Beautiful B&B

Shirley's Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful log cabin style B&B. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable and the food was wonderful. The owners were away when we stayed there, but the Innkeeper, Gail, was very welcoming and helpful.

Couldn't give enough stars

Shirley's was just as advertised. Quiet private setting, clean accommodations, more than welcoming hosts. And a fantastic breakfast to boot. Jeff and Cheryl make you feel like family. We just wanted a night away and a good meal in Roanoke. Shirley's is close enough (15 mins) to town and far enough away to have a quiet night's sleep. Will be back for sure!

Mountain setting; near the city

Our room with quite large with a seating area, a king size bed, (electric) fireplace, and ceiling fans. It was decorated in the style of the Inn, but it wasn't overdone. The owners were professional and friendly. They offered complimentary coffee, beer, wine and snacks in the main area of the house. The setting is lovely.

Cozy room and great breakfast.

My spouse and I had a wonderful time staying here. The room was great, and the house was very cozy. You really feel like your are away from it all, but its only a 15 minute drive to get into downtown Roanoke. Both of our breakfasts were delicious and we were well taken care of. Would definitely stay there again.

Best lodging we have had on our trip from Georgia to Pennsylvania.

The lodge is amazing with a wonderful suite that had its own sitting area along with its own entry and a beautiful, comfortable sleeping area. Our only regret is we booked one night. This is somewhere we would have loved to stay for more than one night. The breakfast was delicious and the host and hostess were so pleasant. Staying here is worth changing your route to be able to enjoy this outstanding home. We highly recommend Shirleys B&B. This will definitely be our go to place when we are riding the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Beautiful room, 2 short blocks to old town Jacksonville

Perfect for our anniversary getaway. The room has been updated beautifully, super comfortable king size bed, spacious bathroom, living room w/ kitchenette, and two private balconies. We went wine tasting, hiking, out to dinner, and played on the Applegate River. Highly recommend!

Britt Fest gem walking distance

We were attending a long awaited Gov't Mule concert at the Britt. Holy cheese they are great musicians. I was lifted out of my seat all night. And the Britt! 68 degrees and as beautiful as I've ever seen it. The Britt Cottage was a little pricey but is within walking distance which is a main requirement for us. It turned out to be a tranquil, private gem. Check-in with the keypad door lock is so nice! When we came in the lights automatically came on, music (Nora Jones type) came on, and there was a bottle of local wine on a tray with glasses. Chilled Pellagrino in the fridge. Jetted hot tub spa in bathroom. SPEAKERS in the bathroom. Heated tile floors. 2 private decks. Cashews, breakfast biscuits, and chocolates in a basket. PINCH ME. Heavenly bed but a lighter, summer weight blanket option would have been nice. They really try to think of everything. I would recommend it to anyone, especially Britt attendees.

Clean, modern and well equipped.

We spent 3nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our placed was well equipped, very clean and nicely updated. It is also walking distance to shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. Of course the whole town is very small. The town is beautiful, we might plan a second trip when the weather is warmer so we can do more hiking, and wine tasting.

Hoping to return again!

We stayed at the Britt Cottage on the night of our wedding, and could not have been more pleased! The suite was impeccably clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We sat outside on the private deck and enjoyed the evening twilight, cozied up by the fireplace, and de-stressed in the deep jacuzzi tub. The best features about the Britt Cottage are the personal touches and the attention to every little detail, especially in the lighting and design; everything worked together to make us feel welcomed and to create a perfect romantic environment. We highly and unreservedly recommend the Britt Cottage, especially for honeymooners or anyone looking for a romantic getaway for a night or two in cute little Jacksonville.
