Menehune Shores unit 601!!! Penthouse top floor apartment with high living room ceilings, wonderful views of Ma'alaea Bay and Maui Komohana (the West Maui Mountains) and recent upgrades has everything necessary for a relaxing stay on the Valley Isle.

Our unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, excellent views, high ceilings, and a layout which provides privacy to each of the bedrooms. The kitchen and baths have been upgraded and last year we added new carpet, drapes and ceiling fans.Our unit does *not* have central air conditioning, but the ceiling fans run off the rooftop solar panels and we think they do a good job of moving the air around the apartment. There is a stacked washer/dryer unit conveniently located in the hall closet near the master bedroom.

There is one California king bed in the master bedroom and two twins in the second bedroom which can be converted to a reasonable facsimile of a king bed, making the unit ideal for four people. The unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, cable television, free local phone service, high-speed internet, and a private lanai. This lanai, accessible from both the master bedroom and the living room, has Ma'alaea Bay and West Maui Mountain views, and that is where we end up spending most of our time. We think you will, too.

Menehune Shores is an oceanfront complex in a low density, peaceful area of North Kihei, twenty minutes from the airport between Maalaea harbor and Wailea. Truly oceanfront, the complex is adjacent to a protected swimming and snorkeling beach and also the five mile long Sugar Beach which extends from the property north to Maalaea, and is perfect for long morning and sunset walks.

A heated pool and BBQ area are located in the tropically landscaped seaside grounds, and a rooftop BBQ and dining area provides stunning views of the ocean, Haleakala, the West Maui Mountains, Molokini, Kahoolawe, and Lanai. It is an ideal place to watch for whales in the winter and relax and enjoy Maui’s breathtaking sunsets each and every evening of the year.

The property features an immaculately kept lawn area, a shuffleboard court, an on-site restaurant, a swimming pool and two BBQ areas. It sits next to the historic 16th century royal fish pond of Kalepolepo. The property is an excellent location for stunning sunsets, swimming, romantic beach strolling, and seasonal whale watching.

The complex is located minutes away from shopping and dining areas that will take care of all your vacation needs. Additionally, an authentic Indian restaurant - Monsoon India - with a full bar and spectacular views is conveniently located on the ground floor of the complex.

It has an excellent layout, wonderful views of Ma'alaea Bay and Maui Komohana (the West Maui Mountains) and a very convenient location. Small but efficient, we think #601 has everything necessary for a relaxing stay on the Valley Isle.

What makes this condo unique

Though the apartment is on the smaller side, it has a layout which provides privacy (and separate bathrooms) to each of the two bedrooms. The property may have been built in 1976, but our HOA takes great pride in keeping the building and the grounds (including the pool and ground floor barbecues) well-maintained and very clean. The views from the rooftop bbq area are also absolutely spectacular.

The Hawaiian Humpback Whale Sanctuary is our immediate neighbor; and information on the seasonal whale population can be obtained there. At the sanctuary you can also enjoy the best views on the island of the leaping, blowing whales that visit us each year to give birth and nurse in the warm waters.

Clean, comfortable and great location!

It is really well maintained. So handy that there is a bathroom for each bedroom. Location right on the beach is awesome. Pool and shuffle board was fun. Lots of barbecues available. We highly recommend the condo. It was a blast!

Unbeatable view for drinks on the deck.

We had an amazing honeymoon staying in this condo. The kitchen is fully stocked so we were able to stay in for breakfasts, and go out for nice dinners close by. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great Condo!

The condo was as described on the site. The view was spectacular, perfect every night. The roof area was awesome, it had bbq’s and chairs. The view was even better up there. It was very easy to access the pool and beach area (nothing was ever crowded). The inside was nice and comfortable and well laid out. It was stocked with everything you need to stay for over a week. We did have these little tiny ants in the kitchen. We had to store dry food in the fridge, not a big deal. We are from Northern California and not having ac was no problem. If you leave the doors open,the breeze was nice (day or nite). The fans cooled off the condo plenty. I am an amputee and I take off my leg at night and I sit in a wheelchair. I was able to get down to the pool and beach by using the elevator in my wheelchair. I could get around the condo fine as well. However, the bathroom doors are narrow (around 28 inches). I forgot my crutches, so I had to hop to the bathroom (bad planning on my part). If you have mobility issues, just bring crutches and a folding shower chair and you’ll be fine. Overall, I would recommend this condo and would stay again. A very well kept and stocked condo. Thanks again, we had a great week!
