Welcome to our Big, Sunny Farmhouse – a peaceful, country retreat next to waterfalls and wetlands but just 10 minutes to cafes and shops in Lismore, 30 to Evans Head & Ballina beaches, and 45 minutes to Byron. Nestled in a tiny, rural village the property is home to birds, frogs, cows and even the occasional koala.
The house is full of charm and well-equipped for the perfect stay:

The farm and sheds are off limits for your safety. Note, there will be a$50 cleaning fee if the BBQ is not left as when you arrived.

A Perfect 5-Star Stay at the Big, Sunny FarmhouseWe had a wonderful stay at the Big, Sunny Farmhouse in Wyrallah. I stayed with my daughter’s family, and this property exceeded our expectations in every way. The two standout features for us were the beautiful swimming pool—which the children absolutely adored—and the incredibly convenient 10-minute drive into Lismore, where they were finishing their last week of school before the summer break.The farmhouse is nestled among rolling green hills, offering peaceful country quiet that made for the best nights’ sleep. We enjoyed spending time on the lovely patio, cooking on the barbecue, and relaxing in the spacious living and dining areas, both of which were comfortably air-conditioned during the hotter part of the day.Our host, Lis, was exceptional—warm, responsive, and genuinely committed to making our stay comfortable. She kindly offered us a late checkout, which made our departure so much easier and allowed one last swim before we packed up.Overall, we highly recommend this property. It’s a beautiful rustic home, in a stunning setting, with a thoughtful and accommodating host. A truly memorable stay!

Wonderful stay

We stayed a week and we're celebrating Christmas with family. Lis had given us lots of little Christmas touches to welcome us for the festive season. The farmhouse was homely, clean and beautifully presented - perfect for our needs. The kitchen had everything we needed for a family event and a pantry of essentials which was available for our use. The pool was very refreshing on the warm days and evenings. The location was ideal for exploring either the coast or the hinterlands. We try to avoid highways so there were lots of lovely back road drives to take to waterfalls or beaches. I would definitely book it again. Thanks Lis.

The directions to the house were very clear and we found the house very easily. The Kitchen was really well equipped, with loads of cooking equipment and storage options. The pantry had heaps of staples, more than we have experienced elsewhere. The cooks in our group, commented continuously and favourably about the amount of storage and cooking supplies. The day that we arrived was very very hot and it did take a little while to cool the house down, but once we did that the house maintained a good temperature throughout our stay. Lis communicated with us during the first few days checking that we were OK and that all was well. There are air-conditioning units in both the living/kitchen and in the lounge room, as well as portable fans in each of the bedrooms, which we used diligently. The bedrooms were spacious. We used the pool, especially on the really hot days and the BBQ was used to cook several meals. There was a large TV in the lounge room and the couches there could swallow you up! The Christmas decorations on the table were a nice touch. At night we were sometimes serenaded by the green tree frogs on the outside wall of the house. We didn’t see any snakes but there were cane toads about. There were lots of bird life around the house at various times of the day. We were in and out a few times but mainly stayed at the house and relaxed. It was the perfect venue. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in the area and highly recommend it to others.

This photo is our family a few years ago. The kids are now teenagers and too hard to pin down to take a picture! We live between Sydney and the farm but plan to be here full time in a few years. We are thinking of creating a wetlands and building a small eco village on the property, down the track.

We love the area. It is peaceful and not too far from the beach plus it has a river frontage on the other side of the road. Lismore is an creative hub - like Byron used to be in the good old days. What makes this property unique

We love being in nature. There are more birds than you can imagine and a kangaroo family and koala drop in from time to time. It is beyond relaxing here plus I really love the farmers markets and arts festivals. Most of all the people!
