What a Wonderful Place!

My family (me, my husband, 14yo son, 16yo daughter) spent a week in this beautiful condo. It was clean, well-furnished, and true to the photos in the listing. Communications with the owner were very easy; he was quick to respond and very helpful! Upon booking, the owner shared with me his website that contained SO MUCH helpful information - about the condo, Akumal (the town where the condo is located), helpful hints, and activities available in the region. We used that as a main source of information for planning our whole trip. And the area of Akumal surrounding the condo was really wonderful and felt very safe - great restaurants and cute little shops. For a family that didn't want to be too close to "the party scene" of Tulum, we couldn't have been happier with our choice of this wonderful condo in Akumal!

Why they chose this property

Akumal is a great place for scuba divers, swimmers and snorkellers because it's on the Mesoamerican reef and Yucutan cave system. There are amazing ocean dive sites 5 minutes from shore, plus there are many cenotes nearby that you can swim, snorkel and scuba dive in as well. Akumal is a very safe community that is lively with lots of great restaurants, but also offers some peace and quiet that you don't get in the more heavily populated nearby downtown Tulum or Playa Del Carmen areas. I like it here because it has some great restaurants and lively bars but is also very laid back and relaxing and does not feel touristy. The bay does not allow boats and so it is very private. It is shallow for swimming and always warm.
