You've heard the hype, seen the movie...now visit the area!!! NOTTING HILL
Notting Hill is an area in West London, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The area is most well-known for Portobello Market (on Portobello Road, unsurprisingly), which runs every day except Sundays, and the Notting Hill carnival, held every year on the last weekend in August.
Of course, we couldn't talk about Notting Hill without mentioning the film. Released in 1999 and starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, the film did much to promote and raise interest in the area. The late 1990s, after all, was still a time when much of Notting Hill was undergoing changes and gentrification.
Notting Hill is a great place to visit, from its cafes and restaurants, its market and boutique shops, to its many pubs and bars. It holds much in the way of entertainment, whatever your interest - be it shopping, dining, film, drinking, clubbing or more!
You can stay right in the heart of the area if you choose to stay at our property.

A great spot and well set up for families. Close to Potobello Road/Notting Hill cafes and bakeries, and the great pubs of Westbourne Grove. Definitely recommended.
We spent the first part of our holiday in a spectacular hotel near St James Park - but everyone enjoyed staying here even more. Lovely flat in a lovely neighborhood and a fantastic spot where you can imagine what living in London might be like - dreamy! The flat is well provisioned, and just as described - a perfect spot for our four adults, but children would have been easy here too. We hope to stay again next time we're in town.
Nice flat with everything a family needs and a great view down a leafy Notting Hill street.

Great place in a great location. The property itself is very nicely decorated and well-appointed, and it is in an ideal location in Notting Hill. For the location and most of the experience, it would rank 5-stars, but we had some difficulties in our stay. These include cleaning that began after our check-in time, decorative door handles that fell off of doors, and a clothes washer that was non-functional due to an error code. I reached out to the property owner via email, but we must have had some difficulty connecting (who knows, it could’ve been a spam folder issue or some unexpected issue). All of those items were manageable, and could be easily rectified. Do not let these transitory issues impact your decision: it is a terrific property, very comfortable, and ideally located if you like Notting Hill.
Due to circumstances, we had to work a lot during our week in London. Manfredo’s place could not have been a better choice. We loved his communication ahead of the travel and certainly everything in and around this wonderful little jewel.
The house was as it appears in pictures. It was clean and everything was usable.
It's a great location for exploring London. There are a few Tube stops within walking distance, but also plenty of bus stops. If you use the TfL Go app, you can plan any trip you want in the London area and get to it easily.
Loads of great restaurants and cafes nearby.
No complaints, would stay again.
We waited until the last minute to book a new year's Eve vacation in London. Hotels were booked so we turned to vrbo and found this house. We could not have been more pleased. It was very easy to get to from the train station and within walking distance of portobello road and lancaster street and so many spots of interest. Very safe and lovely neighborhood. We had dinner the first night at one pub and it was amazing. Our last night my husband and I went out to dinner at an italian restaurant and had the most amazing truffle ravioli. The house was toasty warm and had everything we needed with two teenagers and an 8 year old. The owner made the check in process very easy. Absolutely stunning place.

Dirty, terrible linens, worst Vrbo I’ve ever stayed in. I’ve stayed in many
Refrigerator filled with old smelly food, no room to put our food. Utensil drawer in kitchen was dirty, making it so we needed to wash them to eat. Upstairs living area was good. Never did find bin liners for the trash
Downstairs, there were two lights tat didn’t work. Linens were old and uncomfortable.

Dear Kathryn thank you for your review and the many messages which you sent to us while staying some of which I enclose here for the records. it is very useful to get into perspective and resolve any issues the property might have.. We have now resolved and made all utensil draws easier to navigate and added al more bulbs while instructed the cleaner to check them every time. Again thank you for staying with us and we hope to have you again.

Thank you Manfredo, is there anyway we could get the address, we need to give it to our driver who will be bringing us to London from the Cotswolds. Again thank you.
Kathryn.
KATHRYN
Oops, I think I see the address on the rental agreement, sorry.
KATHRYN
Hello Manfredo, please send me the address of the Nottinghill property that I booked, thank you, Kathryn.

The refrigerator is fine, it’s the freezer we need. The freezer is so full that we can’t put another thing in there. We do not want to throw away your frozen foods.
KATHRYN :
Hi Manfredo, we are searching for bin liners and toilet paper. Thank you
KATHRYN
We found the toilet paper but still searching for the bin liners.
I made a reservation at this residence in Notting Hill at the last minute due to a change in work plans. The location of the house is quite good being close to some very nice areas in Notting Hill and Portobello Road Markets. The unit is on the first floor which provides access to a very nice rear yard area. The dining area / parlor floor is quite nice and airy. The kitchen is small, but well laid out. It could be quite easy to just prepare meals in the home if there weren’t so many good restaurants nearby. The bedrooms are downstairs. The bedroom and en-suite bath in the back have recently been re-tiled. The bedroom in the front of the home also has an en-suite bath, but the tub might not be suitable for everyone.
Really came to love the Notting Hill neighborhood. Had never been there. The underground stop was close enough that even my husband with mobility limitations could easily manage it. The apartment was convenient when some of us wanted to stay back and rest from sightseeing, and it wasn't terribly noisy. We were a little concerned about the lack of A/C with the warmer temps in summer these days, but it was ok. Manfredo said he would provide fans if we needed them, but we managed without. Bedrooms are on the lower level, so don't heat up as much. The back bedrooms do not have windows for air circulation. Front king bedroom has a large window which we kept open most of the time. Nice large fridge for keeping drinks cold after a long day of sightseeing. And a good sized freezer to make ice cubes!!! We would stay there again.

Great location, otherwise a mixed bag
We've stayed in over a dozen VRBOs over the years, and this one was mixed. Notting Hill is a lovely neighborhood and is close to great restaurants and transit stops. But the flat itself needs maintenance. There was just one set of keys for our whole family, and we were on different time schedules and so had to place the one key in a lockbox down a rickety set of steps below the front door, with a railing that wobbled seriously. The carpet was stained. The back door was nearly impossible to lock. The steps down into the back yard were even more wobbly than those in front, with the railing swaying more than 8 inches side to side. The main shower downstairs backed up on our first night. We'd consider staying here again only if the owners addressed these issues.

An exceptional property!
This flat is delightful. It’s attractive, comfortable, and very well maintained. From our first point of contact with the owner to our final message, he was very helpful and responsive. We were met upon arrival at the flat and given very useful information about the property and the neighborhood, and we were met again the day we departed. We were 6 adults and one toddler, and there was ample space for all of us. The garden out back is an added bonus with concrete benches, large picnic table, and a charcoal grill. Notting Hill turned out to be the perfect area for our week-long stay. The surrounding neighborhood is lovely and safe. The Bayswater tube stop is an easy 10-minute walk, and it’s on the Circle Line so accessible to virtually everything in central London in 15-20 minutes. Nice shops, street vendors, and an excellent variety of restaurants and cafes are within walking distance as well as two very nice playgrounds. The renowned Portobello Road Market is just a few blocks away. The main floor includes the living room, dining area, and kitchen. The kitchen is very well stocked. There was some tourist information in the cabinet as well as a guidebook. The furnishings were very comfortable and the large windows provide ample light and nice ventilation. All three bedrooms and all baths are on the lower level. The master bedroom is spacious and has an en suite bathroom (but no shower). There is a large closet but no chest of drawers which would have been helpful. The bedside lamps need to be taller and brighter to provide better lighting for those who like to read in bed. The two smaller bedrooms are well-sized; both have shelves and drawer space. A hairdryer with the right plug was provided which was much appreciated. The main bath is lovely and very large – built like a conservatory with lots of glass and natural light. The shower is fantastic – like a giant rain shower. The only downside is that this one shower must be shared by all occupants. A mirror near the sink in the main bath would be nice. There is a half bath on the lower level as well. The absence of windows in the two smaller bedrooms was not an issue – made for easy sleeping. All the beds were comfortable with nice linens and more than enough towels. There is a washer and dryer within the main bath and also a large drying rack.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Talbot Road and highly recommend this property. We would definitely return on a future visit.
This is a very nice place with a big back garden. The bedrooms are lower level but very pleasant. The shower room is awesome.
We were very comfortable in the house with 5 people staying.
Took the family to london for their first time, and really enjoyed staying at Manfredo's house in Notting Hill. Really great location with proximity to loads of restaurants, cool shops and cafe's galore. Short walk from Hyde park and a walk through time of the history of the british royals. Its a bit of a walk to/from the tube for younger kids so we ended up taking ubers into central london for the tours we had signed up for. We were on the go for 95% of the time so didn't really use the backyard or the house for more than sleeping.
Manfredo was really quick in responding to any questions we had.
We loved our stay in Notting Hill, and the place was great. It was perfect for our family-our two kids (10 and 13) loved the backyard and having some room to play outside. There was plenty of space for my husband, my mom, and me to hang out and relax. The location was excellent, and the host made the check in and out process really easy. We would absolutely stay there again!

family vacation
Overall a very nice property. Not a lot of amenities provided, as in one bar of soap and minimal toilet paper. Tried to contact manager about back yard lights not working and got no response. Could add a few small touches - like bottle of water or wine that would make me give it 5 star but as of now I will give 4
Nice place but will likely stay elsewhere for my next London visit. There’s water damage in the bathrooms and some mold forming on the front window frame. The bathroom with tub does not open to back garden as pictured. Location is ~10 min from closest tube station and ~35 min to Trafalgar Sq. The owners are very quick to respond.
Fantastic Notting Hill flat with beautiful garden space
Some friends and I rented this property to celebrate a 50th birthday on our trip to London. The flat is very cool, very bright and light, and the garden is spectacular. And the location in Notting Hall/Bayswater is perfect - you get a true neighborhood feel, but you're a close cab, uber, or tube to the center city, or anywhere else. And we went running every morning through Kensington Gardens, Royal Albert, etc. -- beautiful! And we'd come back from dinner/pubs and hang out in the back garden having a few (quiet) nightcaps. A+. (Only one note -- it says 2.5 baths. The main full bath is huge with a big shower, But the 2nd full bath has only a tub with a shower handle...but it's a tub.) Highly recommend this place!
Our arrival went smoothly though the heating situation was on The fritz and the radiators were throwing out hot air in a warm June. A call to the owner enabled us to correct the problem and while we were out sightseeing the problem was solved. The owners were enthusiastic and helpful in acquainting us w local amenities and we enjoyed the easy access.
The bedrooms on the lower level suffer from lack of any ventilation and become stuffy; mobile fans or ceiling fans would be a huge improvement.
We enjoyed the rear garden for family time. Unfortunately the lower deck was water-logged and one of the boards cracked. I’m sure that has been remedied as the home was delightful and obviously cared for.
Our family truly enjoyed this stay and our older grandson took photos of all the rooms as a special memory.
