This cottage was perfect for our stay near the mountains. We enjoyed all of the antiques and the architecture of the older home. Kathy was a wonderful host. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
This quaint refurbished home was a delight! From the old-Timey fridge to the view of the mountains from the front porch, this home was perfect!
The owner/manager of the property made sure I was comfortable the whole time and made sure I had everything I needed! I will definitely stay again sometime in the future!
Thank you!
Lovely old house set deep in Appalachia. Very quiet and peaceful with a pleasant drive there. It is quite a ways away from any major towns, but that's what we wanted, just be aware if you're trying to go to a gas station or store.
Pros: Nature, quiet, charm, amenities, dark skies, near attractions.
Cons: Queen bed is very firm (uncomfortably so for some), 4th bed is in back patio area which gets warm in summer, older kitchen oven and stove doesn't vent to outside leaving some smoke in house

Hi David, we’re delighted that you enjoyed the peaceful and quiet location of the house, as well as the natural surroundings and charm. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- The area you mentioned on the back patio is not listed as a sleeping area but rather as a space to relax and hang out. The property offers a queen bed in the main bedroom, and the guest bedroom has two twin-size beds, allowing for a total sleeping of 4 guests. - Regarding the kitchen, the stove does have a vent/fan above it, and we're sorry to hear you experienced some smoke in the house. We'll check the vent to ensure it's functioning properly.- We’re sorry to hear that the queen bed was too firm for your comfort. We have never received this feedback before but would have been happy to provide a mattress topper if informed during your stay.- Each sleeping area is equipped with air conditioning to help keep guests comfortable during the warmer months.Thank you for your thoughtful review, and we hope to have the chance to host you again for another peaceful getaway!
My experience was a great one we the property was well taken care of and Ms. Kathy was so helpful with making sure there was things to do for my children when we got the unfortunately one child decided to stay home so only one came but there was more that enough for him to do there. We emailed back and forth and I let her know we was going to be in late at night to check in and she went ahead and had the lights on and the door unlocked for us so we wouldn’t have the hassle of trying to get the keys and getting in after our long journey there I would recommend this rental nice helpful landlord and beautiful scenery and very peaceful just and overall great experience
