About the property

Stunning lakefront fully furnished home with great water views from every room! Tastefully designed and decorated with an open floor plan including 2 living rooms (each with gas fireplace and flat screen TV's), 3 bedrooms, 2-1/2 bathrooms including a beautiful Master Suite bathroom. Sleeps up to 8 comfortably! Besides the beautiful views, everything you need is right here! Beautiful waterfront, privacy, convenience and tranquility. Cable TV, WIFI , air conditioning and full laundry are all provided. Included is a 50 foot dock for your boat, great swimming and great fishing in the lake with a variety of fish. Also includes kayaks, paddleboat, large elevated deck overlooking the lake, a large two-tier stone patio at the water with a great fire pit area. If you're a bird watcher there is a surprising variety of birds on the lake, including Bald Eagles, Eastern Kingfishers, Hummingbirds, Owls and various Hawks, just to name a few.

This house is situated well to catch the prevailing Summer breeze from the lake. Open the windows and let the fresh air carry right through the house, and take in the panoramic view of this beautiful place... West-facing, you get an incredible sunset over the water every day!

Take a short bike ride to the Cape Cod Canal or a short car ride to famous local sandy Cape Cod beaches.

Great restaurants abound on the Cape (we have recommendations). Go on a whale watch or deep sea fishing charter. There are also a number of beautiful golf courses in the area for both the casual and the avid golfer (recommendations available on them as well).

Also, don't forget the shopping. Cape Cod is full of quaint shops as well as larger outlets.

This home is perfect for an active family or is perfect as a quiet get-away.

You will definitely want to come back!

(Please note; our house is not toddler-proofed; may not be suitable for small children - sorry!)

Unbeatable lake view!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying at this beautiful lake house. So restful and comfortable, and all you could ask for, including availability of kayaks and pedal boat. Even in the latest heat wave, the breeze off the water allowed us to keep windows open and enjoy the fresh air and fall asleep at night to the sounds of the water lapping the shore. Location is great, lots of restaurant and shopping options in the area.

A lovely house; works for any combination of friends or relatives

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for 3 weeks and so had a good opportunity to get a sense for the house and area. This house is so nice and is a great setup for having guests. We loved the open concept upstairs and all the glass looking out on the lake. The master bedroom and bath are one of the best we've seen anywhere. The landscaping with the patios, stonework and variety of places to sit and eat outside are also great, allowing for sitting in sun or shade. The house had everything you could want and puts you spitting distance from Cape Cod, bike trails, some museums and restaurants. We frequently saw blue and grey herons and Osprey along with lots of baby ducks and geese. Also some pretty persistent birds! Don't leave your food outside and walk away.

Groceries are 3 minutes away! Although the house is on a residential street, the positioning of the house on the lot provides an amazing amount of privacy.

One thing to point out that was a surprise to us was the wind. We came with kayaks, bikes and a sailboat and were looking for wind to sail. But we had multiple days where it was sooo windy you could not sail, certainly not kayak and we couldn't even sit outside. The next door neighbor indicated that the amount of wind we experienced was pretty typical. So, just know that you may have days like this when the wind whips up from Buzzards Bay and just makes being on the lake pretty tough. When this happened we left the house; went to Miles Standish State Forest or over to the Cape to get out of the wind. Certainly lots to do away from the house to help deal with the wind.

Wind aside we really enjoyed our stay and this lovely house. The photos are accurate- it really is this nice!

Relaxing, Hidden Piece of Paradise!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week away. Though semi-local for us, we always enjoy the Plymouth area to recharge, and 'fantasy live' on the waterfront. Many thanks to Sue and Bob for sharing their Lakefront Home with us. There is always a learning curve to be had with any rental. The water view of this property enables you to adjust quite nicely. We would definitely rent again.

Overall Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a great experience. I have a job that requires extensive travel and usually months on end at the local hotels. I decided to reach out to the Marshall's who opened up there home for a month and made my work seem more like a vacation. I will definitely reach out again if I am in the area.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

Had a truly wonderful week at Bob and Susan’s beautiful lake house! The views were stunning and the house was spacious and cosy. The fishing off the dock was great and it was a very short drive to the lovely beaches. We’ll be sure to return to this beautiful spot! Thanks Bob and Susan!

This location is perfect if you are looking for a vacation on Cape Cod but don't want to deal with the bumper to bumper traffic. We are located near the canal on the mainland side of the bridges which means you can get to our the house through back roads and avoid bridge traffic.

The prime location of our house allows for many options to plan day trips to Boston, Plymouth Center, or if you want to go to the beach without crossing the bridge there are a handful of beautiful sandy beaches just a short distance (Scusset, Onset, Sagamore). For the children – the Water Wiz water park (featured in the recent movie Way Way Back) is also minutes away.

Scusset beach is located at the canal inlet, has plenty of parking and is a great beach to spend the day. It also offers great salt water fishing from the jetty and a fishing pier located in the canal. Scusset is about a 5-10 minute drive. You can also get there on bike traveling along the scenic Cape Cod Canal bike & walking trail (about a 30 minute bike ride to Scusset starting from the house). The bike ride from the house is for adults only as the ride requires about a mile along the main road This is not advisable for small children and/or road style bikes its best to park at the canal public parking area and start the ride there. .

Going 'On Cape' opens you up to some of the best beaches in the world. You can even ferry out of Woods Hole (and take your car with you) to explore Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket for a day or more. Don't miss the free Oceanographic Museum at Wood's Hole; where you can picnic outdoors while enjoying the ship scenery, live seal shows and even a hands-on area.

Other possibilities include world class golf courses, wineries and all kinds of restaurants & dining experiences both on and off the Cape. Of course spending quality down time at the lake house is a must - you may even find that after showing up to the cottage and settling in, that you don't want to leave!
