Unique Eastside Container Home - Near UT, Train & Downtown

Welcome to Eastside Container, a sleek and modern guest home converted from a shipping container in Central East Austin. This is a fully functional home with a contemporary and industrial design with many unique features, including a 40 foot shipping container, original wood and metal floors and a tri-panel set of 8 foot doors that slide and pivot to open the living area to the outdoors. Recessed lighting, wood walls and counter tops throughout, high quality leather furniture and lots of windows and light complete this cozy and inviting abode. 30 day rentals.

Although the space is small, many amenities await, including a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, full bath with a custom tiled shower, LED flatscreen Smart TV with cable, full washer/dryer, queen size bed and a deck with a completely fenced in yard.

All linens, towels, dishes and cookware are provided as well as coffee, soaps and bath products.

The home is located inside a completely fenced in compound with private driveway, parking spot and security gate.

Come hang out on the Eastside. This is tiny living at its finest!

Guests will have complete access to entire house and yard. Nothing is shared.

The hosts are long-time residents of Austin and are available to offer tips, recommendations and general guidance if needed or can be completely invisible if you prefer.

Eastside Container is conveniently located in the heart of East Austin, close to the MLK train Station, downtown and UT campus, including UT's baseball, basketball and football stadiums. Very convenient to many great bars, restaurants, and live music venues on E. 6th St., Manor St., E. 11th St. and the Red River district. Some of the best BBQ joints in the state are almost within smelling distance, including, Franklin, La Barbecue, Mueller's, Mickelthwaite Kerlin and Sam's.

Your own car is highly recommended while visiting Austin, as the public transportation system here has something to be desired. That being said, you are a 10 minute walk to the MLK train station which runs to and from downtown (but not too late).

It is a short drive to downtown or UT, less than 5 minutes, or about a $6 cab or Uber ride.

Convenient stay

Beautiful Stay In a Great Location

Easy to check in, great appliances, clean, smartly decorated, and fun to say you’re staying in a shipping container. Owner was very quick to respond. The patio makes for a great spot to soak up the sun. I will be staying here during my next visit to Austin.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property for a concert happening same day, and it was the perfect place to rest after seeing the show. Very close to amazing food and bars, owners of the property worked with us last minute when we had an issue with a sitter, very happy and would stay again.

Grand Stay for the Grand Prix

My wife and so stayed here when in town for the US Grand Prix. The space was perfect for an on-the-go weekend and had everything we needed. It’s located just outside of downtown in a great neighborhood with a zillion amazing food options nearby. It was also a quick drive to the bus station we used to go back and forth to the Grand Prix. Highly recommend!

Unique and private container home

This place was a great tucked away spot to stay in east Austin plenty close to everything you need. It has all the amenities you need including a dishwasher, stove, fridge and washer dryer and a spot to park. Really fun container home design and very private.

This little container was very cozy to stay in for two people. It was very clean when we got there. The only things I would have to say that could be improved on is the showerhead because very little water comes out. But overall, it’s very close to many popular things in Austin, Texas!

Fun Container House

I've always wanted to try a "tiny house" and this was super fun. It was bigger than I expected. Plenty of room for 1-2 people. With a few tweaks it would be perfect.

Unique Space - Centrally Located

This was a last minute booking when my husband and I needed a place to stay for a night in Austin. The space was perfect for us - much larger than we expected, very private, really cool decor, and centrally located to all the main Austin attractions. Loved the off-street parking, great communication with host, and deck to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Would not hesitate to rebook. Highly recommend!

Small space with BIG personality

This home was just the right size for two people! We enjoyed the privacy of the home tucked back into the yard. It was decorated so thoughtfully and it had all the accommodations you would need for a home away from home. It was very clean and the location was the best part! Only an 8 minute ride to 6th street and 10 minutes to south congress. Great restaurants located near by as well! Great place to stay for couples wanting to get away!

This lovely creation was just the quite piece of heaven we were looking for. We were presently surprised by everything that you didn't know you needed but Jason and Meredith thought about it all... perfect touches to make dinner, enjoy the outdoors from within, get all cleaned up for a night out, or simply relax and sleep better than you would imagine. Tucked away in peaceful surrounding, under a beautiful oak tree, it's just what you might be looking for. I highly recommend this listing, you won't regret it and surely never forget it!
