Beautiful neighborhood, charming rental!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. Only drawback was that we needed a few more places to comfortably sit as a group,(table and livingroom) but otherwise, Great! The setting is perfect and home is exceptionally clean. Thanks for a wonderful weekend. Owner was very nice ! The Stephensons and Scotts

Beyond our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to the mountains of N. Carolina. At first we wanted to stay in a B&B, but found nothing to our liking. I had no idea where Black Mountain was in relation to our target area of Asheville, but the place looked so charming we took a chance. There is actually an upstairs unit with an extra bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Since it was just the 2 of us, Jason, our landlord, allowed us to rent only the upstairs. Black Mountain is a little over 20 miles from Asheville, but it is so worth the drive. The rental is situated at the end of a newer development of homes that was designed to replicate Merry Old England (hence the names of the streets). We arrived later than expected, but once in the apartment, we were delighted. It was immaculately clean and so well stocked. Jason knew we liked coffee so he went to a specialty store to pick up a local blend for us. He also left a bottle of California red wine for us to enjoy. Jason even recommended a restaurant in Swannanona which was fabulous. There are some good places in the nearby town of Montreat. The Cheshire development has some eating places, but I do not recommend The Artisan. We went in there our first morning in town and sat for 20 minutes during which time the woman that was making coffee for a party of 4 (the only other people in the restaurant) did not even make eye contact with us let alone acknowledge our presence. We left and went to Montreat for breakfast.

We will definitely rent this unit again when we return in the spring to look for property even though we are looking in Hendersonville is almost 40 miles away. Thank you, Jason. I left you a blow dryer as a thank you gift.

Best Host. Best House.

  • 5 of 5

Jason was an incredible host. He worked with our schedule and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is decorated beautifully, the beds are comfortable, everything is clean, and the neighborhood is so nice and quiet and safe. If you're visiting Asheville or surrounding area, this place is highly recommended.

Tree house views in charming Cheshire Village

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the proprietor accommodated us exceptionally. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. A page of informative instructions, wonderful showers, comfy beds, nice chairs and sectional sofa. Best part was the upstairs view through the many windows giving the sensation of being in a tree house. Friendly neighbors, great village center food and amenities. Liked the location at the end of a cul-de-sac as traffic was non-existent. Even spied a live bear while there! We were all agreed to return again when the opportunity arises. Thanks!
