2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8
If the prospect of driving up high, winding mountain roads to reach your cabin is keeping you from enjoying a Smoky Mountain vacation, Bear Nook is for you. The 2-bedroom log cabin in located on a level property in Wears Valley—among the mountains but not atop one. Set near the woods with a burbling creek in its backyard, Bear Nook is just minutes from downtown Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, among other local attractions.
With its burnished wood floor, planked walls, and vaulted ceiling, Bear Nook exudes rustic charm. But the pet-friendly home has plenty of luxuries too. It's roomy deck, for instance, is outfitted with a hot tub. It’s the perfect spot for listening to songbirds in the morning or owls at night. A pub table and a dining table for 2 let you enjoy alfresco meals or cocktails under the stars. And the kids will love the wooden deck swing—as will romantic couples once the little ones are tucked into bed.
Inside, the living area boasts a large flat-panel TV with cable and a DVD player and plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to gather together. Generous windows let in the sunshine and the sight of trees swaying in the breeze, while the hand-laid stone-surround gas fireplace will cast a welcoming glow when you return from skiing or snowboarding.
The loft’s game room is another inviting spot for hanging out. A full-size pool table takes center stage, but there’s also another flat-panel TV plus a video game system. Or you can simply stretch out on the sofa and take advantage of the free WiFi to surf the web—or take a nap under the gentle breeze of the ceiling fan.
One major advantage of vacationing in a home rather than a hotel is access to a private kitchen. Bear Nook’s kitchen is fully equipped with appliances both major and minor (including that all-important coffee maker and a blender for whipping up smoothies or daiquiris). There’s a wealth of cookware and tableware too—all you have to bring are food and an appetite! And let’s not forget the outdoor charcoal grill… mmm, barbecue!
Bear Nook has a bedroom and a bathroom on each floor, for maximum privacy. Each bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed, plenty of storage, and cabin-perfect furnishings. The master bedroom on the main floor does have one advantage: a whirlpool tub. Talk about luxury!
If you have additional guests staying, the living room sofa converts to a bed for 2, as does the futon in the game room, so that Bear Nook can sleep 8 people in all. For maximum convenience, the cabin has its own washer and dryer too.
And speaking of convenience, Bear Nook is just a short drive from the attractions of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Among the must-sees in Pigeon Forge are Dollywood, the Titanic Museum Attraction, and Parrot Mountain & Gardens, where you can feed the brilliantly plumaged birds. Downtown Gatlinburg features an aquarium and the Guinness World Records Museum among its attractions. Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area offers skiing and snowboarding in winter, plus ice-skating and more year-round. And no visit to the area is complete without exploring the Great Smoky Mountains National Park—it’s the country’s most popular national park for good reason!
So what’re you waiting for? Book your stay today, and get ready to fall in love with Bear Nook. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Very nice, clean cabin. Good location. We would stay there again!
Beautiful Property. Would Stay Again!
The location was perfect! No high mountain drive! There was plenty of space for a family of 8. Only issue we had was there were ladybugs everywhere. Hard to eat when they all around you. And the washer/dryer took FOREVER to dry our clothes. But, we enjoyed the cabin and would stay here again.

We loved the cabin. Nice yard for dogs.
The cabin was perfect for 4 of us. Kids had upstairs with game room and their own little balcony. The yard was awesome for our dogs. Could have used a little more dusting but not bad. Loved the fire in the evening. Will definitely stay there again.

I love the cabin it is cozy just like home. I love the bathroom and the washer and dryer no need to pack to much clothing just wash and wear. However, the sleeper couch and the futon need to be updated. Not enough cushion for support. I suggest if you want to book this cabin bring your own blowup bed or sleeping bag. The two beds are comfortable. Over all, my family had a great time staying in this cute cabin.
Thank you Vergencita for your thoughtful review of Bear Nook. We have passed along your suggestions to the owners. We hope you will stay with us again on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to meet all expectations.
Peaceful & serene
This cabin was everything I expected and more. Tastefully decorated, clean, & comfortable. The hot tub wasn't working, we called and a repair man was there within the hour. We will be returning.
Cozy and close to town and National Park
My Dad and I stayed October 24-31. Cabin was very clean! Close to necessities, but far enough off the beaten path to be cozy. Just a few items could be changed. The couch is very worn and uncomfortable as is the red chair. Some motion lights could be added to the back of the cabin since the garbage can sits on the deck. The upstairs shower doesn't get hot, but the sink works fine. We loved the large, flat parking area. A couple of chairs on the front porch would be nice, too. We had a great time and liked being close to Cades Cove! The a/c, heat and WiFi worked well. There is not phone service for AT&T customers in this area. The covered back deck was amazing! We didnt use the hot tub, but enjoyed the swing and outside tables/chairs.
