We loved this lakefront cottage. We stayed for 3 nights. It was spacious enough for 8 adults and 5 children. We loved using the canoe and kayaks on the lake, the hot tub was so fun for kids and adults, we had bonfires every night, and the home was equipped with everything that we needed. Nick was very quick with responses. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!

Bear Lake getaway

We had two lovely weeks in this attractive cottage on Bear Lake. The grandkids fished and were delighted by the frogs, toads and hummingbirds they saw. The small beach is perfect for small children.

Wonderful getaway, a hidden gem

Very family friendly, well stocked, great and thoughtful amenities, and responsive host communication. The lake front view and agrees was wonderful - everyone had a great time! Would definitely consider a return visit.

Fun family get away

The cottage is very spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had great weather and a lot of fun on the kayaks and paddle boat. The views from the cottage were lovely. Nick was a pleasure to deal with and quick to respond to my questions. We had a great time!

Pleasant stay

Nick was a great host, quick to respond. Place was beautiful and lake is warm but lots of lily pads to swim through. Not great. Access to canoe and kayaks was nice. Kitchen was well stocked.

Very memorable place to stay

The amazing location of this.cottage and it's steps away from a beautiful lake are just a very few things to fall in love with this location. But I could keep on going all gaga about this place that comes with abundance of entertainment for kids , ready BBQ and wood for a bonfire and a very cosy atmosphere. But what takes the cake is the kindness and friendliness of the property owner and his always accessible nature when you need anything.. Surely spreading this cottage to my known people and will be back again to this very memorable location .

Pleasant, well appointed cottage on a quiet lake.

We had a very nice stay for a week in June. The lake is very quiet and calm. It is also very shallow, so very suitable for young children. Cottage is clean, modern, comfortable and spacious. Corner store/gas station is a 15 minute drive away, in case you forget to pack something. Overall a very nice stay.

Great week at Bear Lake

We spent an amazing week at Nick's cottage. The cottage looks even nicer in person than it does in the pictures and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Great spaces for cooking, eating, entertaining and hanging out outside. We got great use out of the kayaks and the fire pit. Communication with Nick was seamless.

Lots of fun

We are very glad we choose this property. They had 3 kayaks, a canoe and a paddle boat which were fun riding along Bear lake. We also enjoyed playing air hockey, foosball and pool in the basement. The cottage is gorgeous and updated also very clean. We loved our little getaway. Nick was very accommodating and made checking in and out very easy. Thank you, we will definitely come back again

Bear Lake Cottage

Good overall stay. Should have been informed ahead of stay that clothes dryer didn’t work, vents in bathrooms didn’t work, and gas fireplace didn’t work. But nice stay & family really enjoyed the paddle boat & kayaks. Beautiful cottage with lots of windows. It was very spacious & comfortable. When out shopping & returning to cottage actually sighted a baby bear crossing the roaf.

Amazing place

Perfect stay ! A wonderful week of vacation! Very easy communication with Nick. The cottage is exceptionally clean. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms spacious. We enjoyed every moment both on the dock, on the lake and around the campfire. . We had a great time with the family in the playroom. And what about the silence .... much appreciated in these times. Family Christmas Getaway

Spectacular Christmas vacation with family. This is truly a winter wonderland. Spacious, well equipped cottage with fantastic views. Host was always available to answer any questions prior to leaving. No issues once we arrived. Equipped with a generator which we were very thankful for. Nice open concept for family interaction. Quiet and peaceful. area. Nice neighbourhood to walk around and enjoy more views. Excellent location for snow lovers. Well stocked kitchen. Would highly recommend.

Just like the pictures

Cottage is beautiful. We had 5 adults and 3 children and there was lots of space. The water is sandy and shallow though much of the lake is full of water lilies so it’s not a lake for swimmers. The kayaks were put to good use. Most importantly, the beds were comfortable. Nothing worse then vacationing on uncomfortable beds. Nick was responsive and provided answers to all questions. The corner store in the nearby small town is one of the best stocked stores I’ve ever seen for a rural location. Amazing vacation!

Wonderful property

Our time here was great. Unfortunately it rained during our stay but the property has so much to do for indoor activities that we still enjoyed our stay. We did manage to sneak out and use the kayaks for a few minutes and it was well worth it. The views of the lake from the cottage were absolutely stunning. The property was very clean and well maintained. I forgot my keys after leaving the property and did not realize till a got home. Nick was very helpful and insured me that he would find my keys. After retrieving them, he mailed them of to me and I am very thankful for all his help.

Great family getaway!

Overall a great experience. Cottage is just as pictured, nice and bright with great amenities. Lots of space for 2 families to move around. The shallow water was amazing for the kids and having both the sandy beach and the dock was superb. The yard was nice for playing games and running around, complete with a swing set the kids loved ! While we knew we had to bring towels, once thing we didn’t think of was hand towels and tea/dish towels so don’t forget those ! Also if you’re partial to your pillow, bring it. The dryer didn’t work while we were there, which we didn’t know beforehand and the couch was quite dirty and could use a good steam cleaning.

Great family cottage vacation!

This cottage was extremely peaceful with beautiful lake views/sunsets. Small beach area amazing for kids with very shallow water. Comes equipped with boats for exploring Bear Lake. Cottage itself has nice big windows and very comfortable layout for a family or 2 families. Friendly neighbours at nearby cottages. Very remote - 25 min drive to the nearest general store to pick up a few things (we ran out of some basic essentials like paper towel and toilet paper). Though, we liked the remoteness of the cottage in that it was very quiet and peaceful unlike some of the larger lakes in Muskoka. Beware - you need to dispose of your own garbage at the end of your stay. This was not made clear to us and we ended up getting an extra charge after check out. We have already recommended this cottage to friends!

Family Weekend Snowmobile Trip

The cottage is bright, fairly clean, and the kitchen has a good amount of dishes, pots and pans. The beds are comfortable as well. It would have been nice to have a working dryer for our mitts and hats. We noticed it had been down since October. Also, an area to hang winter clothes and matts to put winter boots on. We didn't want to put our wet gear directly on the floor. Knowing we were coming and we paid a lot of money to stay plus an additional charge for our fur baby which was more than indicated in the information booklet, the roadway and driveway should have been plowed prior to our arrival so we could have accessed the property without getting stuck. You notified us the day of our arrival indicating we needed a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get into the laneway, something you should have pointed out prior to booking. We drove a large powerful truck pulling a 4 place snowmobile trailer. We got stuck and wasted over 3 hours trying to get unstuck. As the owner of an expensive rental property, you should have ensured the access road and driveway was cleared properly.

Thank you for sharing experience with your stay at our cottage. We will take very seriously your annotations and will do all necessary steps for improvements. The dryer is already second time in the repair for last couple of months. Unfortunately It malfunctioned again before your arrival and there was not enough time to repair it. Sorry for this inconvenience. We have a huge matt for shoes and a sitting bank at the main entrance and also a specious closet with a shoe rack and hangers. The roadway and driveway were cleared of snow in the morning prior to your arrival but a lot of snow came down later the day. At the cottage we normally have a lot of snow in the winter. This is why I pointed out that the access with 4 weel vehicle is easier. Sorry, I was not aware that you were coming with a huge trailer.
