About this property
The architect's warehouse in Mouat Fremantle
The Architect’s Warehouse on Mouat Fremantle.
Before you read on, please note that we are unable to accept self-quarantine guests due to a shared foyer and shared outdoor areas.
Rarely will you come across a short-stay property of the standard offered by The Architect’s Warehouse Apartment on Mouat, Fremantle.
A truly sublime space for those looking to stay somewhere very special.
Enter via wrought iron gates on Mouat Street into a courtyard that features a towering plane tree. Take the lift or the stairs to the first floor where you will come across the historic barn doors that mark the entry to your apartment.
A Turkish rug in the foyer sets the scene for what’s behind the front door.
Four-meter-tall ceilings and sleek lines greet you as you walk into the light-filled open plan living area.
It’s a minimalist, sleek, and tranquil space, tastefully furnished in a relaxed style.
A separate scullery, full laundry, and library are hidden from view - leaving the living area uncluttered and serene.
The master bedroom is a calm place: sizeable and spacious, featuring a king bed with quality linens. Two large windows frame the plane tree view behind the bed. A cleverly designed ensuite, like the other utility rooms, is concealed behind floor to ceiling panels.
Fully furnished and equipped, this property has luxury features including an intercom system and Netflix, complimentary toiletries and Wi-Fi. It is air conditioned and has a gas fireplace.
Attention to detail here has not been spared.
The apartment is located opposite the Notre Dame University entrance on Mouat Street, in close walking distance to just about everywhere in Fremantle. The High Street galleries, Cappuccino strip, and Bather’s Beach are in the immediate vicinity and there is no real need for a car when you stay at the Architect’s Warehouse on Mouat. We will reimburse paid street parking for one standard vehicle if you do have a car. There is timed meter parking in front of the property and all-day parking within a three-minute walk.
Built into the imposing façade of the Strelitz buildings, the apartment retains some endearing features of this historic building. Look up in the entry to see a magnificent wooden beam and pulley used in times past to transport goods between the levels.
The Strelitz Buildings, located at 30 Mouat Street, Fremantle, were built in 1897 for Paul and Richard Strelitz. In October 1994, the buildings were permanently listed on the Western Australian State Heritage Register.
A notable tenant, between 1904 and 1906 was Herbert Hoover, then a mining engineer for Berwick Moreing & Co that had an office in the building. Hoover later became the 31st President of the United States.
Enjoy a unique experience when you stay at the Architect’s Warehouse Apartment on Mouat Fremantle!
