Home away from Home
It was great staying in the home during my stay in San Antonio. By having such nice amenities it made the stay so much more enjoyable.
The view of the mountain and fields are wonderful ! Convienent location close to town while offering the privacy of being in the country.
The caretakers are onsite and very responsive and helpful with anything that may come up.
I will defenitly wish to stay here my next trip back as well it really made a difference in my trip.

very comfortable home in a semi-rural location
I am an American on my first trip to Asia, and by American standards, I find this house to be very comfortable with all the amenities I am used to from back home, notably hot water and air conditioning. The house is fully furnished and includes virtually everything necessary for living – including cooking utensils and even some spices. Being that I don’t like to crowd in to spaces, I’d say it is adequate for a couple and one other friend or child (there is a master bedroom and another smaller bedroom), although it could really accommodate more than that with its 2 bathrooms and large rooms. Depends on your comfort zone. The location is toward the end of a small road, set apart from other more closely-spaced properties, and among flat rice fields. The area is mostly a farming community and feels very safe to me. The caretaker family lives in a separate house on the same property, and they are very helpful and accommodating if any assistance is needed, but otherwise unobtrusive. There are several animals around. On the property, there are some dogs, a cat, and chicken and other birds (which are fenced in). Nearby and around the property there are water buffalo used to work on the rice fields, as well as some goats. There tends to be a pleasant breeze at night and strong sun during the day (as of early March). Generally speaking the weather is pleasant, especially at night. Depending on where you compare it to, there is not much noise, especially in daytime. At night, I think most people will consider it quiet, although it is common to hear distant music, dogs barking, and other “human noises” – but nothing too close. There is fresh produce and meat available nearby. Supermarket or mall-style shopping would probably require a trip to Subic – about an hour during the daytime, or 30-40 minutes in the middle of the night. However, there are a few nearby convenience stores (including 7-11) and restaurants. It’s easy to find once you’ve been here one time, and not many turns from Subic. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for western-style comfort and some space, and does not need to be in the middle of city conveniences and retail shopping, provided they are not expecting an absolutely remote location either. It is a good compromise between the two.
