About Genevieve

Quite two native of Provence, genevieve grew in a farm in Bonnieux country-side and Jean Pierre in Salon de Provence. Maried since 1980 we live at Lioux 11kms away from le Grand Tilleul.

We work together to maintain and take care of holiday homes and we are very demanding on the quality of the supplied prestattions

Genevieve purchased this farmhouse in 1986

Why Genevieve chose Luberon Area

Before to be a holiday house we have built Le grand Tilleul by ourselves; with old materials. In 1986, we purchased the land to build our family home; it was then that a ruin, we have completely re-built and expanded in order to be a pleasant and comfortable place to live with family. Today, we are pleased to share this place to our visitors. During the rental season, we live in Lioux, a small village 11kms away and we will entrust the entire property.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The house is ideally located for visiting Provence, with towns like Gordes, Menerbes, Roussillon, Avignon, Saint Remy de Provence or the Mediterranean sea : Cassis .Not too secluded , just enough close to the village ; very private, offering a view on the chateau of goult

We can organize a private bicycle tour in the surrounding villages or Le Mont Ventoux with a professional coach /guide for an half or a full day tour either for tourism or for a sporting cycling tour with the possibility on renting a bike with electric assistance.

Paradise in Provence

  • 5 of 5

This property is simply amazing. We recently enjoyed a family vacation with friends (4 adults and 2 kids) and we could not have chosen a more picturesque or perfect location for our week long stay. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need including very comfortable beds. The outdoor space is stunning. Our kids (ages 3 and 4.5) loved the pool, my husband mastered the charcoal bbq and we ate out on the terrace many nights. Le Grand Tilleul is located near several of the historic and quaint Provencal towns and wineries and is the perfect distance for stunning countryside drives or day trips to some of the Luberon valley's best markets. One of the highlights of our time in Goult was taking a cooking class at Venice en Provence. Not to miss if you are foodies like ourselves.

We highly recommend this beautiful home and it's lovely owners who were very friendly and provided us with tons of information about the surrounding area. This was certainly a bucket list trip for us and an experience we will never forget. We hope to venture back to Le Grand Tilleul for another incredible family adventure and live the beautiful Provence life once again.

A great holiday house

  • 5 of 5

Le Grand Tilleul is a beautiful stone house surrounded by vineyards, beautifully restored and well equipped. It was very clean and well maintained. Better than the photos suggest. There is a very pretty covered terrace with views up to the Chateau Goult and great sunsets too. It was excellent for our party of 4 adults and twin 6 year old grand daughters. The girls loved exploring the gardens and the fenced off swimming pool is lovely and warm. Goult is very close by and has a weekly market, a few little shops and restaurants.

It is well placed for visiting the surrounding hill villages, with a castle atop most of them, it was interesting for the girls too. The area has plenty to interest children, kayaking on the river Sorgue and the equivalent of "Go Ape" nearby were great hits with them.

There are many good restaurants close by, our favourites being La Ferme de la Huppe just up the road and Cafe Veranda in Menerbes. A visit to Chateau Canorgue near Bonnieux for some good wine is recommended too.

Jean-Pierre and Genevieve are excellent owners, very welcomming and nothing is too much trouble. While we were out on our our middle Sarurday the house was completely cleaned and the bedding changed.

We have had several holidays in this area and this is the nicest place we have stayed, lovely house, lovely pool and well kept gardens in a wonderful area.

Thank you Genevieve and Jean-Pierre.

We loved the house and the garden. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. I would totally recommend the property as a good place to stay in when visiting the Luberon.

Outstanding House

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to this lovely home after driving in torrential rain for 7 hours and it was like coming home. Genevieve met us at an easy to reach place and guided us to the house. Due to our later arrival, she arranged dinner at an amazing restaurant nearby. The house was VERY well equipped with lots of personal touches since the owners live there during off season. Beds were very comfortable and LOTS of towels and wash cloths which many places do not have. House was clean and well maintained as was the pool and grounds. It was so easy to get to nearby towns so this was an excellent location for the region. And Genevieve had lots of wine information for us as well as a small table full of brochures and maps. We'd highly recommend this house and would stay there again if in the region.

Perfection in Provence!

  • 5 of 5

Le Grand Tilleul is the perfect location for enjoying this area in the south of France. The stone house is beautiful, inside and out and presented meticulously, with everything we needed as an adult family of five. Our stay coincided with a heatwave and we loved the cool, elegantly decorated interior, while also making the most of the stunning pool. We enjoyed many long evening meals under the arbor on the terrace, with a view across vineyards and countryside to the hilltop village of Goult. Genevieve and her husband Jean Pierre are perfect hosts, welcoming and friendly, providing plenty of information on restaurants and markets nearby, as well as details of Goult and neighbouring villages. Goult is a charming village, easily accessible by foot through countryside. All provisions are available in the village as well as a weekly authentic, local market. In fact we enjoyed an idyllic holiday here and I highly recommend this property and the location. We would love to return to experience more of the many walks and cycle routes in the area. Thank you, Genevieve and Jean Pierre!

An Ideal Place to Experience Provence!

  • 5 of 5

The moment we stepped into Le Grand Tilleul we were in love with it. It is an elegant, spacious, tastefully decorated stone house, built by our hospitable hosts, Genevieve and her husband Jean Pierre. The house was spotless and had everything needed for a family of five. The pool is large and was well used every day. The grounds are nicely landscaped and fit perfectly into the county setting, surrounded by vineyards and view of the hilltop town of Goult. The photos do not do justice to the house and grounds - they are much nicer than the photos. Genevieve's English is excellent and she provided a lot of helpful advice on what to see and do (including a good spot to see the Tour de France 5km away).

Goult is a fine example of a typical Provençal hilltop village, with an old restored windmill and stone houses leading up to an imposing castle. There is a good variety of shops to take care of any day-to-day needs, including a post office, a pharmacy, and a medical center. There are many good restaurants and a traditional French cafe. The staff at the local tourist office - La Maison du Village - are very helpful, and can offer plenty of advice concerning events to see and places to visit. Goult is situated 8 kilometers from Gordes, 25 minutes from Cavaillon and the A 7 motorway or lsle-sur-la-Sorgue with its antic market and just 5 km from the village of Coustellet, with its wonderful Sunday morning market where fresh regional produce is sold. The surrounding countryside is full of vineyards and cherry orchards, rising to the foothills of the Luberon.
