Lovely visit in a beautiful little town. Plenty for little children to explore. Local Magpie and Stump pub was a short walk away and served delicious meals.
The overall experience was lovely. There were just a few lets down with the fireplace being broken something our son was looking forward to. The TV remote did not work.

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.
We apologize that the glass in the slow combustion heater was broken. When I checked with the cleaners they advised it was not broken when they cleaned the apartment so we are not sure what happened, its very strange. We had to order special heat resistent glass , so we were not able to get it fixed until the glass arrived the following week.
Also I am checking with the current guests and cleaners about the TV remote as we were not aware it was not working. No one has advised us of this until now, so thank you for letting us know.
Place needs a good clean- we had to clean microwave and dishes before using them, carpets have embedded dirt, crumbs under the bed and mouse poo in cupboards. No lightbulb in lamp next to bed, only half the electric blanket on main bed works.
Kitchenette is not young family friendly-open lower shelves a nightmare with little ones.
Seating at table for three only.

Taste of yesteryear
Lovely heritage property with lovely outdoor area with golden afternoon sun.
Interior warm and cosy with combustion heaters. Kitchen areas adequate, bathrooms great. Excellent location, walking distance to cafe, pub and amusements. Suggest a brazier in backyard would have been perfect.

Beautiful old building - Clean and has character.
I was hesitant to book due to the previous review. I did anyway and I was glad I did. It is a beautiful old building with character and a big history behind it. We stayed in the Scholar room which is tucked away at the back. The room was spacious and clean. My children LOVED swimming in the massive bath and although the hideaway has 2 other rooms we didnt hear or see anyone, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. I loved the garden with the tables and chairs. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Unclean & dirty - needs complete clean & makeover
Very run down, old thick cobwebs everywhere. Hasn't been cleaned properly in years. Dirty quilt covers (they must not change them ever - one quilt had what looked like bodily fluids on them!), curtains & windows - many you couldn't open as were stuck, thick with cobwebs or had no screens etc.
Old food on the floors & rubbish left inside kitchen cupboards.
Many things did not work or have flat batteries.
We rented all three units & they were all as bad as each other. Needs at lot of love & a super clean. Old broken down appliances need to be replaced, so does the so called cleaner!!
It does not look anything like the nice photo's which must've been taken many years ago when everything was new & clean!!
Will never stay there again!

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay and understand your concerns with the standard of the cleaning. This has been an on going problem for some time now and we have finally found a great cleaning team who have good attention to detail and do a very thorough job. The place has just had a thorough spring clean and appliances either fixed or replaced. Work has also started on giving the garden a mini makeover.

Great Stay !
This stay was unique in many ways. Apart from the Historic value of the say - a town with so much history, we were only 15 km from Clare and other main centres. Loved the wood fire, used it every night, kitchen a little small but this did not worry us based on the overall property - highly recommended and thank you for the stay ! :-)

A Tranquil Retreat
Mintaro is a real gem of a town. The lack of light pollution makes a night walk to see the constellations unforgettable. The Hideaway has a tranquil courtyard that is perfect for morning coffee and a good book, followed by afternoon tea in the front walled garden amongst the pomegranate tree and abundant bird-life. Highly recommend a stay in this earthly historic accommodation.

The beds were very comfortable and the cottages quietly situated which ensured a good nights sleep. Whilst the two person spa bath may be very romantic seems a waste of precious water and very extravagent when no decent kitchen provision. However it meant we ate out every night which was very welcome.!

Lovely character filled cottages and good location in the Clare/Gilbert Valley. Easy walk/drive to all attractions and amenities. Good breakfast provisions (cereal, bread, eggs, bacon). Very comfortable bed in a large bedroom. Nice surprise to have a laundry available with all facilities. When the property is full you can hear the people in the adjoining room. Very comprehensive information folder
