Surrounded by 20 acres of field and forest, house is off rural rd perfect for getting away from it all! Several state parks and ski areas within 25 miles including nice walking area on Connecticut river. Vermont Country Store is 3 miles away, historic towns of Bellows Falls, Chester and Grafton all nearby.Town of Windsor just 20 miles north has Harpoon Brewery, Simon Pierce Glassworks and canoe outfitter.
No TV or internet service, decent cell phone coverage. Cafe and bookstore in town have WIFI.
Pets welcome!
Lots to do nearby or perfect spot to do nothing and relax.

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin. It was super cozy and had all the right touches. We especially enjoyed the kitchen and the quiet surroundings. We would definitely visit again!

I don’t know where to begin with how wonderful Donna’s cottage was. My husband and I came from California for some peace, quiet, and nature. We were overjoyed to find that the listing doesn’t even do this place justice. In CA I’m used to every listing hiding how close the properties are to each other with well shot angles where the neighbors are just out of frame.This place was so nestled in its own beautiful area where you could truly feel alone and at peace. The neighbors are separated by trees and felt so far away. I was so taken by this lovely clean and cozy place I think I took 400 photos of the property alone (not an exaggeration). Cooking breakfast in the kitchen with everything we needed, to the sound of bluejays and chickadees chirping in the trees. Enjoying the cozy gas fireplace on those wonderfully chilly nights curled up with good October books. Watching the sun rise and set through the many windows. This cottage felt new, was so clean, and so homey. Every direction we drove out we were surrounded by the turning fall foliage along charming roads, everything about this area was perfect. I hope we get to come out and stay here again, it was nothing short of magical. Donna was a wonderful and gracious host with perfect communication and I thank her so much for taking such great care of us.

Although we were only there for one night and didn't need any kitchen amenities, it was fully stocked with not only pots/pans, dishes, etc, but also spices and other treats. The house was clean and large enough for the 5 of us. It was charming and had a lot of character. The big dining room table afforded us the opportunity to play cards without being crowded. I can't even begin to describe how adorable this place is. We loved sitting on the porch and having our tea in the crisp morning air. We listened to and watched the birds in the big tree on the side. I wish we had more time to explore around the property. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

We have had limited experience with VRBO but this rental exceeded our exceptions. It is a lovely cottage with many wonderful features. The house was lovely and the kitchen outstanding with everything a traveller and a cook could ask for - coffee maker, utensils, condiments, etc. We appreciated that this was a pet friendly property and our golden retriever loved exploring the property and fields around after a 7 hour car drive. It was a very restful and peaceful place. We highly recommend it and will definitely use it again.

I needed a last minute stay with my pup and this property was perfect. The hosts were super accommodating and very responsive.The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. It was great to be so close to everything but the property was gorgeous and very quiet. I would stay again.

This is the third time we have stayed here and we are never disappointed. The cottage is immaculate and although there is no tv or internet- a plus for us- the cell phone service is great. The cottage is so rustic with beautiful wood and comfortable furniture and the kitchen has updated appliances with a gas stove and lots of counter space and cabinet space. The two full bathrooms are so convenient and the water pressure is great along with the hot water. The meadow view in the front is so beautiful from the large window and porch especially in the morning when there is almost always a ground fog making it look magical. There is a beautiful woods in the back and a nice yard to walk and play in. The house is close to Bellows Falls, a sweet little town with surprisingly a lot to do there. The Moon Dog Cafe is well with the trip for lunch or breakfast as well as the Flat Iron Cooperative, an awesome coffee shop and bakery. Donna the owner is great. She responds quickly and is so helpful with anything you need. On the back page of the instruction sheet at the cottage she has a list of other fun things to do from hikes to other nature activities and other towns to visit within a half hour of the cottage. We plan on going back next summer!

Vermont treasure for rest and digital disconnect.

Thankful for this tranquil home and surroundings that is dog friendly. We enjoyed our time at this home and surrounding acres. A great front porch to sit and relax on. We played board games, read books, made meals and explored Vermont’s shops, cafes, farms and farmer markets. It has everything you need to replenish your cup. We didn’t miss the TV or WIFi. It’s nice that places like this still exist. Our dogs give it a paw up, they embraced VT too.

Wonderful place to stay

Two week stay here was blissful. It was quiet, semi-remote with great wildlife views.Accommodation was spacious, comfortable and cosy when we had a few cool, wet days.

Perfect location to explore Southern/Central Vermont. Quiet, private, and beautiful. Our dogs love it here, as well. Donna is quick to respond to questions, and has a wealth of information on the area. We have stayed here numerous times and are looking forward to our next visit

Quiet Weekend

Peaceful Easy Living

Our host is the greatest. We had to change our reservation dates and she allowed us to with no issues. The property is a dream and everything was well thought of in advance. Plenty of linens, dishes and silverware. There is even laundry detergent supplied for your clothes. Donna the host even gave us suggestions on things to do. We can't wait to come back again.
