The location was perfect, we walked all over the place. We were able to walk to the zoo, I highly recommend it! The place was perfect for us and the patio and outdoor space was great for coffee in the morning. I will definitely stay here again!
If you are a walker, you are close enough to walk to the zoo, then take an Uber home. Lots of restaurants in the area is you don't feel like cooking. There are some stairs to walk down, and then you get to a charming 3 bedroom with lots of bright daylight and probably everything you will need for your vacation.

Great place especially for a larger family or group for such a good price! My kids loved it. A lot to do closeby. Great communication with owner. Loved that it was pet friendly too! Did feel like we had to be quiet so kinda stressed me out since people above and below. And we happened to go on street sweeping days so parking was difficult so just be mindful of that- I think it’s Monday and Tuesday.
This apartment was so cute and perfectly located! We were within 20 minutes of everything we wanted to do. The only frustration was it was difficult to find a parking spot close by in the evening. Be aware that you can hear the upstairs neighbors moving around so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise a wonderful place!
We loved this cute apartment. It was decorated in such a fun way. It was light and open. We visited SeaWorld, Balboa Park, La Jolla beach, and Coronado Beach. They were all close by and we felt like we were in a great location. We had 3 adults and 2 teens. There is only 1 bathroom, so that was a little hard, especially when everyone wants a shower at the same time! But we made it work and loved our visit to San Diego!

3 bedroom bungalow, walk-in shower in north park San Diego
3 bedroom, sleeps 8. Walk-in shower, full kitchen. Each bedroom had its own AC window unit. It was quiet and secure and close to MCRD, as we were their for my son's marine corps. Graduation. It was a nice place to relax at the end of a long and arduous day.
We had problems with cockroaches and the floor and the whole unit was not even. Front door and all the rooms were uneven. Large gap on top of door and bottom. Steps leading to unit were steep for older people like my wife and I. Parking was, well, there were no parking. We had to walk blocks to find a spot to park. If you are younger, it might be ok, but my wife and I are in our early 70's.
The location was great. The house was pretty good, bathroom floor needed sweeping when we arrived. The towels were thin and small, new towels needed. The hot and cold water was difficult to figure out in sinks and shower. But there was plenty of hot water when we got it right. Beds were great, parking on the street was horrible- had to park a couple of blocks away. But all in all, it was a good place to stay, near Balboa park for the visitor stuff and plenty of room for 5.
The property is in a nice location, close to many things in San Diego. The property manager was quick responding to text messages. Overall the property was relatively clean.
My only critiques are the towels were very cheap and small. The oven takes a long time to heat up. There aren’t any mirrors in the bedrooms, only in the bathroom so it’s difficult when you have a lot of people trying to get ready. The outside could be kept up better, there’s old wood all over the place and the deck and interior of the house need a paint job.
I know I’m being picky, just trying to prepare others that stay there. Like I said, it’s perfectly adequate.
We have mixed feelings. The house worked for our family(3 adults, 4 kids), but please be aware if you're staying with a infant/toddler the listing doesn't state there is an extra fee to use those items.
Parking late at night was less than desirable.
Upstairs neighbors were up almost every morning at 5:30a.m. and not quiet when walking around, so come prepared if you're a light sleeper.
The kitchen was mediocre - We prefer to eat in as a family to save on expenses and the oven barely was working adequately to bake our dinner.
At the end of the day would we potentially stay again.. Maybe if we knew some of the issues were resolved.
We were happy with the location, but the pictures are a cat fish. The pictures were nicer than what you actually see in person. The entire outside of property is in poor repair. We smelled weed each time we walked up the stairs to leave. We brought our dog who was able to go through an unsecured gate into the neighbors yard. Not recommended for families with children due to the condition of the yard. If location matters and you need a quick stay, this place is for you. Could not imagine staying for more than a few nights. Also, watch out for the hidden pet fee. Best wishes.
Nice place. Location is close to the zoo, otherwise a short drive to any other activity - beaches, downtown, etc. Oven, fridge, freezer all work well. Loved the decor in the bathroom and main room. The cute porch swing and chair were fun. I’m guessing with the drought it’s hard to water the r
We are from Ohio coming to explore parts of California and stayed here for 4 days and this was the perfect location. Close to the zoo, beach, Sea World and other attractions. Perfect for the kids in one room and adults in other rooms. Communication was great and very quick when we needed something. Highly recommend this place.
We had a the most wonderful stay at Doreen’s. The location to downtown and Balboa park, we couldn’t have asked for a better place. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds, cozy couch for movies at night! Thank you again for everything. We will be back!
Viva Pacifica was designed to be lively, colorful, and inviting, with its own California flavor. Lots of primary colors and fun patterns in the bedrooms and living area, plus new modern floors and design with lots of space for up to 8 people.
Bedrooms include 2 with queen-size beds and one with 3 twin beds. The sofa sleeps 1 more for up to 8 guests total - perfect for multi-family trips and couples getaways. You can pack light: there's a coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement.
