Overview

About the property

1 bedroom, 1 bath - sleeps 4 - open year round.

This adorable cottage is located on a lovely beach on Lake Huron with views of Mackinac Island, Mackinac Bridge and Bois Blanc Island. This cozy bungalow is romantic, full of charm and character. The owner is an artist and her attention to detail and creative flair are evident everywhere. There are beautiful Lake Huron views from every room. It is located 7 miles from Mackinaw City and 7 miles from Cheboygan. You’ll love this place because of the quaintness, the comfy bed, the coziness, and the views. It's is well suited for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and small families.

This lovingly maintained cottage is a family treasure! The owner acquired this property from her parents many years ago. They were both musicians (pianist and violinist) and the cottage was aptly named "Allegro". The owner recalls her father spending his evenings practicing his violin at the waters edge. Whether you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax or a comfortable place to enjoy your loved ones or friends, this is the place. The views of Lake Huron, Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge are spectacular. The cottage boasts large windows which allow not only the summer breezes off the Lake but impeccable views. The cottage comes well equipped and provides all the comforts of home. The kitchen is small but functional. The living room and dining area provide a carefree gathering place. The yard is spacious and there are plenty of shady trees for warm days. The cottage was remodeled by a Northern Michigan craftsman and the quality of his work is evident. There are wood plank floors and a beautifully designed kitchen and bathroom. We are open all year so come and enjoy all 4 seasons with us. Its a great base camp for fall color tours and winter is amazing in the Mackinaw area - so beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The cottage is toasty warm and inviting - you'll want to come back again and again.

The cottage is small but comfortable for 2-3 adults or 2 adults and up to 2 children. Pet may be allowed for an extra fee and additional deposit.

The property was perfect for a weekend getaway. It was cozy with beautiful views of the water and of Mackinac Island. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Beautiful location and charming cottage.

  • 4 of 5

What a lovely cottage to be able to relax in for a few days. The landscaping, lake and location were perfect for short jaunts into Cheboygan as well as to Mackinac City. The view is very nice with comfortable chairs by the water. The book collection and artistic charm was well enjoyed. Be aware that the cabin is best suited for just two adults and perhaps a small child. Also just a mini fridge so don't buy too much produce and bring a cooler perhaps with ice. We really enjoyed our stay.

The property was charming. We were right on Lake Huron.

  • 5 of 5

The property more than met our expectations. We enjoyed the lake view morning and evening. Met the wonderful neighbors who made great suggestions on places to see. Best of all the temperatures were in the 70's while back in St. Louis the temperatures were in the 100's. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely view, clean, cute, but noisy and too many restrictions

  • 3 of 5

The pictures were nice but didn't reveal the nearness to the road. I asked if there was a fireplace or firepit( in order to use) but notes in the cabin by the owner said no fires. The yard was in need of a mow - knee high grass! Close to the town and parks.

Romantic and Charming!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this lovely little cottage last summer and had the most wonderful week! It sits right on Lake Huron with beautiful views and amazing sunrises. Just a short trip to Mackinaw City (about 10 minutes) and also to Cheboygan. The cottage is so charming and comfortable - we didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this for couples or maybe a small family.
