Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

Here at Yellow Rose, your safety is our priority. If a cabin requires 4 wheel, front wheel, or all wheel drive to access it, it will be listed in the description. If bringing or riding motorcycles, please call and ask for motorcycle friendly properties. Perfect cabin for the long weekend

Everything was perfect and the house is loaded with kitchen ware and extra dishes and soaps. Just show up with some food to cook and enjoy the mountains!

Mountain Getaway

A quaint cabin in a beautiful setting. Pefect for two wekenders. The cabin was close to town and offered just what we wanted. We would surely try it again.

Just perfect!

The cabin was perfect and the Mt. view breathtaking! My cat loved the sofa bed so much I had to open it to get her to go home.

Perfection

I loved this place, the view, the location all great. It was perfect for my family of three. My 5 year old had the time of his life running all over the place and because of its location I wasn't concerned about cars, etc. We just enjoyed exploring.

Great couples get away

We enjoyed our stay. We went for our 15th anniversary and the cabin was perfect for just the two of us. It was very clean and just as described. It was a great location very close to Bryson city and just a short drive to Cherokee and Maggie Valley. It was secluded and very private. You do need a 4 wheel or all wheel drive to get up the driveway. My only suggestion would be to add a washer and dryer but its not a deal breaker.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We visited this cabin for a weekend trip. It was as described in the reviews. You definitely need 4 wheel or all-wheel drive to access the cabin and expect to do a little back and forth turning to get in and out of it. There are plug in heaters that work very well. Just know to look for them in the closet. We really only slept there and had coffee in the morning so didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin. There is no internet and service is spotty so don't expect to watch tv. I believe they had a DVD player so bring a movie if you want. This rental is a good value and is very close to Deep Creek Winery!!! :) Bryson City is about a 15 minute drive, so not bad.

Review of Rental Cabin through Rose Rental, Cardinal’s Landing

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was ok except the bathroom floor felt very spongy and I think water comes out when you take a shower from the bottom of the shower curtain and has damaged the floor.We kept feeling as if it would fall through.The TV never worked and my husband called your realty company several times and nobody ever came. We feel that your realty company knew the TV didn’t work and you should have told us so we could have went to a different property. The driveway was difficult to maneuver also.

Miserable driveway

I thought it was very deceiving where it was at . I have a 2022 Chevy Silerado and my t4uck would bot even make it up to the place we rented . The driveway was so tight and hanging off side of mountain we could not even get up to the place and almost wreck3ed my new truck trying to get back down the steep incline driveway filled with gravels . Asked fo our money back because we couldnt even get up there to stay and owner wouldn't return our calls . We had to end renting a hotel because we cpuld not even get up to the place. I would not recommend this olace to anyone. Do not waste your money because they will not give you a fefund . Worse experience with a VRBO site so far !!!!

Hi there. We are sorry you were unable to make it to the cabin you rented. Our advertisement for this property does state that it requires 4WD or AWD to access the property. We received your call the night you arrived and provided the check in information. We never heard anything else back from you. We do provide an after-hours emergency line phone number to all of our guests for instances like this. Had we heard back from you that you couldn't make it up there, we would have tried to move you to a different cabin. We are sorry we couldn't resolve the issue during your stay.

Last Minute Booking...

Reviewer Comments: We booked Cardinals Landing as a last minute trip July 4th weekend. Yellow Rose confirmed that we were aware about the driveway, and honestly it wasn't as bad as I expected after reading reviews. As long as you are prepared, it wasn't that bad. I never had to use 4wd to reach the top. Once arriving, the place had a smell as if no one had been in there for awhile. It seemed like someone came in and cleaned weeks prior and no one had been there since. Within a few minutes of being there, my son attempted to go out the back door and found a snake laying under the stick that locks the sliding door. It was just a rat snake, so I quickly grabbed and removed him from inside. The back door is very hard to open. I pretty much was the only one who could open and close it. My wife would just walk around instead of trying. We opened the top drawer of the night stand beside the bed to find a mouse nest and droppings in the drawer. The nest was empty but every drawer had droppings. (Maybe the snake ate that one). I sent pictures to Yellow Rose and they responded that they were sorry, confirmed that we were staying and said they would get pest control out the following week. The only other critters we found were some flying insects that seemed to make their way into bathroom and die in bottom of shower. We made the most of our trip. It's close to Bryson City, it's nice and quiet up there, with a nice view off the back porch. The gutters on the house are slam full of debris and just the over all feel around the place is it needs a little "TLC". We tent camp, stay in cabins, visit this general area 3-4 times a year. We were able to enjoy ourselves, but I have a feeling a lot of people would have not. I reached out to Yellow Rose via email when we returned about our experience and never heard anything back.

Nice but a bit chilly.

Nestled neatly at the top of a narrow, winding driveway, this little cabin is nicely secluded among the tree tops and laurels. It was beautifully furnished and nicely equipped for a couple of people to stay comfortably. The only thing that was a bit off, was the heat. Staying here in late September, when the temperature gets down to the low 40's at night, the small space heaters just could not seem to keep up. My wife and I nicknamed it the shiver shack. Fortunately, there were plenty of extra blankets and when we settled in for the night, we were warm enough. All in all, this is a beautiful property that I would highly recommend.

The bathroom was the only thing we really had issues with as in the flooring was bubbled up between the toilet and shower and the shower didn't seem super clean and was hard to shut off completely. We liked the idea behind the bathroom just not those things. It would of been nice if there was a small washer and dryer but we managed to make due with what we had. Everything else felt nice and cozy. There is a big hairy husky of some kind that would come and visit Everytime we was coming and going. It definitely felt like it was our personal get away home. It's not fancy but it's very cozy. We wished we could of stayed longer.

Disappointment

Back door ledt unlocked, bathroom window open. Site claimed mountain view and washer/dryer, it had neither. Ext. needs repair and cleaning, driveway rutted and needs some clearing. Screens in disrepair, buildup of dirt in sliding door track. Shower drips continuously, mold, and the floor is spongey and the vinyl raised. Carpenter ants. Fire alarm left on kitchen shelf without battery. Needs a good cleaning inside and out. I left a phone message after arrival as per rental agreement with what we found up to that point. Nothing addressed with a phone call or when we went to the office to pick up a replacement coffee maker.

Doubt it would pass inspection

The house was cute and quaint. Water pressure was scarce. The mold smell is strong due to the soft spot between the toilet and shower. Both leak. The bench in the back porch has big gaps between the beams, not safe for kids to be on. Neighbors dogs barked all night long. We had a great weekend, but will next time stay somewhere else.

Great little cabin in the woods! Wished owners had emphasized the need for good tires and 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway. Our all wheel drive car made it, but only after a few tries and practice. Overall it was a good stay!

Quiet and serene

Great place to stay. Quiet and secluded. It was nice to hear the creek running below us. Great for a base of operations to explore deep creek trailhead and the rest of the Smoky Mountains.

Cute cabin, secluded nice view from back deck & child friendly with pack n play and plates, bowls and sippy cups, children's books and movies. There was an odor to the cabin though, there is alot of water damage to the bathroom floor from the shower spraying out. The drive does need something with all wheel drive which is stated in the write up but longer trucks have to do do 3-4 point turns due to the 90 degree turn, to turn up the drive. It had all the items we needed for cooking except a grill which we brought out own.

Don't Rent this Cabin

Reviewer Comments: This place never had hot water the entire time my husband and I stayed there. I contacted the rental company multiple times about it, and no one has reached out to us still (days after we checked out). The neighbor's below are also super loud, and you can tell the rental company has only done a few quick "patch repairs" on things that need major fixing (ex: wiring and flooring) It's overpriced for what it is. Just stay at a local inn instead. You'll at least get wifi, hot water, and a decent mountain view.

The pathway to the cabin itself was a little difficult I don’t know that all vehicles would make it but mine did. I called yellow rose for them to blow all the leaves off the driveway they were out in less than two hours and blew the whole thing off from the top of where we parked to the bottom where the road was. The pathway was much easier to go up and down the pathway. The whole experience was excellent we go there again

The location was within 10-20 minutes of all of our outings that we had planned for the weekend. We enjoyed the Great Smoky Mountains train ride and hiking on the Deep Creek Trail. The size was perfect for my husband and I. Don't expect a luxurious stay - the amenities are very basic and while it was clean, could use a little TLC. We couldn't get the TV to work, which actually ended being quite nice - no TV or cell service in the cabin all weekend - led to playing lots of cards and board games. Definitely a challenge getting to the cabin which we were advised in other reviews. We opted to take a truck, but had a little difficulty maneuvering the sharp curve to the driveway of the actual property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our visit at this cute cabin. The location was great, close to town but out in the country. Set on the top of a mountain, it was quiet and great for star gazing. Lots of nice touches like the fire ring set up and a kitchen stocked with a few emergency cooking items! A wonderful getaway from the busy and crazy pace of life.
