Perfect couples getaway!
Our stay couldn't have been better at 52 Cannon! Super close to downtown with just the right amount of space. Perfect for 6 adults! If we are ever back in Charleston, we will be coming back here for sure!
Not necessarily as advertised
The living space itself was great. Clean. Three large bedrooms, each with a king bed and own bath. Comfortable and relaxing.
It's not really a house though. It's one of two units in this building with a third unit behind it. All three units share parking along side which is supposed to be for 5 cars. The drive was so narrow we could barely exit our minivan. Anything bigger than mid sized sedan will be a challenge. Going in forward is hard enough but the expectation for exit is to back out. The gate is narrower than the drive. I had to pull in my mirrors to keep from hitting the protruding hinge from the fence. Guests in other units would not park where they were supposed to which made it worse. I contacted manager who called other guests which just made them angrier. Description needs better explanation of parking. It says park your car, you won't need it. Should say park your car because you won't be able to get it out.
Location is very close to King street but I wouldn't say it's in the heart of the historic district. Definitely not an easy walk to French quarter or market street areas. You can easily walk to several eateries but the prime area is quite a bit further down. The interior of this property was nice but the area of this location is very run down/sketchy. You need to go down King Street another mile.
Description says garden/lawn and 2 bicycles. Neither existed. Bikes would have been great.
This was my first visit to Charleston and I wasn't familiar with the area. Now that I am better acquainted I wish I had stayed in a hotel further down for the price.
I loved the look of the property.
It was roomy, comfortable and tastefully decorated and the owner made sure we had every thing that we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely book the facility again.
Loved the location and the three en-suites!
This house is located in a great location within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. I stayed here with three colleagues/friends and it was a huge plus having three bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The space was just large enough for us to hang out and the two parking spaces were great. The owner was flexible with us and extended our check-out time on the last day by an hour which was much appreciated.
My only recommendations for improvement would be to include a full-length mirror somewhere in the house and to pack it with more staples (I couldn't find scissors and I don't remember seeing any spices). It wasn't a big deal for us because we didn't cook.
We will definitely look to stay here again the next time we are in Charleston!
A quaint home in downtown Charleston
What a lovely decorated house to spend time with my family. It was really nice to get up in the morning and stroll to a local bakery or restaurant. There was so much to pick from we did a different one each day. When we arrived there were a couple of maintenance issues I contacted the maintenance man and within a couple of hours he came and fixed the problems and gave some great suggestions of places to eat and visit.
The property is very nice. Only complaints we had concern some items that we feel are needed.
Needs a rug on the hardwood floor as you enter. It rained a lot while we were there and we
hated to track wet feet into the living room. Needs one or 2 more chairs in the living room.
Needs 2 fold up luggage racks in each bedroom. Otherwise, everything worked fine and we were quite comfortable !
