We loved meeting Wendy and her animals. She and the dogs gave us a full tour of the farm, which was beautiful. The lodging was clean and well stocked, and we slept well.

Wendy was helpful and informative in getting our work team comfortable while we stayed for the week. Room had everything we needed and made to feel welcome right the way through!
Wendy communicated really well before hand so no problems there. Was there at check in and welcomed us and showed us around and introduced the dogs! The property was fantastic to walk around, engage with the animals and get involed as much as we wanted - without any pressure. The puppies were a fantstic suprise and the hardest part of this trip was not to go home with a new puppie.Myself/ my wife and two daughters loved the stay and will come back.Highly recommended!
Clean and well stocked cottage with the added benefit of lots of farm animals and outdoor space. Our family loved our stay, thank you for having us and being so flexible with dates.
Lovely quiet surroundings with nice facilities in the bach. Very welcoming owner and a great array of animals to see. As country people we were quite impressed. Would stay again.

Thank you for staying Martin. We enjoyed listening to your Cello practice. The sound added a touch of class to the farm! Please come again, for longer next time. Thank you for leaving the unit in immaculate condition.
Great stay on an active lifestyle block with 8 dogs (8 tiny puppies), 2 pigs and a small herd of sheep. Wendy welcomed us and gave us a tour of holding including animals, creek and native bush. We were also lucky enough to see 2.5 week old collie puppies. Accommodation is modern, clean and well designed. Easy 10 minute drive into fielding for food. Thank you Wendy we enjoyed our stay.

About the host

Having lived in Hawkes Bay since 1996, I felt it was time for a change. I had wanted a lifestyle block for some time and when this opportunity presented itself I took it! But I knew the property was never going to be just for me. With the stream and the native bush it was just too special. I wanted to 'open it up' so many others could also share this space with me. This property lent itself to accommodating others through providing the self contained unit and overflow inside my house. I can also provide a space for campervans. A total of 3 different accommodation options. I hope one of them will suit you. We are also open for day visitors. I am a PE and Health Secondary teacher by profession, who, after 25 years, left full time teaching in 2014 so I could pursue my Essential Oils and massage business. I have set up my clinic here at Makino Road. Inquire about having a Vibrational Raindrop Massage with Essential oils while you're here. You won't be disappointed!
Why they chose this property
My home in Hastings had been extensively used through the Home and Away network for the past 3 years. It was lovely meeting people from all over the world who had come for various reasons to Hawkes Bay. I wanted to purchase a property here in the Manawatu that I could also open up to guests.
What makes this property unique
Take the time to wander a long the stream, sit by the water, enjoy the native birds and numerous flora. This is a special place, with so much to appreciate. Book in for a therapeutic- grade massage with Young Living Essential Oils. You will be happy you did! And if you really need to get in to town, it's only 10 minutes away.
