Great house

Overall house was great... a great location, nice dock, inside of the house was wonderful. Perfect for 2 families. *needs a new grill, it was disappointing that the grill was not functional. *need more pots, pans and bowls - challenging to cook without essentials.

Poorly maintained/managed home

Disappointed with our stay because the fireplace and garbage disposal were broken and we informed management about these issues on day one. Not only were they never corrected, but they never even sent anyone to try and fix them. This was very disappointing for a stay in February when the fireplace was a big attraction. The house is lovely but deserves more attention to cleanliness and maintenance in general as we also noticed that among other things, the grill was filthy and had broken grates, there was a large stain on the master bedroom carpet, and several pots and pans were dirty.

Poorly maintained home

This place deserves better maintenance and management! The two fireplace were non-functional the entire stay (in February!) despite notifying management our first day there. On day 3 the gas company came to come fill the "bone dry" (technician's words) propane tank, but the fireplaces still did not work. Ditto for garbage disposal which smelled terrible and was non-functional. Management was made aware but never sent anyone to check or repair. Additionally, in general the house seemed kindof dirty and neglected- large stain on carpet in master bedroom, dirty pots and pans, filthy and broken grill, leftover perishable food from previous guests in cupboard. It's a shame because the home is pretty and nicely decorated. The management response to complaints about the fireplace and disposal were lots of apologies but no corrective action. Very disappointing and could be so much better.

Amazing Property!!

The house looks beautiful online but is much better in person! It’s insanely spacious and has amazing views! The deck is great and the dock is even better closer to the lake. The rooms fit us very comfortably! The only advice I would give for improvement would be to change the shower curtains (they were a little stained). Other than that, we would 100% book again!!

Recommended dock improvements

We do have some recommendations for the dock. The big one($$$) is to make the lift or an additional lift available to guest who are bringing boats. We docked our boat on the "lakeside" of the dock and didn't have any dock cleats to tie off to. There was a lot of wave and wind action and big rubber bumpers/fenders would have made me less concerned of the boat rolling and getting an edge up under the dock edge. I watched it get really close one time. My solution was to stay out on the water until everyone went in for the evening:) Overall, We really enjoyed our time there and would come back again if available. Thank you.

Wonderful house!

We loved everything about this house! ESPECIALLY THE DOCK. Best thing ever! We literally lived out there the entire week. It has paddleboards, kayaks, noodles and life vests--nice outdoor furniture. And this amazing huge foam pad that ended up being everyone's favorite thing for the water. It's 74 steps from the dock to the main level of the house, but that's nothing but a great view and good exercise :) The brickwork is gorgeous. You can tell so much went into the design of the landscaping and it makes you want to be out there as much as possible. The basement with Air hockey table was so perfect for kids. The beds were super comfortable; everything was well-appointed inside and easy to keep straightened up with with a bunch of boys. The master bedroom (esp the carpet) was wonderful! Tons of space. We just loved everything about this house and would totally go back. Thank you so much!!!

Relaxing vacation

This lake house sits on a very large, beautiful lake. The views from the deck and the living room/kitchen are amazing. The 2 story dock (including a jumping gate on the second story dock) was awesome! All the kids loved jumping off. The house has 2 paddle boards, 2 kayaks, and more than 10 life vests for guest use. There was also a floating mat that the kids really enjoyed. We loved the fire pit overlooking the water. We were a group of 14 with (8 children total) and had plenty of room. My only wish was that there would have been more trash bags/paper towels/toilet paper. We would definitely return to this house. It was truly beautiful and our vacation there was wonderful.

My family and I had a Christmas to remember at this home. We loved everything about it but I would give one suggestion. Upgrade the internet trying to watch movies was hard. We will diffinitely be doing this again in the summer.

Beautiful setting and gorgeous home........

Fantastic Lake Gaston vacation. This home was amazingly clean, like new (remodeled) inside, beautiful setting; large two level dock, stunning sunsets, quiet environment and so relaxing. We drove to a local marina and rented a pontoon boat for 2 days, and explored the enormous lake. Docking the boat at the dock overnight was easy. Comfortable king size bedding (master bedroom), relaxing master bath Jacuzzi, and up to date, large kitchen. We also enjoyed the user friendly Gas Fireplace for the chilly evenings before bed. Would reserve again without any reservations.

Great Family Stay

The house was super beautiful with plenty of space and activities. The house was very clean and was fully stocked with everything we needed - lots of towels, lots of pots and pans, a few games, and tons of things for the lake. That included 2 kayaks, fishing stuff, and vests, flotation devices, etc. The grill was working (though could have used a clean). I would say the one thing that could have used some attention was the outside deck and dock area could have used a power wash given the bugs (spiders). We came towards the end of the season so could be that - but I think that would be the only thing that I could see as an improvement. Some of this we expect with a house on the lake though. We also rented a boat and it was super easy to dock. Definitely a great place for a family of 5 (or easily 7).

Exquisite home overlooking gorgeous lake

There were four of us for this stay (although the house easily could have accommodated more). We had a fantastic time relaxing on the dock, swimming, jumping off the deck, kayaking, and fishing. We caught several catfish though there are also large bass in the water. So many places in the house to be comfortable, or play air hockey (lots of that too). Food stores and restaurants are nearby (we only did takeout), as well as a state forest for hiking. We even visited the quite bizarre and definitely unique Cryptozoology Museum. Highly recommended this rental home.

Great Picturesque Lake House

We were looking for a quick couple night stay on our way to the OBX from Northern Virginia. Our timing and the houses availability fit perfectly. While there are a lot of steps to get from the house to the lake, it was still the perfect place for us. The house has a great layout and fit the 7 of us perfectly. The views of the lake from the congregating portions of the house were second to none. We did have a plumbing issue while there, and the management company was quick to respond and got everything sorted out quickly. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful lake home.

Beautiful home. Fabulous lake views. We enjoyed the evenings on the upper dock deck. Our granddaughters loved the kayaks, water mat, and floats. Thanks for a quick and fun lake vacation.
