Lagoon and Golf Course Views!

This Hilton Head Island rental overlooks both the lagoon and golf course fairways, with wonderful views. Welcome to this 1st floor single level corner unit that will have everything you will need for a great vacation!

Featuring an open floor concept plan with coastal colors and decor throughout, this vacation rental has hardwood floors, a fully equipped kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances, with additional bar seating for two at the kitchen pass-through and a dining room table that seats six. The living room includes a HDTV , a new comfortable queen sleeper sofa that sleeps two and loveseat.

The primary bedroom features a king bed and flat screen tv with doors that go out to your private patio. The en-suite bathroom has a nice updated shower.

French doors leading to a private court yard where you can enjoy fantastic golf course views! There is a table with seating to enjoy coffee in the morning and dinner in the evening while taking in the breath taking views of the 11 mile lagoon. The patio has some of the best views in all of St Andrews common. There is a community pool right outside the villa. The beach can be easily accessed by biking or calling the seasonal Dunes Buggy Shuttle! You are close to everything wonderful that Palmetto Dunes has to offer: pickleball, tennis, fishing, bike trails, kayaking, golf, restaurants, shops and of course the beach!

Palmetto Dunes is an exceptional resort

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort is exceptional, golf courses are great, pickle ball experience was really good, bike trails were really well laid out. Unfortunately this specific unit was very poor. Unit had a musty smell that did not go away - we were there for six nights. The machines that were installed after complaint helped a little but it still smelled musty. The can of frebreeze that was left to spray I thought was insulting, the unit smelt musty, it did not help. The bed in this unit was very soft and you could not sleep on it, it was terrible. No response on this issue, so basically did not sleep for a week. So resort is fantastic , but this unit was terrible. It was sad that they did not move us to an acceptable unit.

Lovely Palmetto Dunes Community

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved the Palmetto Dunes community. Gorgeous property nestled in well-established live oaks with Spanish moss (the back patio faced the golf course and was among really pretty plants and trees. Would highly recommend renting bikes to ride around. The unit itself was very clean and felt very homey with all of the decor and amenities present. I loved that they put kits in the bathrooms and kitchen that included soaps/detergents/etc. The one thing that we did not like was a musty smell in the unit. I did not know if mold was present, but it smelled that way. Everything was visibly clean, with no mold visible, however. We did call the maintenance crew and asked for dehumidifiers. They came and brought two, but they did not seem very effective as little water was in the tanks after 2 days, however they were quick to bring them to the unit. It would be nice if they got an inspection to rule out mold, and as lovely as the other aspects of the stay were, we would probably only feel comfortable staying at this again if it was inspected.

Extremely Disappointed, Never staying here again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stay: June 29 – July 3rd 2024We were extremely disappointed in 1871 St. Andrews Commons. To be fair, the positives include a quick check-in and an easy checkout. The space of the villa was good for 2 people; it had 1.5 baths and a king size bed. The shower water pressure was good. The frig was a good size, made good ice and had plenty of room. Now for the reasons we will never stay here again. The 1.5 bath became critical because the toilet in the full bath could not be used unless you sat sideways. It was too close to the wall and door to sit normally. The unit itself was NOT cleaned as expected. Since I was charged a $130 cleaning fee at departure, I was expecting it was cleaned before we arrived. The floors and porch were dirty. The patio furniture was rusted. Debris from the overhead balcony rained down on our table through the cracks. Cabinets and kitchen countertops were grungy. The bed mattress was absolutely horrible. One side very hard and the other side had a deep ‘sunken in’ hole and you rolled off into the floor at the edge. None of us slept well over the 4-night stay. The couches were in good condition, but were covered with that scratchy material, so again not a comfortable place to sit or relax and watch tv. The worst part, the AC was supposed to be preset at 70 and we were asked not to touch it. Turns out only the fan was on. The AC filter was beyond filthy and we had to request to have it changed. It never stayed cool enough to be comfortable. The villa smelled of old cigarette smoke and urine. We had to diffuse essential oils to help tolerate the rooms. This villa is in desperate need of a remodel and refurbishment.

Staff in office is awesome, helped us figure out cable!Only negative was a broken living room window overlooking patio and golf hole. A portion of the window had been broken by an errant golf ball. We were told when we checked in Sat, it would be fixed Tue. It was never fixed while we were there and the cardboard that had been covering it came down in a storm. The maintenance people did replace it immediately.Would still highly recommend this place. Our 2nd time staying at Palmetto Dunes.

First floor unit that has a nice patio overlooking the 15th tee of the Fazio course and a small lagoon. Short walk to the pool. Spacious unit, 1 BR and a pullout couch in a big living room and dining room. Shuttle service is great and will pick you up quickly. This resort is centrally located, near the Shelter Cove Marina and shops, and not far from a Kroger. The island isn't long, so not far to all the restaurants. Ate at Giuseppe's, Hickory Cove Tavern, One Hot Mama's, Top Dawg Tavern for wing night, Nick's Seafood and Steaks, and Reilly's Grill. All good places. Rental rate for this unit was reasonable. Good for a couple only.

Condo needs updating.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall Palmetto Dunes is a nice place to stay. Traffic was a little busy and worrisome trying to cross with a child and carrying beach gear. Vehicles have right of way and speed limit is too high in pedestrian areas. This particular condo needs updating. We rented the one bedroom with a sleeper sofa so our daughter could sleep on the sofa. When I pulled the sleeper sofa mattress out it was obviously well worn and in need of replacing, i.e. springs sticking up. The blinds in the bedroom were damaged and missing pieces of the blinds. The kitchen utensils and pots/pans could use replacing as well.
