Wow! This really is Timber VIEW!! Yes, with an emphasis on view. In winter, this lovely contemporary home is a skier's dream. It is a short walk to and from Timberline Mountain's Twister and Winterset trails. Weary skiers are sure to appreciate the outdoor hot tub. Spring, summer and fall visitors will enjoy wonderful views and easy access to Blackwater Falls, Canaan Resort, Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge and more. The generous loft provides room for puzzling or game playing. With two living rooms, there is plenty of space to separate the teens, tweens, and adults. Timber View might just become your go-to when planning some mountain time in Canaan Valley. Four-wheel drive vehicles are definitely required for winter access.

There were several living rooms so you had plenty of space to hang out and a big dining room table that was great for playing cards.

Reviewer Comments: We arrived to check in after dark and keys and a map were left in the office, in the dark the cabin was difficult to find and we may have taken some roads that weren't intended to be traveled on because it was dark! Please make sure you are prepared and have 4wheel drive weather can change quickly and Tucker County gets alot of snow! The cabin was beautiful and well stocked with board games and firewood. The views were gorgeous!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A lovely location for exploring the surrounding valley. The house is large with comfortable beds and has a lovely view. It is private and we saw lots of deer walk by. Loved that everyone had their own bathroom. We had several hiccups/ problems with appliances in the house (one oven doesn't work, dryer didn't work and we had a sewer smell throughout the house the last 2 days which took away from our enjoyment). Best of Canaan was responsive to our call. Overall nice stay but house needs some upkeep which was disappointing.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed for a long weekend with some friends - our second time at Timber View. Nice cabin with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a bigger group - loads of space. Check-in was simple and the cabin was clean on arrival. Kitchen is nice and well-equipped. Beautiful view off the back deck. Nice location on Timberline Mtn, short drive to Davis. Two suggestions for improvement for future guests - the mini-split A/C system upstairs is confusing; please provide some written instructions up there for operation. And a few light bulbs out here and there - upstairs bath, master suite closet. Overall, fantastic place. Looking forward to returning in the future.

A Super View

5 bedrooms and and extra bathrooms were a plus. Having a large den and kitchen combo was super for a large family. Our oldest son and wife and kids stayed downstairs in the bedroom next to the bunk room. They shared a bathroom. A third bedroom was across the den area on the other side that had a king size bed and large bathroom. The grandkids enjoyed the den space for watching tv, reading and playing games.The upstairs housed two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a small den area containing a table and lounging couch and chair. Our youngest son and his wife used one of the bedrooms for their infant son which worked well. There was plenty of wood for the fire pit and we called the office each day for garbage pickup. Our family enjoyed the hot tub at night. The office personnel were very nice and helpful. They are working with the property owners to have the washer unit repaired. We were overall pleased with our stay and enjoyed many beautiful sunsets off the large balcony.

Marvelous Mountain Experience

When we opened the trash bin, a terrible smell came out. There were cobwebs, dust, and even mouse droppings. It was the dirtiest house we’ve ever stayed in. We had 2 issues while vacationing, a tripped breaker leaving the entire upstairs without power and then the following day we lost all hot water. I will say that someone was sent within minutes to resolve the issues which was very satisfying and appreciated. Other than these 2 small issues it was a great vacation.

Great stay at Timber View

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I and four friends stayed for a long weekend at Timber View to do some mountain biking around the area. The location of the rental is perfect...central to a number of great mountain biking trail systems and very close to Davis and Thomas. With six bedrooms there was plenty of space, and then some, for all of us. The kitchen was well appointed and all of the appliances were in good working order (save for the dishwasher, but more on that later). We were happy to see the addition of a Keurig coffee maker in place of the espresso machine pictured in the listing. We appreciated the ample supply of firewood for the fire pit, and the views from the back of the house are amazing!We did have some suggestions that could make staying at Timber View a bit better. First off, the mini split HVAC units in the upstairs were confusing. There was only one remote for the three units, and we assumed there would be a remote for each. So getting the temperatures set correctly in each room was somewhat of a challenge. Some of the furniture in the main living room was a bit worn (the chairs mainly) and a tad uncomfortable, but not terrible. A few ottomans or footrests would be nice, too. There were also some issues getting the dishwasher to work. Some detailed instruction on some of the appliances (other than the Rokus, for which there were very detailed info sheets) would be beneficial. Lastly, We've stayed at similar rentals that use keyless entry, which we find much easier than managing one or two sets of keys among large groups who may be striking off in different directions during the day. But we made it work. Overall, it was a great weekend and we highly recommend Timber View. We'll certainly be back!

Fantastic Home/Vacation

The house itself was very well equipped with most everything you could think of. I loved the three floors because you never got under each other's feet and everyone had their own space! The air conditioning was amazing and almost too cold at times, but I wasn't complaining As we came from Tennessee and Arkansas. We had plenty of room for family gatherings The fire pit was fabulous. The only negative thing I could say is you could hear everybody upstairs talking if you were on the main floor (this floors). We will definitely attempt to have this house again next year because it was wonderful.

It fits our crew well. The views are amazing.The only thing negative about the place is that it definitely needs a deep cleaning. It would be nice if they updated the livingroom furniture and the upstairs mattresses.But overall it's an amazing house. Stocked very well in the kitchen.

The window sills were full of them and they were on the floors. We could not take our shoes off I had to sweep them up as best as I could We did not have hot water!! The maintenance man did come really fast but showed us how to keep fixing the problem by leaving a private closet open for us. This is an ongoing problem This house has the potential to be really nice but it has a lot of worn out furniture. Our trip was a great one but this was a first for us to experience a problematic house with Best of Canaan

The location is great with a short walk to the slopes and easy access from mid-station. The gathering space for a large group is great and the kitchen functional with two ovens. The main downsides to the house are the noise and the cleanliness. The floors between levels have no insulation, so you hear every footstep, conversation, and movement of the person above you. Adding an additional rug to the upstairs bedroom would be helpful. The house was a little more clean this year, but still frustrating to find a tip envelope for the cleaning staff on a credenza full of dust and crumbs!

Decent property in Davis but not as advertised

The property needed a lot of repair and replacement, unfortunately. The photos shown online were VERY deceiving. The cabin was dirty (fingerprints all over the windows, countertop sticky and kitchen floor needed mopping). There were at least a few hundred dead flies on the windowsills upstairs. The furniture throughout the house with the exception of one bedroom was extremely old worn out and in need of replacement. The comforter in the one bedroom that was decent had a huge hole in it. The gas fireplace would not light. The kitchen did not have adequate pots, pans and what it had was very old and put away dirty. EVERY plate was chipped. Additionally, the online photo showed an espresso machine which also was not there. Not at all worth the money paid ESPECIALLY the cleaning fee. Will not return.

House needed cleaned, mouse poison on floor upstairs. No pot holders or oven mitts. No working can openers very limited bake ware. No cake pans. Every pot and pan needed washed before use. AC froze up first day, fortunately it remained cool enough to not need it. Cable only worked on one tv. Lights throughout the home were either VERY dim, or just didn't work at all. Road was in very rough condition.

The hot water went out everyday and we had to call maintenance twice until they just showed us how to fix it behind a locked door. It went out multiple times a day which made showering miserable and they were already aware of the issue when we called the first time. The silverware was not clean and had to be hand washed prior to use. They had jelly and grease all over them. This is more of a cleaning and maintenance issue as the house itself was great. Disappointed in the amount of money spent to have no hot water.
