Bulubara means sun in local Guwar language . This sunny house is perfectly located in old Point Lookout. It's a five minute stroll to Deadman's or Cylinder Beaches and ten minutes to Home, Frenchman's or Main Beach. The Straddie pub is just up the road, and the grocery store and fish and chips shop are a stones throw from the house.

Bulubara House is an original 1950s Straddie beach shack which has been renovated for comfort while maintaining its retro charm. Bigger than it looks, there are plenty of spaces to spread out. It has three bedrooms, a lounge, a dining room/sleep out, a bathroom, and separate toilet and laundry out the back. The sleep out has a sofa and a table which can be used as a desk for work or a breakfast nook.

The private, shady backyard offers various spaces to relax. There is a large undercover area with lounge as well as dining and BBQ spaces. Kangaroos, curlews and other wildlife are regular visitors to the garden.

The interior is bright with a laid back vibe. Modern appliances and a well appointed kitchen will make your stay stress-free. The house includes ceiling fans, a dishwasher, coffee machine, large washing machine, clothes dryer and outdoor fridge. Free Wifi is also available.

We provide everything you need to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, including board games and puzzles, bluetooth speaker, port-a-cot, tea, coffee, soaps and various other household items.

Stradbroke Island/Minjerribah is famous for its pristine surf beaches, freshwater lakes, spectacular coastal gorges and rich Quandamooka culture.

An amazing variety of activities are available: swimming and surfing at the beautiful beaches, scuba diving on nearby Flinders Reef, walks along the cliff top trails at Point Lookout, exploring freshwater lakes, fishing, whale and dolphin watching, eco-tours, Indigenous cultural tours, and of course, relaxing!

POINTS TO NOTE

Please be aware that Stradbroke Island is only accessible by vehicle or passenger ferry. In busy periods, such as school holidays, it is advisable to book your vehicle ferry early.

This property is located in a quiet residential street. Out of respect to our neighbours, we do not allow parties. Complaints about excessive noise and offensive or unruly behaviour will be referred to the local police.

This house is not available to rent by schoolies or pre-schoolies. Guests must be over the age of 18 or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. When minors are present, the parent or guardian must also be staying at the house for the entire duration of the reservation. Failure to comply will result in immediate eviction without refund.
