Moo Creek is a fully equipped holiday home in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. It is within walking distance to Cow Bay Beach and only a short drive to restaurants, boardwalks and other sights of the Daintree. With one king bed, double futon and single bed, Moo Creek is suitable both for couples and families seeking to get away from it all and relax. There is ceiling fans through out house and plenty of air flow from outside. With a large open living area and covered decking overlooking a private creek and surrounded by rainforest it is a truly tranquil space.
The space Moo Creek is entirely reliant on solar power and rainwater so we ask that guests are mindful of power and water usage during their stay. We also have a generator as a back up for power. While it doesn't need to be used very often you should note that as the property is in a rainforest we do experience periods of cloud and rain and therefore at times this may necessitate the running of the generator for power. There is no mobile reception or wifi available on the property which adds to the feeling of being able to totally switch off from it all. There is mobile reception available just a few minutes drive up the road however if needed. We provide books, movies and games for guests as well as all products including shampoo etc. We would also recommend that guests shop for groceries prior to heading into the Daintree (there is a Woolworths in Mossman) as there are very limited options for groceries once you have crossed over the river. We provide both a plunger and a stove top espresso maker at the house, however guests need to provide their own ground coffee for these.
Guest access Guests have the entire property to themselves for the duration of their stay. This includes the private swimming holes in the creek running through dense rainforest. Given sufficient time and an Australian address we are happy to post ferry passes to you to save you the cost of the ferry. Otherwise we provide a ferry pass for your return journey (on the Daintree River Ferry crossing) so only a one way pass needs to be purchased to access the property. Additional passes can also be arranged for guests staying longer than 3 nights.
Other things to note Our creek on the property has two small swimming holes which are accessed from the decking area. The creek is crocodile free and therefore safe to cool off in the warmer months.

Wonderful secluded cabin in the middle of the rain forest. Walk down to the creek and you're in nature and there is wildlife everywhere. We absolutely loved our stay at Moo Creek. Highly recommended.

A lovely retreat in the Daintree rainforest. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ferry vouchers were much appreciated!
The property met all our expectations and then some. Very beautiful and quiet location. I very much enjoyed the veranda and of course the surrounding rainforest. Would recommend and would stay again.
Great property for a family visit. Plenty of board games and the creek swimming was the most refreshing part of our stay. The beds were comfortable and we had just about everything we needed to cook for ourselves and was lovely to bbq overlooking the rainforest.
We had a very lovely and relaxing time! The house is well-equipped, with a full kitchen and BBQ, and is well located close to the beautiful Cow Bay Beach and surrounded by trees
Really lovely wildlife experiences in beautiful nature. The home is simple, spacious and caters to your needs. The owners have gone above and beyond to leave easy-to-understand instructions.
The house is within national park, there are animals that visit and we saw fireflies and heard animals in the bush. It was lovely to make our own dinner and experience feeling like were in nature by eating our dinner/breakfast out on the patio. Close to cow bay, where we took a quick dip (mind the possible crocodiles!), and lazed on the beach. The house does not have aircon which may be a limiting factor for some people. It was nice and sunny whilst there so being on solar power only wasn't a problem. Our hosts also contacted us early and sent a ferry pass so that we didn't have to pay extra for that, which was absolutely awesome, and made it nice and easy for us. Thank you for the stay.
It was a very nice and quiet place. We found the snake climbing in the gutters on house 2nd evening, very cool. The pool was nice to swim in and the fish would nibble on you and were jumping out of water a little to bite at my beard. My son thought it was a riot.
I loved everything about my stay here. The property is so quirky that it instantly feels like home. We were so blessed to see so much wildlife right at the door step, we even had critters trying to join us when we had a fire to cook. My friends that I travelled with became a little overwhelmed when the water ran out due to the water pump playing up and that drained the solar power but understood that's part of living in a rainforest and absolutely no fault to owners. The caretaker had the water issue resolved the same day. We still always had enough power to what we needed. The caretaker was always around if we needed anything, we don't have words to say just how amazing she is.We all would highly recommend this property for an amazing and authentic experience of what living in the Daintree is like.
Perfect hideaway for exploring the rainforest and it’s hidden treasure
Our family of four had a wonderful two-night stay in this cozy cabin nestled in the heart of the Daintree forest. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well-equipped, providing all the comforts we needed.
The highlight was our evening around the campfire, roasting marshmallows under the stars. We were immersed in the sounds of the jungle at night, with a chorus of frogs and birds surrounding us. An exciting moment came when we spotted wild boars crossing the road!
While we didn't get to meet Caramel, the resident python, the abundance of wildlife made our stay truly memorable. The cabin offered the perfect base to explore this magical rainforest.
We'll definitely return for another adventure in this slice of paradise!
Moo Creek is a peaceful getaway. It doesn't have mobile connection. It doesn't have WhatsApp, YouTube, that X thing, Facewhatever, SMSs, or mains power.
It does have very helpful caretakers nearby. It does have peace and quiet, other than the bounty of birdlife. It does have a flowing creek with a pool where tiny fish join you.
If you've had a busy schedule then you should find Moo Creek, which close to Cow Bay Beach, instantly calming.

Different Experience.
The house was not what we expected. Being off grid was no problem. Was not happy about no phone at house. Was told no reception but given landline phone number for emergencies, which we would have driven 6ks to reception. The position of house was good, could do with a thorough clean. The experience was very Rainforest, cape Tribulation which was great. Overall a different experience.

In an emergency as stated in the information our next door neighbours who are also our housekeepers are always happy to help.
They have a land phone line in their house.

You definitely feel like you are in the rainforest here, and the host and property caretaker are both friendly and helpful.
Important to note we got no data signal and there's no Wifi, which makes trip logistics a bit difficult. Also the driveway was barely passable for a car as of July 2024, though they plan to fix this.
Our one issue was the cockroaches in the kitchen/ living area. The host offered to clean and spray roach killer, but we weren't convinced that would fix the problem so we opted to eat the cost of another hotel and leave early. This is a rainforest, so perhaps these things are to be expected, but we just didn't want to stay in a place with roaches. You can decide for yourself.
This was a delightful property in a beautiful, serene location. It was so private, and so comfortable; it felt like a home away from home. We would happily go back again.
