THE NEST - GARAGE/STUDIO

The Nest is a secluded stone garage studio on the same property as Bird Cottage and is perfect for an extended stay individual or couple that may need to business in the area. Visiting nurses doctors or other health professionals will find The Nest convenient to hospitals and clinics in town and visiting engineers and scientists will find our location just a 10 minute drive to the NASA balloon base. The Nest is a great place to unwind, recharge and enjoy the end of the day with the amenities, security and serenity of a rural estate to come home to each night or day. Park your car in the garage and go right upstairs to the 10 X 20 deck and you'll feel the calmness of your home-away-from-home even before entering the cozy studio.

The Nest is quietly nestled among the trees at the estate where you can sit on the front porch area and enjoy quiet times watching the neighboring cattle stroll by, the birds hopping from branch to branch or the breezes creating ripples on the lake surface. The air-conditioned garage studio is accessed by a rustic log staircase and leads to a relaxing 210 sf outside sitting area on cast aluminum cushioned sofa and chair and also features a bistro dining table, ceiling fan and a Weber grill. Once you enter the 400 sf space, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the adjacent cattle ranch. The architectural timber-frame supports along with the interesting dormer windows and 18" wide plank floors will make you think you're staying in a European country estate. You'll sleep soundly under ceiling fans in the aged cedar wood queen bed with pine themed quilt and find a dining area, living area with sofa and recliner, satellite TV service, dresser, granite counter-top kitchenette with convection microwave, all pots and pans and dishes as well as silverware for your convenience. The bathroom has a quaint corner sink and cabinet and you'll love the tumbled granite shower. All the windows have shades for privacy and the night sensing lights as well as the motion sensor security lights will make you feel safe when accessing The Nest by the stone steps and cobblestone walkway at night.

The private stocked lake doesn't require a fishing license and has an available fishing pier and mini-pontoon peddle boat with trolling motor. We even have basic fishing gear in case you'd like to try your hand at catching "the big one". You are welcome to stroll all around the lake if you'd like to do a little exploring or get a some exercise. There is a 1 1/2 acre fruit orchard with fig, peach and persimmon trees as well as blackberries, blueberries and raspberries you are welcome to sample if you are staying during fruiting season.
