House in the Shoalhaven

The House in the Shoalhaven has been in operation for 13 years. At the current time we are only offering the self contained 1 bedroom apartment downstairs. This apartment has a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a lounge area with a smart tv and nbn internet, and a kitchenette with a full sized oven, dishwasher, microwave and cooktop. The ensuite is equipped with a front loader washing machine and dryer. Guests have full use of the backyard and pool.

Please note: unfortunately we are only able to offer a minimum 2 week stay, however we can accommodate guests for up to 12 weeks.

guests will need to bring their own sheets and towels

Location

The property is located in Bomaderry, just 10 minutes from Berry, 15 minutes to Kangaroo Valley and 15 minutes to Coolongatta and the coast. The choice of beaches available from the central Shoalhaven ranges from Gerringong and Gerroa just 20 minutes north, Culburra and Orient Point a 20 minute drive East, and the amazing beaches of Jervis Bay just 20-25 minutes south.

Beautiful house. Plenty of room. Has everything you need for a getaway.

Loved it. Has a heated pool and bbq. Plenty of beds and space. Kids enjoyed the fact there is network with all the movies and cartoons they can watch. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Perfect Family Getaway

Dave is by far THE BEST HOST. The photos do not do this place justice! 5 stars for cleanliness. The bunk bed room was perfect for my 5 under 5y/olds, downstairs was a little "Teen-Cave" for my 13y/o. Both kitchens & both living spaces were well equipped with all the daily amenities & necessities. The heated pool was the real Winner for us, we swam everyday & night for a week. The backyard was absolutely beautiful, amazing sheltered deck area, along with fairy lights to really set the mood. With 2 dryers & 2 washing machines, returned home with 0 dirty laundry. Shops 3 min away & closest beach is around 30mins away. Very quiet neighbourhood. We had a great week of unwinding & relaxing in the pool with a fantastic BBQ. 2 Dishwashers allowed us more time to relax & enjoy. Perfect place for us introverts, we rarely left.

Fantastic family holiday

Great family friendly house. You don’t need to go anywhere, perfect place to relax and enjoy your time. Pool was clean and heated and a great size. Nice quiet street but easy access to supermarket. Host was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this property.

The pool was the reason we came and we loved each day in it

We have spent money and stayed at properties in the past and due to weather changes, never did get to jump in or use the pool facilities. This time the weather played games, but the pool temperature was so warm always, kids spent each day and hours in it. House location was nice and quite, all F&B was delivered by ‘Menulog’ to our door. We will recommend this location and will come again. The Hosts are just outstanding. Thank you.

Had a great stay

There were 5 of us staying; 4 adults and a 12 year old. We have a great stay, the pool was definitely the highlight and we swam in it even when the weather was cool. You do have to drive everywhere though most destinations are within easy driving distance. There's a nice walk track nearby, Bomaderry Creek Regional Park - I thoroughly recommend. What makes this stay great was the host David. He is extremely helpful, friendly and generous. He makes us feel very welcome in his house. Dave even offered to pay for the pool inflatables we wanted to buy to use at the pool! One suggested improvement would be to put a hand wash basin above the separate toilet so it is not necessary to go to the other main bathroom to wash your hands after. Overall, we had an enjoyable time. Thank you David and Jodie for a great stay!

A Wonderdul Stay in Bomaderry

We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights in Dave's home in Bomaderry. My family and I had a great time! The house was clean and comfortable plus the heated swimming pool was a really big plus. Temperature was perfect and you can literally take a dip anytime of the day or night. The house has a lot of amenities for cooking (fully equipped kitchen and BBQ). Woolworths/KFC/McDonalds is also literally 3 minutes away. There is also a great pizza and pasta place in Nowra called Flame, who had really good woodfired gourmet pizza. Beds were comfortable and entertainment is covered as well. Dave was also very easy to coordinate with and is a very generous person. I Highly Recommend this property.

Great Family Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We booked this property to celebrate Mum's 60th birthday - we were a group of 6 adults and a toddler. The home had everything we needed. We loved the heated pool and spent a lot of time in there. The house itself was comfortable and had a fantastic entertainment area. It also fitted us well at the dining room table. Whilst we fitted comfortably in most areas of the house - (and we probably should have checked this before hiring the house - our fault) please be warned that the 4 single beds are in fact bunk beds that grown men don't quite fit in. The other beds and rooms were great and you could close off the living areas from the sleeping areas. Importantly for those hot days we had air conditioning :D The communication from Dave was spot on, friendly and easy. He is an incredibly generous host who checked in with us and was extremely flexible with our arrival and departure. The house was located in a quiet cul de sac street with plenty of parking. It had access to main streets in walking distance - Woolworths a 2 min drive and in the opposite direction the main street of Bomaderry with an awesome coffee shop (20min walk). Thank you for a great getaway! :)

Alternative to a hotel

The house was well located to Nowra. It was tastefully decorated. As we were travelling from the Gold Coast, using hand luggage only, having to bring our own pillowcases, sheets and towels was a huge issue for us, and I wasn't prepared to pay another $150 on top of the accommodation price. There was tea and coffee available, but no milk (which I have received at other properties on this app that I have stayed in). Overall though, it was a nice place to stay and much better than a hotel stay.

Simply amazing! Best value for money!

My friends and I had an amazing stay at the House in the Shoalhaven. We have been to a lot of holiday houses but this one was probably the most comfortable that we've had. The facilities were great - with a full kitchen and plenty of crockery. Beds were comfortable and the living area was great to relax in. David was extremely friendly and easy communicate with! We would definitely stay again.

Great house and pool for the family

The House in the Shoalhaven is a lovely house for a family to escape Sydney. It is welcoming and well equipped in a quiet street in Bomaderry. The pool is a particular bonus. David heated it to 28 degrees and I couldn't believe that the kids spent more time in the pool than they do in summer, especially considering it was the middle of July!

An excellent family property

We just enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at House in the Shoalhaven. The property has everything needed for a comfortable family weekend away. There are plenty of beds and separate living areas upstairs and downstairs create separate zones which are ideal when staying with multiple people. The outdoor deck area is great for relaxing and enjoying drinks and a BBQ. You can see directly into the pool from the deck. The heated pool is lovely and is definitely a highlight, particularly for the kids. We swam every day (even when it was cold and rainy outside). We'll definitely return to this property with other family and friends!
