A group of us stayed in Edinburgh and the apartment was perfect for us. Great central location, everything is within walking distance. The beds were comfy and Peter was really helpful and responsive with any queries we had. Recommend!
Such a lovely stay in Edinburgh. Peter was an amazing host and made us all feel very welcome. He was very thoughtful to our needs both checking in early and out and was attentive to all of our needs . Great area to use as a jumping off point. Terrific holiday.
Peter could not do enough to ensure we had a great stay - he provided parking, station and shop info as well as providing us with an extra mattress as we had an extra guest to the listing. The apartment was clean and spacious and was in a great location to the city centre and activities we had booked. If you are a large group looking for an apartment close to the centre, this is the perfect property. Peter, the host, is lovely and will provide anything you need within reason!
The location of this property, in the new town, was perfect. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but close enough to walk to, and also just a short walk from the trams.
Grocery stores and restaurants were also close at hand.
While the property could use some updating internally, it was a charming and spacious place, perfect for our group of 7.
The owner, Peter, was very communicative, and happy to help with any and all questions we had.
Would be more than happy to stay here again!
The apartment was beautiful, spacious and near bus and tram lines, as well as near grocery shopping and anything else we could need. The views from the window were stunning and the apartment itself was a thing of beauty, with high ceilings and elegant fixtures. The owner was responsive and provided everything we could need.

About the host
Hosted by peter henderson
I am retired and run the house with my daughter and good help. I was born on a farm outside Edinburgh where my 2 sisters and 4 brothers had a lovely life. Our father Mac was a Scottish rugby international, winning the Triple Crown in 1933. Our mother Janet grew compost-grown vegetables in the 1950's, and around 1960 started Henderson's vegetarian and vegan cafe/restaurant on Hanover Street -recently closed. I worked for many years as a wine salesman, mostly in the Highlands, where there was some keen competition from a famous Scottish spirit!
Why they chose this property
The house was purchased by my mother in 1956 for her 7 children to live in while attending Edinburgh schools. It is somewhere that I have been happy and very familiar with. There were very few cars in the street when we arrived in 1956. Coal fires were our source of heat and hot water bottles provide by father, if we wished, in winter.
What makes this property unique
The house is light and nice and spacious, with many original features. The church and trees at the back were always quite magical to dreamily look out on. In the early days the street was a route home for the young after being for a night out in town, and it seemed much noisier and livelier then. There is a large park at the bottom of the street, and pleasant walks through Edinburgh New Town (1750-1850) to the centre.
