Cottage had everything we needed, including cooking facilities and laundry. There are no particular activities, like walks, at the cottage (there are games and TV for indoor recreation), but it’s easy driving to access Hawker and Wilpena Pound. Easy to recommend if you don’t mind travelling to reach the district’s attractions.

Our stay at Hillview

Perfect location for our stay. The house was roomy and comfortable. The owners kindly provided a fire drum so the boys could enjoy a camp fire.

if the weather is hot inefficient air conditioning when aged 75 & 76 unbearable heat only stay one night booked for four nights weather predictions three days 37degrees travelled 500kilometers for hot house spoiled holiday , cottage very nice but would not cool down

The property had very comfortable beds. Main bedroom is large with King bed. Both quilts and blankets are available. The kitchen is well equipped. Heating is limited to a portable floor level bar heater. The laundry and bathroom are satisfactory. The location is superb. An easy drive from Hawker for fuel and food. It would add to the property to have a different heating option for colder weather and perhaps a new microwave given it only seemed to work on instant setting. Overall we were happy with the accommodation and the proprietors.

The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and is in a great location to expore the Flinders Ranges. We also loved our visits from the friendly cat and dog who visited us daily!

Quiet cottage Near Hawker

A cottage in the outback, but near the Flanders Ranges & the small town of Hawker. All the comforts of home & beautiful sunsets to watch.

The cottage is a good base to explore the Flinders Ranges. It can be reached via unsealed roads only, but for those who love peace and quiet it is a gem. We loved seeing the sun rise and set over the vast empty spaces, and visits from the owners' pets.

Secluded little spot

Great location. Way better than a caravan park/cabin as there is no one else around for miles (except the owners house nearby). Perfect for a family of 4. Would definitely return.

Peaceful and quiet

This little cottage is 70's style, no frills but has all you need for a stay close to Wilpena without other people around. The sunsets are amazing and the location perfect for exploring the Flinders Ranges.

Lovely Cabin

The property was very homely and cosy. My parents and I really enjoyed our time there and hope to visit again someday. It was in a wonderful peaceful location where you could see the stars. Emily was a great host, very fast to respond to any questions. Highly recommend, thanks Emily!

Extremely quiet location which is exactly what we were after in the outback. Friendly host and we felt super safe as he was living just opposite the property with his family. The facilities are superb and we really enjoyed our 2 nights in this property. We were sitting at night outside under the stars, needed no star gazing observatory to see the magnificent sky.
