Amazing road-trip overnight spot

Driving from Auckland to Wellington with the family, we decided to rest for the night in Awakino. We had a wonderful rest there!! Had a nice delicious dinner at the hotel across the street then watch tv by the warm fire when we returned. With very little light pollution we were delighted to see all the stars out at night. Then we slept very comfortably in the beds. Jenny was very accommodating and was quick to answer all our questions. Loved our stay!

Comfortable

Perfect as a way station for us on our long drive back to Auckland. After a long day of driving, it was great to be able to walk to a decent place to eat (about a 2 minute walk away - though if you are interested in dining variety, this is not the place for you - this is the only restaurant for quite a distance in any direction.) If we had been staying more than 1 night we would have been unhappy to not have internet available at the house. (You could get wifi at the restaurant). Living room was large and had a few toys/games available, which the grandchildren liked.
