Overview

About the property

studio style apartment (330sq ft) with 1bath

We welcome you to our quiet neighborhood and "Tiny House" living. The very comfortable 330 sq. ft apartment is semi-attached to the back of the owner's house and is completely separate. It is nicely appointed with all the amenities you might need to make your stay enjoyable as well as relaxing. In the summer time, the patio is the perfect place to have a BBQ and enjoy a glass of wine. Because the apartment is small we have provided a shed for extra storage - Ski equipment, bicycles, luggage, golf clubs, etc. Across the street is access to the Crystal River from where many fishing guides depart. If you like to hike, Mushroom Rock is just minutes away. If golf is your game in 3 minutes you're at beautiful River Valley Ranch Golf course where you can enjoy a round with incredible mountain views. Our apartment is also situated within walking distance to downtown Carbondale where you can enjoy one of the many diverse restaurants and then catch a movie or a play.

Carbondale is a beautiful, quaint town with interesting shops and art galleries and fantastic restaurants. It is situated between Aspen (25 miles) with its world class skiing and Glenwood Springs (12 miles) with its world famous Hot Springs Pool.

My husband, Bill, and I are just a phone call away if you have questions or just need to be pointed in the right direction so you can explore the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley.

Adorable, hospitable, convenient

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Tiny House while visiting the area to take advantage of the hiking and scenery. The Tiny House is extremely well located - everything you need (grocery store, tavern, restaurants) is a short drive (or even 15 min walk). The owner Wendy is extremely nice, accommodating... and the Tiny House has everything you need and it's adorable, well decorated. Great shower and comfy bed.

Beautiful, cozy and romantic

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Tiny house for my birthday weekend. What a delight; Wendy has beautifully decorated this home and thought of everything. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The bathroom has a great shower and is stocked with fluffy white towels and more. We very much enjoyed the warm ambience of the fireplace and the bed was extremely comfortable. The neighborhood is very quiet and the view down the street of Mt. Sopris is gorgeous. You are just a few moments away from downtown where we experienced some great eateries; The Village Smithy has been a favorite of ours over the years and serves delicious breakfasts. A fun and vibrant place was the Carbondale Beer works where we joined in with the local zombie pub crawl; Great DJ and super friendly locals. The Marble Distillery is also definitely worth a visit; eco friendly production, neat vibe and award winning Vodka, the Bloody Mary was tasty and totally garnished up with strips of bacon😋 . We enjoyed walking around town and the local neighborhoods, took in a lovely hike on the nearby trail called The Lorax (less than 5 miles from the house) We strolled around the town of Redstone (be sure to stop in at the General Store) and had a lovely evening soak at ‘Penny’ the local hot springs in the river. Tiny House was a great place for us, super cozy and extremely comfortable and a romantic place for two. Thanks Wendy.

Tiny House heaven in picture-perfect Carbondale

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were delighted with every comfortable room and attractive detail of this thoughtfully equipped adorably perfect Tiny House and cannot wait to return to it for longer next time than the way-too-short two days we allotted for our first visit to the Roaring Fork Valley. We felt so cozily at home and so perfectly located for both in-town activities and exploring/hiking elsewhere in the valley. The bed was excellent; the nicely tiled shower was surprisingly spacious; the remote-controlled gas fireplace was romantic and appreciated on chilly late-October mornings and nights; the kitchen was well equipped; the patio was pleasant; the artwork and soft and hard furnishings alike were welcoming, well chosen and appealing. Everything was immaculately clean and in good working order. Loved the beautiful, quiet, established residential neighborhood with its street views of stunning Mt. Sopris, lovely mature trees, and proximity to the river — yet it’s so close to amenities like groceries as well as country roads, hiking, great restaurants and more. Homeowner Wendy was very responsive to our online inquiries about the rental prior to and after booking it and was warm/friendly and helpful when we met her briefly after we arrived; she made herself available to us via phone/text, but the rental was so well equipped/well maintained that we didn’t need any further assistance. We enjoyed complete privacy and felt as though we were alone on the property rather than sharing it with Wendy’s adjacent home. On Carbondale’s nearby (~1 mile) Main Street we ate at “Phat Thai” and found it fabulous (reservations recommended). We also dined (twice!) at Carbondale’s iconic “Village Smithy” (so many calories, so worth it!), and had a delicious meal on our last night at “The Goat.” Check out “Batch” (on Carbondale’s Main Street, directly opposite fab “Phat Thai”) for a terrific selection of craft brews in a classy-casual good-looking historic space. With just two days to spare and much of that taken up by hiking we never made it down to Aspen or up to Glenwood Springs (other than to pass through it arriving from and heading back to Denver via I-70), but we enjoyed exploring Redstone and remote Marble and strolling through the nearby town of Basalt and, of course, falling in love with our new favorite base for it all, Carbondale — a just-right-sized slice of awesome-looking unpretentiously sophisticated mountain heaven.

Exceptional accommodation in Carbondale

  • 5 of 5

This tiny house is beautiful! Wendy has thought of everything to make a stay easy and comfortable. She is also so knowledgeable about the area and offers great recommendations, from where to eat, shop or recreate. Choose this tiny house over any hotel/motel room. Much more personable and impeccable. This will be on our list for a yearly visit to Carbondale and the surrounding area.

perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Tiny House was the perfect accommodations for a couple, it was perfectly situated in Carbondale, which we were able to take advantage of local downtown restaurants, shops, Rio Grande biking trail, Aspen and Maroon Bells. Tiny House was perfectly equipped with all necessities. Appreciated the hosts attention to details--fresh flowers left on bedside tables was very nice. Very nice stay--highly recommended.
