Lombok On Waterfall Retreat Studio

The Studio is located in the magnificent Bellingen Valley 12 min from Dorrigo National Park with its pristine waterfalls and hiking trails and 12 minutes from Bellingen township.
Lombok on Waterfall Studio is fully self-contained and caters for 4 people or a family with children. Entry to the Studio is through a private garden bordered by tropical plants which leads to a private deck where Lombok Studio awaits you.
Directions to Lombok on Waterfall Retreat:
Lombok is positioned exactly halfway (14 kms each way) between the townships of Bellingen and Dorrigo. Our entrance is directly off the award winning Waterfall Way Tourist Route.
Waterfall Way joins the Pacific and New England highways.
Lombok is 1km up the Dorrigo mountain on the left hand side, after the Thora General Store if driving from Bellingen.
If you are driving down the mountain from Dorrigo and you have reached the store, you have passed us. Go back up the hill 1km and you will find Lombok. Balinese flags will greet you at our entrance.

The property was very welcoming, with basic supplies in the kitchen and bathroom. There was plenty of extra pillows and blankets, which make it very cosy in winter. The yard isn't secure so it just meant that we had to use a leash when taking our puppy outside, which she loved exploring.

Lovely Balinese inspired house

This is a very well presented Asian inspired house located in rainforests between Bellingen and Dorrigo on the Waterfall way. It was very welcoming, with comfortable lounges and well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were large and the beds were relaxing. The decor was impressive and the bathroom had everything necessary together with a really nice shower. There was air conditioning as well as fans. We had a great stay and are happy to recommend Lombok.

Good size property with air con which was great as we had a 40degree day. The name and location and details was a bit confusing as i was under the impression that we could walk places from the accom (like river etc) which you definitely couldn't. But i was very comfy and slept so well

No view from doors or windows .. granny flat

Comfortable property and responsive owner. Property doesn’t have view from the windows or doors if you are expecting to have a view of the hills or pastures it’s not the place for you.. was a bit tired and outdoor deck wasn’t clean .. it was raining most of the time so the house wasn’t the best to stay indoors..

Run down, hard to get issues sorted

Inside accomodation nice but cleaner still there when I turned up so had to wait outside for 15 mins. I arrived after 2pm. Deck was then wet and took hours to dry so I couldn't us it. Only one of two pedestal fans in brms worked. Outside needs a really gd clean up. Very snaky, mosquito ridden, leaves all over the place. Outside laundry shed full of cobwebs, clearly not cleaned in ages. Traffic noise loud as accomodation right next to road. No hot water on day I left. Rang, emailed, texted and 2 hrs later issue not resolved, no one had turned up, so had to leave without having a shower and washing my hair. Poor service. Not worth the cost

We sincerely apologize that the cleaner had only just finished cleaning when your daughter arrived and that the deck was wet and took time to dry. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we are reviewing our processes to ensure better preparation for future guests. Our property is located in a rural, subtropical area, and while we work hard to manage leaves, cobwebs, and mosquitoes, they can sometimes pose a challenge. That said, we’ll increase our efforts to ensure these elements are minimized. In the four years we’ve been here, we’ve never encountered snakes, but we appreciate your concerns. We understand the traffic noise from Waterfall Way may have affected your daughter’s experience and are exploring ways to enhance soundproofing for added comfort. Regarding the hot water, I apologize for the inconvenience. I did respond to your daughter’s messages on the morning of her departure, and while we acted as quickly as possible, replacing the hot water system was unfortunately not a quick fix. We now have a dedicated property manager on-site to ensure every guest has the best possible experience at Lombok. Readers and Writers Festival Getaway

The property is great for a little escape from the hustle and bustle and would be particularly lovely in summer when the rainforest provides welcome shade. You're right in nature here with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy different areas.

Not quite what we were expecting.

The property was a good 12 minutes out of Belligen and more for us with all the road works. But there was no view. A tin garden shed was positioned right in front of the verandah. The road was only a few metres away with a lot more traffic than I would have expected for a country road. The WiFi was limited and you were not permitted to download movies. The bathroom was completely separate to the bedrooms and you had to walk through the living room to reach it. The inside of the Studio was attractive but it was not a luxury experience staying there.

Great Relaxing Location

It was a really beautiful part of NSW that was also ideal for our dog Daisy. The host of the property was very accommodating with anything that we required including fresh eggs from her chooks.
