Teal Lake is the perfect setting for a tranquil vacation. Connected to Lost Land Lake by channel, this combined water area is over 2500 acres of good fishing. Noted as one of the "Quiet Lakes", Teal Lake has a 10 mph speed limit. It is a class 'A' Muskie lake with excellent Walleye, Bass and pan-fish. The shores are well timbered with many islands, bays, sandbars, weed beds and the Teal River. The lake also has 7 islands, perfect for exploring and picnics. Teal Lake is great for swimming. We are 25 miles from the town of Hayward, deep in the Chequamegon National Forest. Only a short drive to gas stations, road side diners, and grocery stores. Area attractions include; state parks and points of interest, many fine golf courses, horseback riding, canoe rental, river tubing, plenty of fine restaurants, the LCO casino and many more family oriented activities.

Pontoon boats, small fishing boats, kayaks, a paddleboat, and a sailboat are available as well. Boat rental is on-site through resort manager.

A real winner!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful cabin on an awesome lake! Hosts were excellent! The cabin was the perfect size for our family of four, and would sleep a slightly larger party comfortably. The surrounding grounds were well maintained and the dock area offered excellent fishing! We had the opportunity to rent a boat and there was a very nice sandy beach area that we were allowed to use at the adjacent resort. We would definitely stay again!

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I went on a relaxing week vacation the first week in June. The cabin was just as we hoped right on the lake with beautiful views. Tim and Joe were great hosts and accommodating to our needs and questions. Would love to stay again in the future and would recommend it to others.

Perfect getaway from city life

  • 5 of 5

Rolled the dice on a waterfront cabin this week and came up a winner! This rental was everything we were looking for and more. The property is nestled away on teal lake in the middle of a national forest. The scenery from our screened in porch was enough to make us want to return! The cabin sits about 50 feet from the lake. We enjoyed our morning coffee watching loons diving for fish and bald eagles in flight! There are a couple trails into the woods right behind the cabin that we walked daily also. The trail was very walkable (probably manicured for snowmobiles I'm guessing), which made for some great exploring with our pups. The forest was beautiful off the trail, looked untouched, with shades of green I've never seen before. Dont forget your bug spray though! The staff at the resort were great. They helped us get settled in, provided us with a few essentials we overlooked, and then disappeared until we took a walk down to the lodge, where Joe joined us for a cocktail and provided us with a lake map and some fishing tips! We appreciated the seclusion we were provided, but was also good to know they were available whenever we needed anything! In front of lodge was a beach they welcomed us to use, which my wife was glued to our last couple days. The set up was perfect and we will be returning!

Not exactly as advertised

  • 3 of 5

The cottage itself was very nice, clean and well supplied (oddly only 3 chairs for the kitchen table). The furniture is nice; the kitchen is well stocked with utensils; there is a Weber grill, a nice firepit and plenty of outdoor seating. Like most of the VRBOs we've used, there is inadequate lighting in the living spaces.

However the property could use a little TLC. ie. removal of open and empty paint cans from the wood pile area, possible use of a trimmer and general clean up especially around the office. The initial impression is "seedy." ( If I were feeling kind I would attribute the condition to the end of the season, but truly it is it more like rundown.) The VRBO ad doesn't say it is part of a resort (which it is), but it does indicate that a pontoon is available for rental. While there is a pontoon (pretty old and scruffy), it was not in running condition. We are two couples in our seventies and had hoped to be able to take a cruise on the lake. The row boat provided had oars that had definitely seen better days.

On the plus side, Tim was very accommodating and everyone very friendly and nice. I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting.

Owner's Response: We appreciate that this guest found the cabin to be 'very nice, clean and well supplied.' We also apologize for any shortcomings on our part and do truly appreciate any suggestions to ensure a better stay for our guests. As far as the property, the areas the guest referred to such as the wood pile area is over 300 feet away from the cabin, behind a utility garage in an area we do not allow guests. Our main wood pile is located there, but we provide wood to guests when needed. The office area is even further. Pontoon Boats: We have 3 pontoon boats. At the time of this guests stay, one was not in working order. Advertisement: As said in the listing, this cabin is part of a resort, with an onsite property manager. We'd also like to say that our family has been successfully renting these properties on Teal Lake for over 45 years and we are dedicated to providing our guests with a great stay.
