This is a comfortable, clean, well decorated home. Nice kitchen. Short walk to convenience stores and dining/drinks. We enjoyed our stay.

Clean, great location to skiing. Plenty of kitchen utensils. Could use a Keurig coffee maker. Need to shovel front steps and driveway better. We'd come back.

Great place!

Great place, great location and very clean. Definitely would stay again! The house was perfect for us and was a great stay for a ski weekend. I will say we felt a little unsure getting nothing from the host the night before, but right at 4 (check in time) we got a text with all the info, and all was well.

Nice place

Typical UP house. Old but comfortable. Nice updates. Extremely well stocked. Great location. Quite a few steps to the front door, so it might not be great for elderly people, but no big deal for anyone else. Enough parking on the street for our truck and snowmobile trailer.We will stay here again

Annual ski trip

We enjoy our annual ski trip to the UP. Several years ago we discovered this house and we have come here since! The owner is incredibly accommodating and the house has everything to make our stay comfortable! We’ll be back!

Nice house in Wakefield

I had originally booked this house for 12 nights. I ended up staying for about 10 nights (my work trip was cut short). Overall it is a nice house. The owners are doing updates and it is on the way to being an excellent house to rent. Initially it was hard getting the information needed to access the house. With help from VRBO that got resolved. After that the owners were very responsive to questions via text message. It’s an old house. So no washer/dryer. Also many electrical outlets are two prongs. A minor inconvenience. I’d stay there again and recommend it to others.

Perfect for our needs!

We came to Wakefield for the hydroplane boat races and this house was prefect for our stay: a large kitchen, air conditioning, and close to the lake and town. We appreciated the many thoughtful touches that have been added to make stays pleasant.

Comfy and Relaxing

This was such a beautiful and comfortable home to stay in! I stayed for 4 nights and during the day ventured out to see some sights and just enjoy the UP. Mike is a great host and was so kind when I called him. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone and would stay again.

Small town charm

This is a cute house in the heart of a small town. It’s an older home that has been updated. Nice furniture, comfortable finishes and a nice sized kitchen that is well stocked. The owner is very responsive and strives to make the stay a good one. If you are coming to the western U.P., this is a good choice.

Great location

House is very clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for us to get together with family. Also centrally located to Bond Falls, Porcupine Mountains. Many local waterfalls nearby (Potawatomi, Rainbow, Gabbro etc). Black River Harbor is nearby too. We also enjoyed having a bar/restaurant within a close walking distance (best pizza ever!!)

Ski 2023

We are returning guests of the Hantons. Listing is accurate , kitchen stocked if you like to cook, Enough space to flop after skiing, close to hills and food. Sunday Lake is 2 blocks away. The Hantons are great hosts responsive and quick to act if you need something. We will continue to stay with the Hantons!
