We had the most wonderful time. Didn’t want to leave! Anyone looking for the best cabin ever, this is it!!! Very warm and cozy, big decks overlooking a creek that sounds like heaven! It was just totally perfect!!!
Easy check-in, well-stocked kitchen, awesome decks. Loved this cabin and the tiny creek behind it. The driveway was a bit difficult to maneuver. We ended up backing in.
If you like a quiet setting, filled with songbirds and waterfalls this is the place…a cozy cabin with log burning furnace and outdoor fire pit quickly fill the air with comforting smells. This location was conveniently located near Highlands and Cashiers, Dillard and Franklin. We can’t wait to come back for another wonderful experience!

Hi Dawn, we have had higher then normal temperatures here this summer. That combined with heavy rains during your stay led to the high humidity downstairs at Karma Cabin. Unfortunately you did not let me know until after your scheduled checkout date or I would have brought an additional dehumidifier over immediately for your comfort. As soon as you notified me I immediately called the lovely homeowners and they had the dehumidifier installed and scheduled the installation of 3 dehumidification air conditioners for this week. For future guests of Karma Cabin, this issue has been taken care of now and you can expect the same wonderful cabin experience of prior guests.
I can’t say enough great things about Karma Cabin! From arrival with having everything fully-stocked, to the comfort of sitting on the back porch while listening to the babbling brook, it was truly the best cabin experience I’ve ever had! Located within a short driving distance to so many beautiful overlooks, waterfalls, and amazing mountain towns! The beds and pillows were comfy, and the house was clean and as cute as can be. I utilized the grill and fire pit, which were a nice bonus. The bathrooms were clean and convenient, having one upstairs and one downstairs. I even did laundry before departing! I stayed for almost a week, and didn’t want to leave! I will definitely be back. The host was great and very communicative, answering any questions I had, promptly. If you’re looking for a quiet, cozy cabin tucked into the woods, this is your place! Thanks again, Karma Cabin!
The cabin is the coziest, well maintained, and has everything you want in a creek side Mountain cabin. Loved listening to the creek. We spent much of our day on the peaceful porches. We enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen. There was even a cast iron skillet. The bedrooms were quiet and dark and had comfortable beds.
It is close to the downtown highlands area.
We loved this place and would come back!
I cannot say enough nice things about Holly!! She really has a heart for others and it shines through. She is incredibly helpful, kind, responsive, interested and knowledgeable. She is a real gem!
This cabin is charming. We found it to be quite cozy and comfortable and clean. The kitchen was adequately stocked with all you should need and included a nice coffee selection. A Keurig as well as a drip coffee maker were provided. My only suggestions perhaps would be the addition of an ottoman or coffee table to the living area for games or just a place to put your "stuff". A little decluttering of surfaces for the same reason would help as well. It was nice to have the brochures and magazines etc, about the area but perhaps they could be contained so that the surfaces in the living area would be more useful.
The creek off the back of the cabin is small but quite noisy and soothing with a small waterfall. We enjoyed a glass of wine by a fire in the fire pit one afternoon. My 85 year old mother was able to navigate the slope of the lot to get to and from the bottom deck to the fire pit area. Important to us!
The upper deck is large enough to be comfortable with 2 chairs for seating and a dining table with 6 chairs.
The lower, ground level deck is not gated. We had pets with us so I brought a pet gate with us.
The bedrooms are located downstairs. They are quiet and comfortable. The linens were of good quality. Another blanket might be nice. The bathroom on this level is shared.
The heating is baseboard style and warms the cabin quickly after coming in from a day of being out and about this time of year. A major disappointment, though, was that the wood stove depicted in the photos is off limits to guests and we did not learn of this detail until a couple of days before our visit when we inquired about directions for operating it. Luckily, our weather was so perfect it really wasn't needed.
Directions to the cabin were accurate and easy to follow. The actual road to the cabin is narrow and one lane and gravel. Very typical of the area. The turn into the property is quite sharp and, while there is plenty of parking, it is difficult to the make the turn into and out of the property.
That said, this cabin and setting and creek are totally worth it. Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Thank you too Holly! Happy Fall
