Only blocks away are boat rentals, para-sailing, stand up paddle boards, fishing, dolphin watch cruises, jet skis, kayaks and almost any water sport imaginable plus shopping on Corey Ave and many fabulous restaurants.

St. Pete Beach, the most southern link in a chain of barrier islands that make up the Tampa Bay Sun Coast, offers residents and visitors miles of pristine white sandy beaches that border the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. St. Pete Beach, formerly known as St. Petersburg Beach, has a wide variety of accommodations ranging from large scale resorts to the classic Florida mom and pop vintage motels that bring back memories of old Florida.

The city was incorporated in 1957 with the consolidation of the Towns of Pass-a-Grille, Don CeSar, Belle Vista, St. Petersburg Beach and unincorporated Pinellas County to become the “City of St. Petersburg Beach.” In 1994, the citizens voted to shorten the name to “St. Pete Beach” to lessen the confusion with the City of St. Petersburg, located on the mainland to the east. The City of St. Pete Beach is located just off the Pinellas County mainland of Saint Petersburg, just south of Treasure Island, 20 miles from Clearwater Beach and within 30 miles of both St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and Tampa International Airport.

With year-round sunshine, an abundance of recreational activities, restaurants, and shopping, St. Pete Beach is one of the most enjoyable places to live and vacation, in the world.

Not Clean

  • 2 of 5

When we checked in, it looked as if it hadnt been cleaned. There was hair everywhere on the floors, countertops and in the bathrooms. I felt I needed to clean the condo personally before feeling comfortable with staying there. So we bought cleaning supplies and I cleaned and swept every room before unpacking. We did report to housekeeping. They offered to come back to clean the next day but I had it already taken care of at this point. The towels even had hair on them when we went to use them. Just didn’t feel comfortable there. We won’t book there again. One convenience we did like is the closeness to many restaurants. We were able to walk around town and access the beach which was very nice. We gave plenty of notice for housekeeping to be able to get into the condo to clean after we left so the next family would have better luck then we had.

Nice location nice people very close to beach.

A bit hard with a second floor unit to climb the stairs carrying everything. Unit was nice but main tv and tv in master had only basic cable while kids tv only had Netflix. Unit was clean except tv armored in master bedroom. Looked like at least a month of dust up there. Pool was nice and my grandkids loved it. Beach was super close. All in all a nice place for aure

Too bad service was awful, because the place was beautiful.

  • 1 of 5

From the beginning it was a disaster. Our arrival time was set for 3pm, we called to ask for an early check in, had to leave a message, no one returned my call. Arrived at our rental at 3pm, followed our instructions to get in our unit, no success. Once again I called to get assistance, spoke with customer service, who promised to call me back, after 45 mins I called them. They tried to tell me that I was trying to check in too early, check in wasn't until 4pm, although my welcome email said 3pm. Once again they said they would get ahold of the local person and call me back. Once again no call. I of course called again, keeping my cool in 90+++ heat and humidity. Oh and did I mention, there were 6 of us. This goes on for 2 hours. In the end the instructions they gave us were wrong. I finally get the correct code and we are in. The place was beautiful. Perfect until....... the air conditioner went out. The phone call game began again. Never was it fixed. While sitting in the airport waiting to board our plane I sent an email to customer service saying how horrible the service was and guess what.... maintenance called to see if the air was still out, he was going to send someone to fix it. It is a shame that the managing company has such horrible service because I looked into booking for my next trip, and needless to say I will not stay here again.... or recommending to anyone.

Waves 19 summary for 2016

  • 5 of 5

Rating Details:

The property manager was very helpful.

The vacation rental was spotless.

I was very happy with the location.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.

Reviewer Comments:

Trees over pool need to be cut back, too much shade. Once again pool problems. Could not use pool from mid-January until mid-February. Last 3 weeks pool temperature was fine.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback, we can mention to the Waves property management about your concerns regarding the trees around the pool. As for the pool, the building was experiencing some issues with their pool heater this year. It was one of the coldest "Florida" winters on record and the heater had to work extra hard and they encountered some expensive issues that were resolved as quickly as possible. We are glad to hear that overall you were very satisfied with your stay at the Waves in St Pete Beach!
