We loved staying at this property. The house was ideal for a family gathering and is beautifully situated by the Delatite River, with lots of nice, shady places to sit and enjoy. Daniella, the host was great to deal with.
A wonderful spot to spend the weekend away. Our hosts were so helpful, and the property was the perfect place for my family of 12 to relax and enjoy Merrijig. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

The backyard was amazing with the clean, running river and a fireplace to sit and chat by. The house was very comfortable and accomodating and the owner was always helpful. All age groups ranging from 3 to 60, loved our stay.

Great house, great location
We stayed at Mountain River House for a quick spring ski trip. The house was perfect...very spacious, clean and welcoming. It's set right on the bank of the Delatite River which provides the most beautiful outlook and is just 5 minutes from the Mt Buller park entrance. We'll be back for a longer stay next time.

Thank you Dean. Yes it is magic in Summer the water is warm and more shallow to enjoy a swim right outside the back door. No reason to leave!
This is a beautifully maintained property that met all our expectations. The river and outdoor setting were our favorite and floating down the river every day and sitting under the waterfall was devine. We loved the house it had everything we needed for 4 families. Highly recommend.

A really special place with the house right on the beautiful Delatite river. We were a group of 11 adults who had a very relaxing time there, sitting round the fire pit outside, and dining inside with a warm fireplace. Good communication with Daniella.
If you are 2 or 3 families looking for accommodation in the area, don't look any further. The house offers all one needs and the scenery from back veranda is a bonus.
Communication with Daniella was super easy too. Thank you for sharing your home.
Looking forward to returning some other time too.
Highly recommended a stay here.

Fantastic Family Friendly Property.Great Location.
This is a great property. The house is fantastic for a couple of families. Layout is perfect with bedrooms seperated from living area. For summer the outdoor area is fantastic with a fire pit, outdoor dining table and the river well situated from the house. The river is shallow enough for the kids to play in. A 20 minute walk takes you to a great water hole for swimming. Everyone loved this stay. I highly recommend a stay with friends and family.

Thanks Narelle for your feedback we hope to entice you for Summer this year. I'm glad the kids loved the river in the summer.
What a stunning location, right on the banks of the Delattite river, at a home with all the amenity you could want! It was perfect for our group who wanted some time in nature, but also the comforts of a lovely home and backyard. We travelled with 10 adults and an infant who were all comfortable here excited by the beauty of the place and all that we experienced. Thank you to Daniella for being a fantastic host - communication, cleanliness and information were all excellent.

Thank you Govind for your lovely words. The location is perfect for all seasons, I'm not sure what my favourite is yet as they all have different things to offer. Glad you had a great time.
We spent a lovely long weekend in Merrijig. The house is great - very well appointed with everything we needed (and more) for a comfortable stay. On the sunny days, the kids loved playing in the (icy cold!) river at the end of the garden, followed by marshmallows over the fire pit under an incredibly starry sky. When the rain finally came we had a cosy fire indoors and a great selection of dvds. A very beautiful part of the world, and very generous hosts.

About the host
Hosted by Daniella
Two hard working parents of two energetic teenage boys. We love taking trips to Merrijig and always enjoyed going up to the Victorian High Country with our family hiking, skiing and cooling off in the river over summer. Travelling is something we love to do and we are always excited to explore more of Australia. We love to share our lovely home with you which we have restored over the years (Built in the 70s) since we fell in love in 2017.
Why they chose this property
We love the fact you can relax all day at the house and along the river, there is no need to get in a car sight seeing. We can fish, swim and go walking from the front door. If you feel like some action you can head up the mountains for hiking, skiing, road cycling or a shop in the lovely town of Mansfield only 15min drive away. The area is growing fast, so lots of new restaurants popping up which is always exciting as well as wineries close by.
What makes this property unique
Hearing the sound of the river from the house (from your bedroom in the morning) and the birds in the day are amazing. We never get bored of sitting on the verandah and just listening to the surrounds with a good coffee. Favourite memories are having lunch with family and friends under the walnut tree listening to the river.
