About thomas k sweeney
My wife and i have owned our property for eleven years. We built the studio/guest house in 2008. I am an oil painter and needed a large studio to do my work and the large guest suite seemed like a natural fit for visiting relatives. For several years we have used home away for our own vacations and so it dawned on us that other people might enjoy our place as much as our relatives have.

A nice desert retreat...
Very peaceful, private retreat. A great place to hang out and easy access to the Catalina Mts. Hikes, picnicing, great views and easy to get to all that Tucson has to offer. Saguaro National Park, Desert Museum, art, thrift shops etc.
Best place ever to enjoy Tucson
My wife and I have stayed at the "desert house" for a couple of years now......honestly we would not stay anywhere else. It is always very clean, quite, private, relaxing. On our most recent stay we had some issues with our vehicle and Tom went above and beyond to give us some assistance.

Thanks Tim and Abbie,
It's been a couple of years that you have been coming here and we love it when you do! It will be great to see you next year also, and we are holding that time period you gave to us as a tentative date for your return!.

Marvelously quite location
Exactly as represented. The Trader Joe coffee was great; we bought some to bring back.
Easy location to get around from, golf close buy and a trip up to MT Lemmon was great, waited for the sunset on the way down.
We're glad to have had you with us. i'm going to have to recommend driving down Mount Lemmon at sunset there are some great turnouts from which to view and photo the massive landscape of the mountain along with some terrific sunsets.

Javalina Homestead the perfect spot to make more memories.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the foothills of the Catalina Mts. Wow, the beauty all around was stunning. We loved relaxing with coffee on the back patio after a day of exploring! Our accommodations were wonderful- private, quiet, safe, comfortable, with everything we needed for our weeks visit to the desert including wildlife in the back yard. This was a great location for seeing the many sights of the Tucson area, easy access to hiking, shows, gardens, museums, historical attractions, shopping, and restaurants. We couldn't have had a more memorable anniversary!
thanks Jennifer, we're glad you enjoyed our place. we hope you consider us for your next visit to tucson.

Very comfortable and quiet with beautiful views in all directions.
The property was exactly as described. Thomas was a gracious host. The location was convenient to Mt. Lemmon and Sabino Canyon as well as restaurants and shopping. The privacy of the guest house allowed us to relax and enjoy the warm afternoons and colorful sunsets in peace and quiet. We intend to return to Tucson and Javelina House is where we will want to stay.
Thanks a lot guys. Bonnie and i have tried to make the place like somewhere we would stay during visits we've made around the country.

Nice clean place, private good views. Limited cooking capabilities. Wash dishes in bathroom sink..poor internet. Barking dogs.
The detractions Paul mentions are barking dogs, doing dishes in the bathroom, poor internet. The dogs are hundreds of feet from ou suite and across the road and no other guest we have had have has ever mentioned this. We take pride in the peace and quiet we have provided with double pane windows and foam insulation throughout the suite. They were neat and tidy guests but they must have missed in our property description that most of the dishes and cutlery were disposable. The internet which we detail in
our website and the guest binder material has been good for some depending on their devices and our Netgear AC1900 Router and DST. We know that some visitors need good internet and we have been upgrading as soon as viable products come on line.

We are located in the far northeast corner of Tucson, in the Tanque Verde Valley at the base of Mount Lemmon. The Saguaro National Monument East is a short drive of five miles. Mount Lemmon offers hiking ,back packing, rock climbing, winter skiing, and is world renowned for bicycle riding events. Also you can find various horseback riding facilities nearby and we have a barn and large arena facilities for your use with advance notice.
