The house has very generous spaces, large lounge and huge deck with stunning views toward the water and Albany. Fully fitted out and newly renovated kitchen.

At Foley, it offers rural and private space for traveller with all ages. From your wedding guests wanting to relax on their stay from overseas to couples romantic getaways. Or simply your next family reunion. Kids will be loving what the nature has to offer.
We have very friendly neighbours who respect and welcome all our guests.

Family Group Stay

We stayed at Foley Retreat for a family Wedding at the Boathouse, Riverhead. There were six of us staying at the property and it was excellent. Communication from the owner was brilliant and the property was very clean and well set up with everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying at Foley Retreat.

This property suited our needs for the size of our group. The water temperature in the en suite shower and kitchen sink was only just warm, but everywhere else was hot but didnt affect our stay lovely and quiet we woild return

Spacious, comfy and convenient

We stayed at the Foley retreat as we were up for a sporting event. It was a great house for kids and adults. Three bathrooms! And the games room was awesome. A lovely lounge and dining area and spacious kitchen.

Staying at this property was awesome, everything you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. Great weather deck was amazing to be on with family. Plenty of room to accommodate keeping everyone happy. Nice peaceful location. Communication was clear and hosts were very accommodating. If ever back in the area would definitely stay again.

Spacious house in relaxing setting

This lovely house worked well for our party of three adults and two children. All rooms were spacious and attractive: the garage conversion as a pool and games room was a real bonus. Although feeling slightly remote in a lovely setting some way along a cul-de-sac, we were close to motorway and other main roads to everywhere we wanted to reach for shopping, family visits, and other excursions into North Shore, West Auckland and Rodney. We should be very happy to return for a future visit.

Overall the house was great .. very spacious but it was hot in the bedrooms with not enough fans The air conditioner in the lounge did not work very well Despite this we enjoyed our stay

Quiet place in the countryside surrounded by birds

Of the four vacation rentals we stayed at in New Zealand, this was our favorite by far. Our favorite part of this place was all the birds we saw from the many windows looking out over the countryside. This place is perched high on a ridge so you have a view for miles in every direction. The game room was a lot of fun. Even though my family doesn't play foosball or pool, we still had a blast trying these games out. We were a little worried about the heat in the bedrooms, which are in a wing of the house far from the heat pump in the main area of the house. However, the house cooled down very quickly in the early evening with open windows.

Expected better

From the details, reviews and pictures of the property we expected things to be excellent! Pictures were the same as first listed and not as you find it. DVD player not there, deck chairs not there, fire pit not there, plus other items. Property very dirty, mould on things and walls, damp, musky smelling, smell of smoke in bedrooms. Wardrobe doors hanging off, drawers unable to open, curtains mouldy etc etc. We messaged Vrbo as soon as we saw the condition of the property also the owner Claire. Claire did send in cleaners for a clean, they did a good job. However we could not use the downstairs apartment as the damp and mould smell made one of our party cough. It would be a good idea if there was a book of instructions for tv, dishwasher, rubbish collections etc instead of sticking laminated details on the kitchen wall. A comments/idea page too for the owner to take note and enhance peoples stay. We certainly left the house cleaner than we found it. The whole house needs a lot of repairs doing to it.

Peaceful with great views

My daughter's and I had a very relaxing long weekend watching sunrises, the native birdlife and enjoying the peace and quiet. It was great to have a foosball and pool table for entertainment when it was raining. Kitchen was well equipped and it was easy to find everything. Communication with Claire was great and is a very accomodating host. We look forward to staying again.

Amazing house

This was a lovely place to stay. Beautiful start to the morning seeing the sun rise over the hills. Playing darts & pool in the garage was fun for all ages. The area downstairs was perfect for our teenager with their own space & basketball outside. Thank you
