Long stay and was great!
This was our second time here and we’re coming back! Everything is so easy and clean and the place is very well furnished/stocked! Also very clean and a great location!
Wonderful stay in West Salem!
It exceeded our expectations in every way! Having a fenced yard was wonderful for our dogs and the furnishings are plentiful and practical! We are even going back in a week for a longer stay!
Thank you, Jane, it is always great to have such positive feedback 😊
A wonderful family visit
My parents, brother and aunt came to Winston-Salem for Christmas, as I’m 9 months pregnant and cannot travel, and this property was a perfect place to celebrate the holiday. The renovation of this historic home is beautiful, and it has a comfortable layout and is very nicely appointed. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped, and Patricia has provided everything you could need! We didn’t do much around town because of the holiday, but as a local, I can say that you couldn’t have a better location, with easy access to Old Salem and the Strollway that will eventually link to downtown (both walkable) and downtown Winston-Salem. You couldn’t find a better rental in town!
Thank you, Sunny, for your great review! I am so glad your parents enjoyed their stay, and I wish you and your family all good wishes for 2020 :)
This property is one of the best that we have ever stayed in! It was immaculately clean, comfortably furnished, and Patricia made the whole rental process extremely easy. We loved this place so much we have already booked a return trip for next year. I highly recommend!
Thank you, Earlene, I look forward to welcoming you back next year 😊
Very nice, clean and comfortable home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The historic residential West Salem neighborhood of Winston-Salem is 1.5 miles south of downtown. It is immediately adjacent to Old Salem, and very close to two parks, one of which offers free tennis courts, the other an enclosed dog park. Both have children's playgrounds. In the summer the neighborhood is full of blossoming crape myrtle trees.
Walking, biking or short car ride distance to parks, historic area, downtown and UNCSA. BB&T Ballpark is 1.5 miles away; Wake Forest Innovation Quarter is only 2 miles; Hanes Mall, Wake Forest University and Reynolda House, 3.5 miles, and Salem Lake about 4 miles. Ideally located close to Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock State Park, Tanglewood Park with its Festival of Christmas lights, and fabulous wineries. Less than 2 miles by car to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Uber taxi service is available in Winston-Salem. Bike rentals are readily available.
About Patricia Taverner-Peck
I am originally from the UK, but have now made Winston-Salem my home where I find all the things I most enjoy: history in Old Salem (which reminds me of an English country village), the arts - great theaters, galleries, UNCSA and Reynolda House; excellent restaurants and bakeries catering for all tastes; wonderful trees and flowers and scenic countryside; super friendly people; trips to wineries, state parks, and easy road trips further afield to the coast or other cities and states. I hope you will enjoy staying in my beautiful house ... I have tried to think of all that I would like to find in a vacation rental. I live in West Salem and thoroughly enjoy the area, walking my dogs in Old Salem and Washington Park, making my way downtown on the lovely, shady Strollway, enjoying the arts at UNCSA, and visiting all the nearby coffee shops and restaurants.

Why Patricia Taverner-Peck chose Winston-Salem
I fell in love with this pretty house when I first walked inside and saw the beautiful, long entrance hall and realized that a lot of the house's architectural features were still intact. Eight months of hard work and love have restored it to the vision I had when I first encountered it. I am strongly considering moving here one day when I need a little less space. In the meantime, I am so pleased that the guests I have already hosted love it almost as much as me :)
What makes this House unique
I love the proximity to Old Salem and downtown and the quietness of the street. I love the layout of the house with the bedrooms off to the left of the beautiful hall, and the living space off to the right. I love the gorgeous kitchen, a chef's dream! I love the cozy sitting room and the cute pass through to the dining room. I love the tall ceilings, the beautiful wood floors, the sweet little porch room at the back, the private, pretty backyard, the gorgeous porch and swing. In fact I love everything about this house!
