Our stay did not start off the greatest. When we arrived to the property the door was unlocked, made us feel uneasy at first. The place was dirty, bathroom floor was dirty, hair in the shower on the walls, couch cushions had a bunch of crumbs and dirt underneath them. Don’t bother trying to cook with the pans they provide, bring your own. Lastly we found cockroaches in the place. And when contacting the person we set things up with she decided to quit responding to our texts and never answered back about our issues. We ended up leaving the night before we had to check out, due to everything we experienced. Also it says that point of contact for any issues is the owner, but don’t bother calling because he “lives 100 miles away and knows nothing about the place”.

It was hard to unlock the door. The couch was gross. The floor had a huge stain when I stepped in it, it was crunchy, the sample alarm was chirping. I changed the battery. There was only one roll of toilet paper. No hair dryer, no laundry detergent. The internet and tvs didn’t work. I called and it didn’t get fixed. The AC dripped water all over the carpet. This place was my very first and last VRBO. I was very disappointed.

Cabin was rustic with a lock that was broken and difficult to turn on/use. Attempted to contact listed party 3 times or more with NO response ( regarding wi-fi [non-existant], door lock, and a forgotten item.

Weekend getaway

This place is perfect for a weekend getaway. It is a very clean property but does need some updating with the kitchen ware. The property manager is amazing! Molly specifically was easy to communicate with by quick responding to any questions and was kind in general. I would stay again for a weekend.

Hiking in Poconos

We didn’t spend too much time on the property. Mostly to shower and sleep at night. Very clean. Great quiet neighborhood. Central to the State Parks we were visiting.

Just as the other reviews say

Lots of things were broken or barely working including the fireplace, TVs, and A/C. The fridge was making insanely loud noises all night keeping us awake. The sofa was disgusting. The neighborhood pool had no lounge chairs or bathrooms. It was not a very pleasant vacation

What to expect

The space looks exactly how it does in the pictures. Some of the reviews are spot on with mentions of bugs and things of that nature but keep in mind the space is in the woods. some things could use deep cleaning and a bit of modernizing but the space was comfortable over all. You can tell the home has lots of and just needs a bit of TLC. The host was extremely responsive, personable and insightful. they came out during our stay to lay down extra salt for the snow as well as to walk us through some things. They even recommended an AMAZING bakery/quick breakfast shop (Donut-z and More. HIGHLY RECOMMEND) My family had an amazing, very relaxing weekend once we settled in. The space is perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind.

LOCATION IS GREAT, CLEANING IS REALLY SAD. YOU HAVE SPIDER WEBS EVERY WHERE, SOFA AND BEDDING STINKS. WE END UP BUYING OUR OWN BED SHEETS . WIFI IS VERY WEAK ALWAYS REBOOT. This property was NOT clean spider webs and centipedes were all around. It was very run down. The firplace did not work, the deck looks like you could fall through and the interior lighting had a individual switch for each light and all the lighting was very very dim. Run down as if owner doesn’t want to put money into it. Check out 10. But trash dump not open till 11. Address for trash wrong. Yard full of dog poop. We were told we had to pick up parking pass afterwards and lady at front desk said we should’ve picked it up. Wanted to grill but grill was replaced with a smoker. 1 metal fork.

Could be better

When I booked I knew the property itself would be dated. I was totally ok with that. But there were some issues with the house that could be better that has nothing to do with the age or decoration. 1- the bathroom : the toilet paper holder was broken and just left hanging on the wall in disarray. 2- the grill was dirty and unusable 3- the kitchen: the house can be rented for up to 8 people and there are only cups and dishes for maybe 4 people. In addition there is very little cookware. I very small frying pan and a few very small pots. The community is very nice. The clubhouse had a nice pool and beach area. I would recommend this property if you don’t mind rustic accommodations and have 4 or less people.

Unprofessional

The deck keading up to the entry door was in disrepair. The tresses/joints that secured the deck to the house were fully detached. Multiple loose boards present. Poor maintance of the old wood left dangerously slippery surfaces. My daughter in law literally fepl through the deck while leave, causing excessive bruising and several days of discomfort. When the property manage was xontacted, we were told to contact the owner. Cal placed to owner, voicemqil left, not a single attempt made from him to return the call or even a text message. When we first arrived, we made the oroperty manage aware that the internet was nonfunctional and there was no response to that either. The stove top wasnt conducive to preparing a meal, nor were there even half decent pots/pans to cook with. More than one cockroach was seen and killed. While I was definitely looking forward to this trip and knew the place wasnt 'top notch', it was far worse of an experience than I would have ever imagined.

IN NEED OF UPGRADE

The quietness and area was absolutely amazing. However, alot of upgrades is needed, such as, new table and chairs because it was wobbly and almost at it's breaking point, the outside of house has green mold all over, the chairs outside were dirty, the toilet wasn't working properly and alot of the dishes and utensils weren't clean. There wasn't enough pots or pans or even tea or coffee available. The couch needed to be replaced, as well as the carpet however was manageable. Overall, it was ok. Would I go back? If upgrades take place, then yes I would. Thank you for the experience though.

Sad little crooked house

Unsafe deck that leans and is slippery with mold(almost fell).Reason for renting was the fireplace and it didn't work. Propane tank read empty, owner said it still had 45 lbs but nobody fixed it. TV remotes w/o batteries. Bought batteries but remotes didn;t match tv's. Instruction book needs updating. Mentioned gas grill, only found a rusty charcoal grill nobody would ever use.Instructions never mentioned I needed to turn on 6 breakers to get heat. Spent first night cold.Over all just disappointing. A lot of money for nothing. I'll go back to ABnB.
