Charming cottage due south gates of Queyras, Ecrins and Embrun

HABITAT MOUNTAIN A COSY ATMOSPHERE
We welcome you to our traditional stone-built mountain home which has been carefully renovated to provide all modern amenities while at the same time preserving its authenticity and cosy, comfortable feel. Located in a small hamlet at an altitude of 1200m, it is just five minute drive from the picturesque market town of Chorges.
The 35m2 cottage comprises a 17m2 open plan living/dining/kitchen area (opening out onto a private, south-facing 20m2 terrace), a double bedroom and a beautifully appointed bathroom with Italian-style shower. The modern, functional, fully-equipped kitchen has a convection oven with a gas and electric hob and extractor hood, a microwave, fridge freezer and Nespresso coffee machine. The lounge area (which includes the160 x 190cm sofa bed) has a 82cm LCD TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, Internet access, and a number of maps and hiking/mountain biking guidebooks and magazines. The bedroom contains two 90 x 190cm beds and has plenty of storage space. The washing machine is housed in the bathroom. If necessary, baby equipment (cot, high chair, changing mat) can be provided.
In addition to the private terrace, where you will find a barbeque and comfortable garden furniture with a parasol, you can also enjoy the owners shady garden from where you will marvel at the view of the lake and the mountains.

A pleasure to stay here

Extremely comfortable, easy to find with Google maps. We were provided with a wealth of information on the local area. We had a lovely time, with bread available at Le Fournil de la Mourette at in Réallon in the hamlet of Rousses every Tuesday and Friday. The Chorges boulangerie being on holiday. Very good restaurant, le Moss at La Bréole and the D57 down to the beach on the lake shore. The cathedral at Embrun. We would stay again.

Perfect Getaway

My wife and I stayed with Laddie and Martine this summer and could not have had a better experience. The day we arrived we were invited into their home to visit with them and their neighbors over a bottle of wine and snacks (both were excellent). The cottage itself was wonderfully decorated and equipped with every convenience. The Chorges area is a perfecthome base for day trips into the Alps and there was plenty to see. Laddie and Martine were extremely helpful with local area information and we enjoyed every suggestion they gave us. If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the French Alps look no further. We hope one day to return and spend more time at this wonderful cottage.

Maison au calme dans un hameau

Tout était parfait : l’accueil des propriétaires qui séjournaient dans la maison principale, le logement parfaitement équipé, confortable et conforme au descriptif. Le logement est idéal pour 2 personnes et sa terrasse est très agréable. Nous serions volontiers restés plus longtemps.

Eine wirkliche Wohlfühl-Unterkunft!

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist wirklich mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen angenehmen Urlaub braucht. Die äußerst freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Vermieter haben dafür gesorgt, dass wir das Haus ohne Probleme finden konnten und versorgten uns zudem mit vielen nützlichen Tipps und Hinweisen. Das Haus ist zwar etwas abgelegen, um nach Chorges zu kommen, sollte man schon mit dem Auto fahren. Aber die Lage, die Ruhe und herrliche Ausblick entschädigt dafür mehr als genügend. Auf der Terrasse in der Morgensonne zu frühstücken oder im Garten auf dem Liegestuhl zu chillen: wunderbar. Der Stausee und die umgebende Bergwelt bieten Ausflugsziele in Hülle und Fülle. Mit anderen Worten: Wir haben hier eine sehr schöne Woche verbracht.

Magnifique petit havre de paix

Logement plein de charme très chaleureux. On s'y sent tout de suite très bien. Tout est très propre et le gîte est super équipé. On y trouve tout ce dont on a besoin. Belle vue dégagée sur les montagnes depuis la terrasse. Accueil très chaleureux des propriétaires. Petites attentions à l'arrivée pour les enfants et les parents :) situé à 7minutes du centre ville de chorges qui est un très beau petit village. Y avons logé une semaine pour skier sur Reallon qui était une très chouette petite station familiale avec de belles pistes et de superbes points de vue. Route depuis le gîte jusque reallon à peine une demi heure. Route très agréable. Bref nous nous sommes beaucoup plus facile et remercions nos hôtes pour leur gentillesse.

Nous cherchions un gîte un peu isolé et suffisamment grand pour 2 personnes, avec chemins de randonnées aux alentours.gite parfait.environnement calme, vue magnifique.Chorges possède les magasins nécessaires pas besoin de plus.proprietaires supers sympas, accueillants, disponibles, bons conseillers.

Un havre de paix !

Nous avons passé 15 jours de vacances dans ce gîte, au calme, très bien aménagé et très propre. Les propriétaires nous ont donné de bons conseils de randonnée. Le gîte est très bien situé pour visiter les alentours du lac de Serre-Ponçon. Montagne, lac et nature, le top pour des vacances reposantes !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine chez Martine et Laadi. Ce sont des hôtes très accueillants et bienveillants. Along with my partner, I enjoy the nature, the mountain activities, the good food and the marvellous quality of life in this pollution-free area. We bought this 19th century house in 2008 and were attracted to it by its superb mountain location and views down over the Serre-Poncon Lake. We have renovated it with sensitivity to retain its original charm.

Why they chose this property

We know this region and particularly appreciate its sunny climate and its turquoise-colored lake and changing, it is also nicknamed 'the sea to the mountains.' It is with evident pleasure that we love to share the joy of living here, the discovery of a region which has strengths that have nothing to envy to the remains of the Alps. Chorges is a thriving market town situated between Gap and Embrun. It has a very popular Sunday morning market and in the summer time there is also a market on Wednesday evenings. It has a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of good shops, bars and restaurants







What makes this property unique

What makes this cottage unique.
With its fully southern exposure and magnificent mountain and lake views, the cottage is in a small, friendly hamlet with full and part-time residents from France, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Activities on the door step; hiking on marked trails, mountain biking and road biking, snowshoeing and, weather permitting, cross-country skiing.
Nearby ski resorts; Ancelle, St Leger Melezes, Orcieres, Reallon, Les Orres, Vars, Risoul.
There are multiple access points, all within 30mins, into the Valgaudemar Champsaur Ecrins National Park.
Nearby historic attractions include the shrine at Notre Dame de Laus, the 17th century abbey of Boscodon and the Chateau de Picomtal.
Serre-Poncon Lake is a 10 minute drive away and offers a variety of activities from relaxing on its well-maintained beaches to swimming, windsurfing, kitesurfing, canoeing, pedaloes, dinghy sailing, motor boats, guided cruises and more. On the Durance and Ubaye rivers which feed the lake you can also do white water rafting and kayaking.
It is 25 minutes from the motorway leading to Provence and day trips are possible to the Verdon Gorge, Aix en Provence, the Drome Provencale and the lavender fields. In the other direction you can go into the mountains to the Queyras valley, Fressinieres, Vallouise, la Meije, and the glaciers in the Ecrins National Park as well as visit the historic sites of Embrun, Briancon and Mont Dauphin
