Large covered porch over the tropical garden and the bay. You live at garden and water level: coffee on the porch, a short walk through the garden to the beach, green turtles in the shallows in front of the property.
This listing is Island Gypsy only — the downstairs of the yellow waterfront house. The Penthouse upstairs is a separate listing.

Staying at Lo Key was a dream! Waking up to the stunning view of Cocobay framed by palms was unforgettable. The communication with the host was excellent, making the booking process and stay seamless. The property was spotless, and all amenities were exactly as described. Highly recommend for a peaceful and picturesque getaway!

The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. We did lose power one day due to a strong storm on the island, and the property doesn’t have a generator, so just something to keep in mind. The location is fantastic, right across the street from Cocoa Bay, where you can spot and feed sea turtles in the mornings. It’s also just a quick 5-minute drive to both the Green Turtle Club and the Bluff House. Overall, a great stay!

Lo Key High Enjoyment!

The Lo Key cottage is in a perfect location, right on Coco Bay. Easy access to the municipal boat dock and turtle and stingrays. Also, 2 minutes from where we got off the ferry and picked up the golf cart. Host was very responsive!

Perfection location! Literally takes 2 minutes to walk to the beach to see the turtles and sting rays! James was the perfect host! Very attentive and quick to respond. Highly recommend his place!!

Perfect location

Great location. Very peaceful stay. Didn’t have enough chairs for everyone to sit at the table on the porch to eat (the only dining area). We only had two folding chairs that were operable. Communication with host was prompt and helpful.

After several months of dealing with a hurricane in the mountains, we needed a break. We have stayed at this property in the past and have always found it to be perfect for us. Beautiful Spot

This house has most beautiful view. Only problem is no one on island knows the name Island Gypsy. House is known as Low Key. Took an hour to find someone that knew where we where staying. Beautiful place to stay.

It was hard to find the cottage since the roads have no names or addresses. I guess the island is small enough that everyone refers to the house names, which made it confusing for first timers. But once we found the cottage we enjoyed the location on the Coco Cove where they have sting rays, turtles, and nurse sharks who appear tame! It is a beautiful walk to lovely beaches and much easier golf cart ride.

Unbelievable Lovely Place to Stay

James place, the ground floor apartment of Lo Key Cottage was just about perfect for us. Easy communication. Great price. SUPER clean. Plus, that fantastic screened in porch, a huge very comfortable couch, ample linens and towels, and actually comfortable beds. The location is insane. Quiet and basically in the shores of Coco Bay where’s it’s easy to make friends with stingrays and sea turtles. Absolutely gorgeous. If the only things missing are pepper and towel racks, that’s hardly anything. We’d totally stay there again, though we’d hope for upstairs neighbors with a lighter step;)Five out of five stars. Easily. High recommend!!!

Very comfortable, clean and well stocked home. Outside bathroom needed cleaning or refreshing before check in. Tree limbs obstructed view to sea. Would have liked a standing grill. Only 3 chairs for patio set when we arrived, 4th had to be searched for. Couldn’t turn fans on patio on. Needed candles or repellent for bugs or recommendations for guests to bring with them. While it’s the little things that affect the overall experience I would still recommend this property. Host or caretaker should have emergency number in unit if needed.

Very nice VRBO

Clean and quaint. Great for family, single quasi-private bathroom between bedrooms. We rented only first floor. I believe that listing indicated beach chairs, none were found, but we didn't ask. Owner was very responsive to all of our requests. Screened Porch is very nice, keeps mosquitoes out (but not no-seeums) bring bug spray. Overall wonderful place!

Coco bay is beautiful. Walked outside to see turtles, stingrays, and nurse sharks as well as a 4-5 foot Barracuda.

What makes this property unique

Island Gypsy is the garden-level cottage on Coco Bay — the one closest to the water and the path to the beach. I designed and built it, fully renovated it, and still look after every stay myself.
It is a two-bedroom home for four, with a large covered porch looking over the tropical garden and the bay. Turtles feed in the shallows out front. You get the quiet of ground level: step off the porch, through the garden, and onto the sand.
Starlink, central air, and a backup generator are included. Named for a life lived on islands, this is the cottage for guests who want Coco Bay at the door, not from a floor above.
