Lovely cottage with a beautiful backyard and outdoor garden to enjoy.We stayed there for 3 nights and had the most wonderful sleep on very comfortable beds. My elderly parents were impressed with the warm welcome of breakfast provisions, fresh flowers and the delicious muffins. We highly recommend this beautiful cottage if you’re visiting Bendigo.

Superb Accommodation

This is the second time we have been here in 10 years and the standard has never been less than superb. Comfort plus and the the small things - fresh fruit and cupboard full of staples, make this property the “go to” site in Bendigo for those seeking old world charm, comfort, location and hospitality.

Bendigo Gem

Julie and Gary were always very responsive, nothing was a problem, the cottage had central heating and cooling, 2 bathrooms and lovely cosy bedrooms and sitting areas, both inside and outside. The thoughtful touches were an extra special bonus, light breakfast supplied and some cakes upon our arrival We felt so at home here.Easy walk to town centre, Gallery, places of interest, cafes and restaurants. The only time we used the car was to take a drive to Castlemaine.Thankyou we loved it

Fabulously relaxing

We had a wonderful stay. The place had everything we needed and was so close to the gallery and restaurants. I loved the egg chair. We would definitely stay again.

Always A Delight

We go to Bendigo every year for the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival and one of the best things about it is "our" little Rowan Cottage. It's so comfortable, has a delightful garden at the back, and there are always goodies on our arrival (e.g. a cake and/or a bowl of fresh strawberries). The hosts, Julie and Gary, are very friendly and communication is easy. Highly recommend !

Rowan Cottage

Wow!! Julie and Greg are amazing hosts. Rowan cottage was the perfect place for our stay in beautiful Bendigo. The thought that went into making our stay special, was second to none!! From the welcome message, special breakfast items, water dispenser and especially the bathroom essentials. They had thought of everything!! The house was charming and so close to everything. The beds super comfy and the outdoor area so private and comfortable. The house was clean and welcoming, Julie and Greg thankyou for having us, communicating clearly with us and making Rowan Cottage a place we will return to.

800m Stroll to Everywhere Second Visit

Cosy Cottage, our second visit from Melbourne but this time utilising the train. Totally well appointed, perfectly located to access Art Gallery, Restaurants, Shops, Bars. The Cottage had so many extras in the Kitchen, Fridge and Pantry, Bathrooms amenities, quality and plentiful towels, plush comfortable bedding. Foxtel turned out very handy. The back courtyard was well utilised for afternoon drinks and the side veranda for Breakfast. We highly recommend this Cottage and Julie and Gary as Hosts.

Delightful

My friend and I recently spent two nights at this property and were very happy with our stay. The cottage was beautifully warm and clean and a lovely continental breakfast was supplied as well as some additional treats and full use of a well stocked pantry. I had some interaction with the host and found her to be very considerate and understanding. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Quaint and adorable

Whilst we were in Bendigo for a short time, it was a lovely little cottage to arrive at and stay for our trip. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. If staying for longer periods and wanting self contained it is the place to stay. Close to the Deborah Gold Mine, shops near by and easy to park the car up and walk every where if you want to.

Weekend getaway

This cottage in Bendigo exudes charm and elegance with its beautifully appointed interior. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy atmosphere and tasteful decor. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the carefully chosen furnishings to the thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home, including a delicious cake and breakfast hamper. The location adds to the allure, with plenty of attractions and activities nearby to explore. We had such a relaxing weekend and would happily to here again.

Lovely Stay

Julie and Garry were wonderful hosts and we arrived late to find a warm, lit comfortable house with little touches like a cake and breakfast. They were fabulous communicators. The house had all we needed and is in a great and quiet location. Beds are super comfy and there is a lovely courtyard to soak up some sun. We will be back.

Cute cottage in great location

We really enjoyed our stay. Hosts were great and even got me some gluten free bread for breakfast which was much appreciated. I loved that we could walk to most places as the cottage is so close to town. Would definitely stay again.

Cosy Cottage, car under carport, totally well appointed, perfectly located to access Art Gallery, Restaurants, Shops, Bars. The Cottage had so many extras in the Kitchen, Fridge and Pantry, Bathrooms amenities, quality and plentiful towels, Foxtel turned out very handy. The back courtyard was well utilised. The Cottage was themed toward the Paris Exhibition, very thoughtful of Julie and Gary. We highly recommend this Cottage and Hosts

Excellent experience

Truly excellent stay. Julie and Gary go above and beyond to make their guests welcome even providing cakes and fruit upon arrival. The (mostly) private backyard area is a dream& gives the illusion of seclusion though the cottage is within walking distance to the centre of town. The evaporative aircon is amazingly effective & everything we needed had been thoughtfully provided. The beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in & made me sad to return to my own - though I usually miss mine when im away. Having two bathrooms was a bonus, as well as a second loungeroom with Netflix, thankfully separating the night owls from the early birds. This is our second stay at Rowan cottage and we noticed minor repairs and improvements making for a truly excellent stay. Rowan cottage is a total delight. You wont be disappointed.

Great base for exploring Bendigo

From the moment we walked in the front door, we felt at home. Our group included my husband and myself (from Brisbane), and his cousin and her husband from England. Julie's communication with us was excellent - and we felt so welcome with all the little thoughtful extras, like the bowl of strawberries and grapes in the frig. No sooner had we arrived than we were enjoying a cuppa and Julie's poppyseed cake in the delightful back garden. The car stayed in the carport while we walked everywhere - and we were able to catch up on our washing of clothes. We wished we had longer than two days.

Back At Rowan Cottage

We came back to Rowan Cottage as it has a great central location in a quiet street, you can easily walk to town avoiding the hills, and it has a relaxed feel to it. Thanks Dave & Shirl - Melbourne

Delightful As Always

This is the third time we have stayed at Rowan Cottage, which shows how much she like it. Julie and Gary, the owners, are great to deal with and we really appreciate the little extras they spoiled us with - delicious fresh-baked muffins, a beautiful bowl of strawberries ... The cottage is quaint and comfortable, everything we could want. We look forward to returning next year !
