This amazing carriage house is located 1.5 blocks from Elk Avenue, mountain shuttle and all shops! Walk everywhere or take the town shuttle to the ski lifts. Enjoy a fenced back yard! We have all amenities... cable, wi-fi, large kitchen, hotel style linens and ... a HOT TUB! The fenced yard and the hot tub are shared with Hiding Hood guests vrbo#987176. Dogs are allowed for an extra fee of $100 per dog and must be on a leash at all times while in the property communal grounds.
This property offers 1 off street parking spot so guests don't have to deal with the winter parking regulations!
This property has just been renovated! It's the perfect location for a Summer or Winter rendezvous. The 1839 historic home is freshly remodeled.
Hiding Hood Carriage House accomdates 4 guests. We offer a king size bedroom and a queen size ben in the loft area with low roof. The stairs to the loft area are a bit steep.
Early Check-In: Available for an additional $40 fee. Please message us with any questions or to check availability for your dates.

The good:-location: walkable to everything; in the heart of downtown-hot tub: a nice treat after a long day of riding, hiking, etc and was well maintained-kitchen: updated and had everything we need-upstairs bed is comfortable-cleanThe not-so-good:-king size bed (downstairs): very soft, pretty worn out. Contacted host about this and didn’t get ver my far. It’s the kind where you sink in 6 inches when you lay down and are stuck in a rut. We were scheduled to stay 9 nights, had awful sleep for 8 and decided to leave a day early.-windows don’t open: only one window upstairs and two downstairs won’t open. Not only is this unsafe, in the hot months it makes the space intolerable. We had to leave the front door open to cool the place off at night… not ideal during bear season. Also, most windows have no screens and those that do, the screens are haphazardly stapled to the inside or outside of window frames. There were fans provided, which was nice.-foundation issues: the house is literally falling off its foundation. It is what it is in an older home, however it causes a lot of little issues. The master bed (king bed) slopes about 10 towards the headboard. The shower door won’t stay shut, as it’s on rollers.Overall the stay was… fine. It seems at one point the host had a lot of pride in this property and it was nicely remodeled, but has since been let go. There’s a lot of things that need work. After this experience, it’s unlikely I would rent with this host again.

Thank you for your feedback. We respect that every guest’s experience is different, but we would like to clarify a few statements. The home is not “falling off its foundation.” This is a 1939 historic home, as clearly disclosed in our listing, and it has some of the character and imperfections that come with its age. The home is also required to be inspected annually by a Town representative in order to maintain our rental license, so this statement is simply inaccurate. Regarding the windows, we would love to replace them. However, because this is a historic Crested Butte home, the Town and BOZAR have required us to preserve its historic character and have not allowed us to simply replace them. Fans are provided during warmer months. The bathroom barn door does have a lock and can be locked for privacy. The downstairs mattress is a Beautyrest plush-top, approximately 5 years old. We understand it was too soft for your preference, but mattress comfort is very subjective. We explained that replacing it during your stay within the timeframe requested was unfortunately not feasible. We’re glad you enjoyed the location, cleanliness, updated kitchen, upstairs bed and hot tub. The home also offers off-street parking, a great convenience downtown. We care deeply about this historic home and continue to maintain and improve it.

We stayed here for a race in town and it was a great location. Close to Main Street but quiet at night. The place was very clean and well appointed, and the off road parking spot was nice not to worry about winter parking regulations. My only detraction is that being a historic the heating is hard to manage at night, we’d try to turn down the heat so the loft wouldn’t overheat but then it would get quite cold. It would be helpful if the beds had some heavier blankets or a real comforter to keep warm at night.

Wonderful location and cozy setup
