Raymond the host is very thorough and actually meets the guests which is nice. Just some small housekeeping needed but nothing major. We had to buy and donated to the house a cookie sheet as none supplied except pizza pans. I made a big mistake of losing the key but Raymond thankfully got it rekeyed and was very accommodating in adjusting his schedule to help our situation. He definitely went out of his way to help us have an enjoyable stay. I would happily stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.
Just far enough from Chicago to commute back-and-forth, let alone the beauty and quaintness of Oak Park and so much to do there. Some of the best restaurants we've ever been to.
Charming home just far away enough from the city to give a nice neighborhood vibe but close enough to drive in for sight-seeing. Our host met us at the house to point out different aspects of the residence and was able to give us tips about the surrounding area as well as transportation accomodations. Would highly recommend!
My husband and I and our two adult sons came to Oak Park for a funeral and then a long weekend together. The house worked very well for us - three bedrooms and a roomy living room, dining room and kitchen. The neighborhood is wonderful - we walked to the Friendly Coffee Lounge every morning and had a quick drive to restaurants on Madison and Lake Streets. Our son swam in lap pool at nearby Rehm Park, and we squeezed in a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright home.
This property is lovely and truly a home away from home. With a large living room, dining room and kitchen, my family of 5 adults was very comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This property is in a great location, neighborhood was very quiet but not far from downtown!
The house itself was spotless and so cute. We loved all the character in the home and it had tons of space!

Just what we were looking for!
This property was exactly what we were looking for...an affordable, comfortable place, located near the train. Our property host (Ray) was very nice and took care of all our needs.
If you don't mind driving or taking the train into Chicago, this spot was great. Lots of character in the little old house, and we could tell the owner was putting in a lot of effort to maintain its charm. The neighborhood is fantastic too...walking or a short drive to grocery, great restaurants, parks, etc. Would stay again!
This is a great place - a real Oak Park classic Craftsman house with original design features, lovingly maintained and updated where it matters. Our stay happened to coincide with a freak heatwave, and in spite of mid-90s temperatures and soupy humidity for most of the week, we were always cool and comfortable in the house. The neighborhood is safe and cheerful, with lots of interesting houses and well-tended gardens - just a really nice atmosphere. And the location is super-convenient: everything we needed was within walking distance, with Downtown Chicago is just a short drive away. Ray, our host, was extremely responsive and friendly. Would happily stay again!
Book this house, you will not regret it! This house in Oak Park is a perfect home away from home. The house was clean, the appliances updated, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and we had plenty of towels. The bathroom updates are gorgeous, and we had plenty of hot water. Beyond the house, the neighborhood is a quiet and serene sanctuary. You can safely stroll around this neighborhood and see the lovely historic homes and gardens. We kept our eighteen-month-old granddaughter during our stay and had easy access to a wonderful park. In the backyard, there is a deck and small private yard. Restaurants and grocery stores are just down the street with enough options to satisfy everyone. You have everything you need in very near proximity, but should you want to venture to the city, the train station is super close! Our host, Ray, went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. He is, without a doubt, the best host we’ve ever had. He took the time to greet us personally and make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He left clear instructions for the check-in and out process. He was very quick to respond to our messages and even tolerated our questions about the artwork and architecture of the home. There was a slight mix-up on the parking and we received a ticket. Ray took care of that without hesitation and ensured we did not receive another one. He is proud of this home and it shows!
We had an excellent stay in this charming, comfortable and perfectly clean house. The neighborhood is quiet and charming, the Chicago Loop is easily accessible by train or car. The host is friendly and discreet. Our experience was perfect.
We had a great time staying here. The property was an the perfect size for our family. Community was nice and quiet. Grocery store and parks were right around the corner. Easy access to the Highway and city. Backyard was amazing to sit and enjoy the evening. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit chicago.

I'm a lifelong Chicagoan living in Oak Park for 28 years. I'm a graduate of DePaul University and a Technical Business Analyst for a major financial institution. For a good challenge I've finished the Chicago Triathlon 8 times and hope to do more in the future. In my spare time I enjoy time at the gym, motorcycle riding, and enjoying Oak Park and the City of Chicago.
