Somerset Studio

A deliberately different, John Henderson designed, slightly quirky B & B in Bethlehem, Tauranga - situated next door too, and run by the owners of Somerset Cottage, a long established restaurant and cookschool.
You are always welcome to join us at the restaurant on one of the nights we're open - Tuesday to Saturday ( bookings tend to be necessary), or we can bring a restaurant meal over to you in the Studio if you'd prefer to dine in private.

Modern tranquility.

Eloquent architectual design backing onto beautiful New Zealand bush. The east side of the building being almost all glass allows you to wake up with the birds. Great accomodation, location & experience.

Perfect

Just what we needed. Private. Minimalist. Comfortable. Gorgeous back yard. Hosts were very generous with some goodies from their restaurant. Will be our go to if we're ever in Tauranga.

The best

I organised this property for my family when they were visiting from Australia. The property is just lovely, providing everything that was required in a modern stylish but yet cosy house. Attention to detail with delicious breakfast foods and chocolates too. Thankyou, they loved their stay.

Beautiful Studio for my parents

We build the Studio in 2020, next door to our long established restaurant business, Somerset Cottage, with the idea that it's a natural extension to what we do - providing a special accomodation space to go with our dining and cookschool.

Conveniently situated just across the road from Bethlehem Shopping Centre, and right next door to the restaurant, the Studio was designed to take full advantage of the magnificent vista out over a stand of centuries- old native bush. Bethlehem sits equidistance between both stunning hikes up in the Kaimais, and one of NZ's top beaches in the expanse of sand at Mt Maunganui. In between there are a range of locally owned retail and food businesses that we'd be delighted to direct you too. Otherwise we have lots of books and other reading material at the Studio, a very relaxing outlook, and easy off-road walks right on your doorstep.
