The House was much larger than would have been adequate but it was enjoyed fully. We were not very demanding of its features. They were there at our disposal. Our stay and visit was unencumbered by the accommodation which we appreciated. Our was a great experience which I would certainly be inclined to repeat in the future, should the occasion arise!

Such a comfortable space

very easy to find and check in. great beds. overall space was very comfortable and relaxing. Wood stove was great although i could not find any fire starter so improvised with papers we had. Could have used a maul vs the axe to spit wood. Could walk to down town though it was several blocks. As Golden is a railroad town there is quite a bit of train rumbling overnight but the log structure dampened that well and there were no crossing horns. Good host communication. Overall just a great place to stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

On arrival the property had a musty/stale smell. General impressions of kitchen area were that it needed upgrading ie very dirty oven & cooker top, chipped and marked sink. The upstairs shower didn’t appear to work. Whilst the view of the mountains in the main bedroom through the very large window was excellent, the half height flimsy thin curtains were inadequate to keep out the light. Many of the thin curtains throughout the house had holes & tears in them. Compared with several other properties we stayed at on this holiday, which were considerably cheaper and far superior, the Hygge House was very poor value.

Nice home in a good location. We walked to the main restaurant area and had easy access to Kicking Horse and CMH Purcell with our rental car.The owner occupies a separate unit on the property (I believe this is required for VRBO in Golden) and was helpful and friendly but in no way intrusive.Would stay again.

This is a fantastic custom-built log house with wood timbers stacked on top of each other. It is an exceptionally well-made home with a unique atmosphere. The location in Golden is very convenient to all stores, restaurants, and cafes, and was perfect for our ski crew to get to the mountain. The host is very responsive and proactive. We would love to come back and highly recommend this stay to others.

Great place, highly recommended!

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed the four nights spent at the property. Superb wooden interior, great amenities, quiet neighbourhood yet a short walk to the center of Golden with shops and restaurants. Interactions with Gili were a charm, he really made us feel at home. It was our first time in Golden but won't be our last and next time around, we will be looking again at staying at Gili's place!

Awesome property

Gili and Ava were very welcoming and helpful. Their house is just as the pictures show. We had a great stay and it’s only a short walk to downtown Golden. This is a great choice if you are looking for a comfortable 3 bedroom home in Golden.

The house is fantastic and the hosts are superb. We had a great time and felt quite at ease during our stay. Our hosts were readily accessible and responsive to all of our inquiries. The place is well equipped and the layout is quite inviting and clean. The area of Golden is central to all of the parks and trails you want to visit.
