FAQ's ; 1) Where is the villa located? Once you arrive at the resort drive to the one and only roundabout and head up the hill. The second road in the right is William Edwardson Lane. Go up William Edwardson and we are the second set of villas. Go to 535 and get the keys from the lock box.
2) Is their a BBQ? Yes there is. It is a BYO bottle though.
3) Do I have to clean the villa before I leave? No but we ask guests to strip the sheets, tidy up the unit, leave the dishes washed and empty the garbage.
4) Do we get access to the resort facilities? Yes - all of them are available to you. Payable services can be charged to your credit card and the great advice from the rangers at the resort reception is excellent (and at no charge!).
5) What should I do about groceries and alcohol? We suggest you buy that on the mainland. The best place for groceries is of course in Hervey Bay but there is a Foodworks (and a bottleshop) 700 meters from the Airport. In a pinch their is IGA at River Heads for groceries only. On the island there is a resort run convenience store with a limited supply of groceries, alcohol. It also has fuel.

The accommodation was really good. Will definitely stay there again. The only issues were no face washers, one set of towels for a week is not really enough, no tissues, there was only one roll of toilet paper, the couches and cushions were musty and the blue blankets were stained and a little smelly
Lovely host with great communication. The villa is lovely however it's a steep walk from all of the resort amenities so it's not the most pleasant thing to do after dinner or a few beverages. Unfortunately, the Aircon in the villa wasn't working and they put in a portable one to cool the villa down. It was extremely noisy and not very effective so our stay wasn't especially comfortable. Very little airflow so really needs fans installed or at least running the split system Aircon for the full duration of time to circulate some air. Villas equipped with everything that you need and is in decent condition.
Everything about the place was great. Clear instructions, communication and a comfortable place to stay with the family. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent property. Perfect location and very relaxing and quiet.
We really enjoyed our time at the Banksia Villa, Kingfisher Bay. The rooms were comfortable and and we had plenty of space for all the family. The location is nice and leafy and close to all the resort amenities.
Great size for a small family or 2 couples. Had all the items we needed for a week long stay. Property was clean. Bonus that we could use resort facilities. Would stay again.
Very neat and tidy villa, very spacious and excellent resort facilities. Typically have been 4wd campers to K’Gari, this time we decided to forego the camping and super glad we did. Highly recommend this accommodation and host. Thank you :)
My niece was married at Kingfisher Bay resort on Friday, so we made it a short stay, Thurs to Sun.
Tom was an amazing host, loved the Villa and he was so accommodating.
Thanks Tom 😊
All facilities met except for some consumables like disposable rubbish bag but other than the beds the property is dirty and cockroach was found.

Hi Thiam - thank you for the feedback. I see the rating is 4 star - this is below what we get almost all the time and take this very seriously. Feedback of any kind is always welcomed. It have been taken it on board and added these items to our checklist for items to review each in the future. Very sorry about the rubbish bag - when guests find they are in need for consumables we encourage them to contact us as there are always spares in the owner cupboard. We have recently replaced the mattresses but the tops weren't in place before you arrived - for that we are sorry. I am unclear as the which elements of the property were dirty. Hosting a island property is always a challenge and we do our very best but sometimes miss the mark. Again sorry about that. Insects are always a challenged - the property is built on a sand island so sometimes it is unavoidable. I hope this didn't detract from your stay terribly much. Tom.
Our stay at the bungalow treehouse at Kingfisher Bay Resort was comfortable and made for a great home base while exploring Fraser Island. The beds were cozy, and we loved unwinding on the balcony, which offered a lovely view of the surrounding nature. The resort’s location made it easy to access all the stunning beaches nearby.
However, the treehouse was slightly rundown and the loft was not ideal for young children—it felt too unsafe for them to use, so we opted to sleep downstairs on the couch. Despite this, it was still a pleasant and convenient place to stay.

About the host

We are a family of 4 - Zonya, Tom, Jake and Pearl. We bought what we call "Camp Saphire" back in 2004. I happened upon 535 while staying at Kingfsher and that was all it took. We live in Sydney and get there as much as we can.
Why they chose this property
Our little villa is not an investment - it's a life style. This purchase of the villa probably won't appreciate much with time but it is certainly getting more appreciation from us over time. It's cosy, gives access to one of the most wonderful places in the world to explore and provides all the comforts you could desire with a little bit or luxury thrown in. .
