Our stay did not start off the greatest. When we arrived to the property the door was unlocked, made us feel uneasy at first. The place was dirty, bathroom floor was dirty, hair in the shower on the walls, couch cushions had a bunch of crumbs and dirt underneath them. Don’t bother trying to cook with the pans they provide, bring your own. Lastly we found cockroaches in the place. And when contacting the person we set things up with she decided to quit responding to our texts and never answered back about our issues. We ended up leaving the night before we had to check out, due to everything we experienced. Also it says that point of contact for any issues is the owner, but don’t bother calling because he “lives 100 miles away and knows nothing about the place”.

It was hard to unlock the door. The couch was gross. The floor had a huge stain when I stepped in it, it was crunchy, the sample alarm was chirping. I changed the battery. There was only one roll of toilet paper. No hair dryer, no laundry detergent. The internet and tvs didn’t work. I called and it didn’t get fixed. The AC dripped water all over the carpet. This place was my very first and last VRBO. I was very disappointed.

Please don’t stay here. Deck’s old and dirty. The steps are uneven as well as the deck walking to the front door. Door frame rotted at the bottom. We walked in and the metal piece from the floor heater was falling off. Couch was very worn and discolored. Stove nobody would want to cook off that. Bathroom had hole in the wall near the toilet. With discolored wall. No soap in the dispenser. Upstairs very warm and the thermostat didn’t work. Patio screen was torn at least 2 ft. I would like my money back. Please have someone email me. Thank you for your time.

Unprofessional

The deck keading up to the entry door was in disrepair. The tresses/joints that secured the deck to the house were fully detached. Multiple loose boards present. Poor maintance of the old wood left dangerously slippery surfaces. My daughter in law literally fepl through the deck while leave, causing excessive bruising and several days of discomfort. When the property manage was xontacted, we were told to contact the owner. Cal placed to owner, voicemqil left, not a single attempt made from him to return the call or even a text message. When we first arrived, we made the oroperty manage aware that the internet was nonfunctional and there was no response to that either. The stove top wasnt conducive to preparing a meal, nor were there even half decent pots/pans to cook with. More than one cockroach was seen and killed. While I was definitely looking forward to this trip and knew the place wasnt 'top notch', it was far worse of an experience than I would have ever imagined.

Cabin was rustic with a lock that was broken and difficult to turn on/use. Attempted to contact listed party 3 times or more with NO response ( regarding wi-fi [non-existant], door lock, and a forgotten item.

PAY ATTENTION (Night mare and frustrations )

Our experience was horrible.We wanted to spend Christmas with my wife and two children and when we arrived after seeing and checking out the cabin, we spoke to the assistant and the owner of the property and told them that we will not stay in those conditions and the owner told me that if I live the property, he would return the money for the amount of those five days of stay, so we returned and until today January 14th 2025 he has not answered the phone and has not returned my only money that I had for those days with my family.-Ice at the entrance of the house with the danger of falling and hurting ourselves.-Very few ambient lights and some did not work.-The only fireplace and gass (no wood ) it did not work.-Couch in greasy condition due to how old they are and excessive use.-Very dirty carpets that we did not even want to walk on socks .-Greasy kitchen furniture.-Dining room chairs in conditions that were falling apart due to failure of maintenance.-On the second floor, a lot of trash behind the headboards and smelly beds-Sliding front glass door stuk with a piece of wood so it can't slide because it doesn't have a lock-If you look at the ceiling, you'll see spider webs everywhere, and I'm not exaggerating.-TV cable didn’t work properly and some few basic tv channel-Don't even mention the bathroom.I'm very frustrated for lying to us and stealing from us.If they had given me my money back, I wouldn't write what we saw.Don't lose your money, don't go...

What to expect

The space looks exactly how it does in the pictures. Some of the reviews are spot on with mentions of bugs and things of that nature but keep in mind the space is in the woods. some things could use deep cleaning and a bit of modernizing but the space was comfortable over all. You can tell the home has lots of and just needs a bit of TLC. The host was extremely responsive, personable and insightful. they came out during our stay to lay down extra salt for the snow as well as to walk us through some things. They even recommended an AMAZING bakery/quick breakfast shop (Donut-z and More. HIGHLY RECOMMEND) My family had an amazing, very relaxing weekend once we settled in. The space is perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind.

Weekend getaway

This place is perfect for a weekend getaway. It is a very clean property but does need some updating with the kitchen ware. The property manager is amazing! Molly specifically was easy to communicate with by quick responding to any questions and was kind in general. I would stay again for a weekend.

This property was NOT clean spider webs and centipedes were all around. It was very run down. The firplace did not work, the deck looks like you could fall through and the interior lighting had a individual switch for each light and all the lighting was very very dim. Lots of things were broken or barely working including the fireplace, TVs, and A/C. The fridge was making insanely loud noises all night keeping us awake. The sofa was disgusting. The neighborhood pool had no lounge chairs or bathrooms. It was not a very pleasant vacation

Could be better

When I booked I knew the property itself would be dated. I was totally ok with that. But there were some issues with the house that could be better that has nothing to do with the age or decoration. 1- the bathroom : the toilet paper holder was broken and just left hanging on the wall in disarray. 2- the grill was dirty and unusable 3- the kitchen: the house can be rented for up to 8 people and there are only cups and dishes for maybe 4 people. In addition there is very little cookware. I very small frying pan and a few very small pots. The community is very nice. The clubhouse had a nice pool and beach area. I would recommend this property if you don’t mind rustic accommodations and have 4 or less people.
